La Renommée

Truly a special Parisian restaurant. The ambiance is excellent, the food is incredible and the decor takes you back in time. We were told the burger is a must (yes I know, a burger in Paris?)… but my gosh, it was excellent and truly a must. The beef tartar and the goat cheese salad also deserves a mention. We will certainly come back here again, especially with a post dinner night cap available in the basement speakeasy bar. Perfect place to for a whole night of Parisian magic.

La Renommée was phenomenal. The ambience is perfectly intimate and chic. The food was absolutely incredible - I will be dreaming of the filet aux poivres. And the speakeasy is such a special treat to visit after dinner. I couldn’t recommend it more!!!

Not the best food or the best value from our time in Paris, but definitely the most beautiful and special feeling restaurant. It’s absolutely beautiful and the food is great. We spent half as much for a better dinner the night before, but again - this restaurant is so special.

While visiting Paris, we were able to snag a reservation for 6:30 pm for a table of 4. We were traveling as a family and really looked forward to eating here. The atmosphere there was dim, but very cozy, intimate, and comfortable. We were seated immediately after giving them our restoration name. Once seated, they handed our menus and the staff was incredible nice and patient. We ordered: the burger (signature MUST TRY), clam linguine, rabbit pasta (creamy base), steak au poivre, potato leek soup, and green beans. Steak a poivre: the steak cut like butter, so decadent and smooth. The sauce was more on the mild side (not as peppercorn-y), but still very good. We didn't have much steaks on this trip, so this one was really top notch quality. Burger: ICONIC! Please order this. This was not listed on the menu, so we asked the staff to add this on our menu. The burger is all the good, finger licking deliciousness. The pickle that came with it was even good! Rabbit Pasta: The rabbit meat was flavorful, and they did not skimp on the amount of rabbit meat. The pasta was cooked well, and the sauce adhered to the pasta really well. Thoroughly enjoyed this dish. Clam Linguine: my personal favorite of the night. The pasta was garlic-y and was swimming in a delicious white sauce. We also had green beans on the side. It had a nice tang to it. Def recommend coming !!!

It was an emotional dinner to be honest. I had no idea that there was a connection between La Renommée and my old home Chicago. I was told by the host that the burger they have is similar to the Au Cheval burger, which is a staple in the second city. I didn't hesitate to order it, and once it arrived I took that first bite and so many memories came back to me. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

No dinner reservations sadly for me but if you come early enough you can go to their lounge area which has the famous cheeseburger. The service was great, the staff is very friendly and speaks excellent English. The menu for the lounge is very small but the star of the show is the burger. It is a very good burger with a high price tag. If you are on a budget, check the menu before hand.

The staff were really friendly, and the escargot was delicious—highly recommend ordering it with a salad (i wish i did) However, the escargot and bone marrow together were way too rich and oily for sharing. We also seemed to have picked the wrong dishes since most people were ordering burgers… at a French restaurant. Maybe they knew something we didn’t. The pasta and scallops we ordered later were very butter-heavy, which didn’t sit well with me. The atmosphere was lovely, but for the price, I expected something a bit less overwhelming.

A fascinating spot for authentic French cuisine! The atmosphere is cozy and full of charm, and the staff is incredibly friendly. The food is excellent, with rich flavors and fresh ingredients. Definitely recommending the escargots, steak, burger and finally creme caramel. A perfect place for anyone craving true French dining. Make sure to book in advance. Highly recommended.
