"In the old town of Valletta, among the major tourist attractions, an authentic and flavourful traditional Maltese cuisine is served in a simple and informal setting. Among the most successful dishes are pulled rabbit rigatoni, homemade filled pasta, Maltese stuffed marrows, pan-fried octopus, and Aljotta, the island’s typical fish soup." - Michelin Inspector

Tremendiously good food. The traditional Maltese starter was quite tasty. The atmosphere was good. I loved the fact that it is on the street (much like other restaurants and cafes in Malta) but it was close to a place that had a live music session and it was a pleasant experience to dine like that. The staff was nice and did their job well.

We really enjoyed this lunch on the terrace. Good food, nice service, warm welcoming by the owner. It's worth to try La Pira.

I really liked the experience of eating here. The menu was simple and it was easy to tell the options apart from each other. Me and my partner shared a Maltese Special platter as an appetizer, Grilled Octopus as a main and the Local Imqaret as a desert. We got a full range of local flavours! The staff kept an eye on us and were responding very promptly to our requests. We were promptly served, everyhting went very smoothly. One detail, to get to the toilet you must go up a flight of stairs with very worn steps. The ceiling is very close to you, even for a person who is 1.6m tall. Mind your head!!

This places serves local Maltese cuisine. Was here to taste the national dish of Malta - Stuffat tal-Fenek. Food served was good. Service was good too.

Delicious specialties, lovely service. Quite a lot of pedestrians and a building under reconstruction will look different when it is finished. We had lovely spicy tuna pasta and a maltese specialty sausage with cheese as a starterand their traditional date based desert Imqaret. All lovely.

The best fresh pasta I ate in Valletta. Delicious wine and a good range available by the glass — even the bread was great. Also very friendly and a good atmosphere for solo diners which was lovely.

Went on a Monday night and it was packed out! Our server was fantastic and we had ordered drinks and entrees and received them within half an hr. The food was amazing. The gnocchi with maltese sausage was a highlight. Will return when again.

Wonderful street seating. Energetic atmosphere with great food. We had mussels and fries, and Grilled Octopus. The octopus was quite tender and delicious. The mussels in wine was extremely delicious. It was obvious that mussels were freshly caught and cooked with perfection. The portions were huge. Both dishes we ordered could easily be to share. Overall score 4.3/5 for a Maltese Kitchen
