"Tequila lovers will want to make a beeline to Midtown East for an evening at La Biblioteca ("The Library"), where more than 400 bottles of tequila and other agave-based spirits await. In addition to small-batch produced tequila, which you can order straight or in a cocktail, ask the bartender to pour you a serving of sotol or raicilla. These lesser-known agave spirits are gaining popularity north of the border but remain hard to find, especially outside of big cities."

Dark atmospheric basement bar with an extensive tequila menu. I've been several times and the bartenders are always extremely friendly. Worth coming on Monday evening as they have happy hour all night. They also have normal and "reverse" (late) happy hours during the week.

So delicious. This restaurant is below Zengo and has a limited food menu. I wish I thought to take pictures of the carne asada and chicken soft tacos along with the great guacamole and chips. The best flan we've ever had in our lives. Happy hour margs were good, too. You'll need your phone to see the menu, it's pretty dark! The bathroom sinks are cool, too.

I have come here for drinks and happy hour a few times since my friend lives nearby, and it’s a great spot for a drink and small plates. Their happy hour is solid, not the cheapest in the city but they serve great drinks and have a wide selection of tequilas available. The small plates are criminally underrated, especially the sushi rolls. For not being a sushi joint they make a great roll. It can be a bit dark since it’s beneath Zenga, but it’s a great spot to grab a drink and lounge with friends!

The happy hour menu is bomb. their tequila tasting is even bomber.

While a cool spot to drink, it’s never busy. We’ve tried going here several times as we live nearby and it is always slow/empty. It’s got a cool idea with the bar underground in a “alcohol library” feel, but needs a better crowd!! Interesting idea with midnight happy hour/reverse HH with food added to the menu. Prices are not bad.

Came here for happy hour drinks with co-workers on a Friday afternoon, early spring. You head downstairs in another restaurant/bar to get to this bar -- much better ambiance, downstairs. The bar is dimly lit with lots of great seating for groups to hang. I had a few margaritas. They were decent - a bit over-sweetened and under-tequilaed. Service was friendly, but a little slow. Somewhat understandable during a Friday happy hour. Also it was literally like pulling teeth getting any changes to the bill made, even when it was the servers mistake. Decent prices considering location, ambiance and crowd. I heard from friends who ordered food that it was satisfactory or better. I think I may come back at some point, maybe I'll order a different kind of drink...and I'll probably order food. We will see!

This spot can be hit or miss during happy hour. The bar front is small and makes it difficult when a full house to get a drink. The table spacing is ideal for small groups of 4 to 6. A large table in the center of the space works to bring people together and make the space more sociable. And I can't forget to mention that the tequila selection is on point. Really deserves a 3.5, could be higher if turnout was consistent and happy hour margaritas were priced a little better ($8 for a premixed drink seems a little steep even for this city).
