L'Amandier

This is probably the best food we had in Fes. We went to Riad Fes Relais Chateau for dinner the night before. I have to say the setting is much much nicer in Riad Fes, but the French food here is much better. The John Dory filet is especially delicious.

Great authentic Moroccan food with great view over the Medina and very professional service . I highly recommend while in Fez.

Disappointing. We ate on a Sunday night and the restaurant was not crowded. We ordered the Mezze platter which was quite good and a strong start. But the main courses were not good. We had the scallop and sole roll ups and the sole did not seem fresh, and it came on a bed of quinoa that was dry and flavorless. We also had the fish of the day which was seabass. The fish was good but the vegetables it was on top of were cold, and the mashed potatoes it came with were cold and had greasy potato chips stuck in them. At no point did the waiter or manager check in to ask how our food was, even after removing our mostly full plates. Perhaps you need to stay with the Moroccan menu here? We were hoping for an upscale Mediterranean break from the typical local places we've been enjoying, but we didn't get it tonight.

VEERY GOOD FOOD Located inside Palace Faraj Hotel on the 4th floor. Spectacular views from the terrace of the Medina of Fes. We had a tris of moroccan salads, tajines and some drinks. Everything was exquisite. Service is at the level of the place. Food is very tasty and superbly presented. Prices are high (60 euro for the above mentioned), but it is worth it.

This place is absolutely beautiful, the staff are exquisite in their service and the food was delicious. Also, it has magnificent views of the city and music from a trio of very talented musicians. Totally recommend.

Taking a break from tajine and wanting a view of fez, we had high hopes for this restaurant until the food came. The bread was dry and hard, and the olive oil that was on the table was still in its original twist-cap bottle. No butter. 2 Entree came - The “mixed grill” entree had turkey (white piece of dry meat), lamb chop (bland, mediocre at best), and kafta (dry, flavourless, overcooked, underseasoned). 2nd entree was organic chicken (high end crispy chicken finger). 2 sides of mash potato (which was ok) and potato augratin (uninspiring). Spend your money elsewhere.

Wow! What an amazingly good meal! Refined and delicious. Wonderful ambiance, very pleasant oud music, nice view, excellent service. I hadn’t been in a while, but I heard they had a new chef, so decided to give it a try. I’d say that now there are very few restaurants in Fes with food as good as this.
