L2 Outside

I had a fantastic experience with L2 Outside. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and ready for our adventure. They were helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about our experience. The equipment was in perfect condition, making the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. I highly recommend them for anyone looking to rent kayaks (or SUPs).

Great experience every time! So easy to book and fill out forms via phone, so all you have to do it go to the drop off point. We do this with friends that come into town on the reg. I spoke with Kat this last time. She was awesome!

I rented a. tandem kayak for my daughter and son. The kayak was large enough for my granddaughter to ride too! It's an easy launch from Coolidge Park. Very nice folks running the business.

I had the best time paddleboarding along the Tennessee river! L2 Outside was amazing and very accommodating! My boyfriend and I were in town for Moon River music festival and this was such a fun addition to our trip! The staff is AMAZING! I highly recommend!

The equipment was ready and waiting for us on the Tennessee River. Two employees were present to assist us with both getting into our kayaks and exiting them. The equipment is clean and well maintained. The ride along the river is relaxing and beautiful.

My family had a great time on the water yesterday with L2. We rented paddle boards. They were there before our time, during our adventure and super helpful at the end. They were kind and the equipment was in perfect condition. We will definitely use them again.

Great location Very easy parking Staff all nice very helpful and made sure you were good to go before taking off. The store is also very nice and reasonable pricing. First time kayaking but my husbands 3rd time. We really enjoyed ourselves we had the Tandem Kayak for 2 I highly recommend going to L2 Outside. We will be coming back much more often

I rented a stand up paddle board from L2 to try it for the first time. The guys were awesome and helpful, the board was in great condition, and I ended up standing up on the board very quickly. Had one of the best times I've had in a while and definitely found a new hobby. If you're thinking about renting a paddle board or want to try it for the first time, you should; it's not difficult to get into and L2 is definitely who you should rent from. All you have to do is get to the river and they will have everything waiting for you. Thank you for a great Saturday morning L2!

Absolutely loved visiting L2 Outside! A great place to shop for several types of different boards. You can also get clothing, accessories, and other items here. If you are contemplating buying a paddle board, they even do rentals. The rentals are also a perfect way to explore and see Chattanooga from a different vantage point. You should definitely check out them out for a great and unique Chattanooga experience. *there are two entrances: One is off of River St. (look for the Paddle Board Rental sign) and second is on Market up past Locals Only Gifts & Goods.

Absolutely FANTASTIC time with Lynn leading us on a sunset cruise. She was on a SUP, we were in kayaks. Had an excellent experience, including getting swamped by a passing speedboat wake! Even though we were soaked, we still had a wonderful time. Extremely nice new owners! Loved meeting them!!!

My husband and I rented paddle boards and between the two of us had only one other paddle boarding experience! Being beginners, the staff was great at letting us know about the river current/conditions and which direction was best to paddle. After watching an instructional video we were on our way down to the launch point. Renting from L2 is super easy. There's lots of (paid) parking around Coolidge Park, the shop has a bathroom and small lockers, and we didn't have to do much else other than hop on our boards and paddle! If you're around during the week, they have some great specials Monday through Thursday.

These guys are awesome! I've gone paddleboarding before somewhere else but wanted to try a different location this time. Found L2 and was excited to find that they're located right in Coolidge Park, right by the river. Check-in was a breeze. You watch a little orientation video amd then the guys walked us down to the river with our paddleboards and paddles. Had a fun time on the river. When we were done, the guys were there at the launch point to collect our equipment. Easy breezy. The staff were very friendly. Would do it again.

I have never been paddle boarding & wanted to go somewhere trustworthy for a good first experience. It was INCREDIBLE. I went out with Lexy & she showed me how look like a professional even though I was a total rookie She was super experienced & helped me learn the ropes. Not to mention their location is perfect on the river in Coolidge Park. I would TOTALLY recommend to anyone to use L2 and especially request Lexy. When my out of town friends come visit I'm going to take them to L2 to go paddle boarding for a real chatt experience. I'm excited to go back & try kayaking with them too.

Arrived in Chattanooga today and decided to try stand up paddle boarding (SUP) on the Tennessee River. Went into the only shop on the riverfront L2. We signed up for the sunset tour. Staff was very friendly. We had a great time. Price was very reasonable and we got a great view of Chattanooga. Want to rent again during our trip! Highly recommend L2!

We rented kayaks for 2 hours and had a wonderful time. The store has a wonderful selection of Bote products and other outdoor items. Great customer service!!

Bought a pair of Rainbow flip flops which is a pair of several purchased from L2. I bought them in April 2021. They are the hemp which I've owned. They started fraying and I thought no big deal and trimmed. Month later they are fraying again and I trimmed them again. They started again and obviously a defective pair. Very nicely asked them to replace. They nor Rainbow would respond to emails or phone calls. I went back today and was told only a 60 day warranty. I've had them a little over 90 days and they will not refund or replace a defective product that they sold me. They must not back what they sell and I have purchased several pairs from them even from their previous location. I try to support small independent shops like this. Unfortunately the big box like Bass Pro will take a bad product back. Walmart is easier than L2 to deal with. I supported them back and provided them with space to launch their paddle business on the River when I was involved in the management of the waterfront. They just have a "don't care" attitude that they used to not have. Marty Puryear

This was a really fun experience. All of the employees are super nice. We rented a double kayak for my brother and I and a single kayak for my husband. They give clear safety instructions. I arrived in a wheelchair due to a recent injury. They were really good about helping me out. My wheelchair was left on the ramp so it was ready for my arrival. This is a really fun way to enjoy the river.

The customer service was great! Kat was so sweet over the phone helping me find the exact location! Even after not only calling to reschedule but also after I couldn't find my way! Once we finally found the location, the guys were nice and knowledgeable! Great prices too!

I love L2! Perhaps I'm biased... I used to work there... But this place was like a second home to me over the summer months! I know that they recently added the fuel food/drink section and I haven't been back since that addition, but I know that the staff has always been wonderful and welcoming. The paddle boarding is some of the best I'be experienced. The Tennessee river is mild and a beautiful paddle. Not to mention, L2 uses EXTREMELY quality boards in their rental fleet. It has made me a bit of a snob when I rent other places... The rentals are cheap! Just make sure to schedule ahead so you can walk in and be guaranteed a board. Lessons aren't too expensive and can help you feel extremely comfortable on the board if you are a first timer! Just writing this review makes me miss L2! If you haven't tried paddle boarding yet, let L2 teach you the ropes and find your new passion!

I discovered L2 via the web. I found their service and equipment to excellent!! The experience of walking from the shop past the Aquarium to the Tennessee River was awesome. I loved the paddle. Would highly recommend L2 to both experienced and novice SUP'ers who are looking for a great day!!

My boyfriend and I had a week off of work and were not sure what to do. Money has been tight and we didn't want to bust the bank. We decided on an overnight trip to Chattanooga to explore the outdoors. What was supposed to be 1 day and night turned into a 4 day weekend. The best part of the experience was kayaking in the river. Much thanks to L2 -- the first day we booked the current was a little strong. They refunded our booking and instead of recommending we rebook immediately, they saved us money by encouraged us to just call in the morning in case of rain (because they refund for strong currents, but not for weather). Good weather the next day - so we rebooked and had a great time!

It was my first time SUPing; I am beyond grateful that this place is here. The guy who helped my group was kind enough to give a brief walkthrough for us noobs after walking us out to the pier and patient enough to help my brother up from when he fell in. By far, they have my vote for the next time I rent a board.

Could have better directions on the internet for accessing the launch site at Coolidge Park. I initially went to the store at 100 Market St. and the attendant gave vague directions, I then crossed the bridge to discover it is not easy to find the launch site.

We had a great experience. The staff was very professional and nice. I would recommend the company invest in some waterproof timers/watches to attach to the rental equipment. My husband and I had to wait 30 minutes for someone to return their boards... even though we had made a reservations days before and we showed up on time. L2 refunded part of our money because they were booked for the whole day. The renters before us returned 45 minutes late. If there were timers or watches on the boards this could be prevented.

My wife and I came in to Chatt for the weekend to check out the city and enjoy our anniversary. We knew we wanted to explore downtown and the Tenneessee River, and found out about L2. We rented SUP boards and did the sunset tour. The employees were all very cordial and engaging, making us feel welcome and excited about our tour. On the tour, we had free range to go however fast or slow we wanted, and were able to really explore on our 1 hour trip. Thanks guys, we'll back!

We had a phenomenal experience! We decided to rent paddle boards as part of our anniversary outing together. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. Neither one of us had paddle boarded before, so I was a little nervous. But they did a great job explaining how to paddle board, making sure we were comfortable in the water and even made sure we were hydrated by giving us water bottles for our excursion. Most importantly, it was a ton of fun. We'll def be going back very soon!

Overall it was a pretty good experience... We had a lot of fun. The ladies that got us set up on the dock were super friendly and knowledgeable! The gentlemen inside, HOWEVER, were neither friendly nor helpful by any means! The ladies should give the guys a few tips on customer service!!

Sam provided good instructions before heading out as far as the best direction to take and how to insure a trip that would last about an hour. He pointed out things in nature to watch for and provided some steering tips for the paddles. It was an enjoyable experience, one we would definitely do again.

So glad we booked with L2! We called last minute and they were able to book us and we paid over the phone, making things very easy. The meet-up point was easy to find, due to great instructions we received while booking. Our instructor, Sam, was super friendly and knowledgeable. We were really happy with our experience, both because of the fun we had paddling and because Sam was great!

A surf shop in Tennessee. It is true and I saw the insides. Not quite the surf shop I'm used to in Jacksonville, FL but it does have SUPs. That's stand up surfboards for you in Reolinda. They do also have some baggies but I'm not sure that's what they called them here. Heck I even saw a few skateboards, mostly long boards but skateboards anyway. The place is small but it's a Surf Shop in Tennessee.

First time paddle boarding and they offered great instruction and were patient with us. I wish the directions for the launch site were more clear- we were late due to walking around Coolidge Park trying to find them. Overall, a very fun time!!

Great Time on the River! Sam was very helpful to us and offered great service down at the dock. I plan on going back.

My sister and I had a lot of fun this past weekend doing the SUP Sunset Tour. Our guide, Dirk, was very informative and made sure that everybody got back safely and even helped my sister when she had trouble. The Tennessee River is really nice for paddleboarding and the water was pretty calm. My only complaint was that I was coming from out of town so I didn't know where the market street bridge was and I called but nobody picked up and the mailbox was full, but I had no trouble finding the spot because there were a lot of paddleboards/kayaks under this one bridge. Overall, the paddleboarding experience was great and I highly recommend this company and tour, they really do a fantastic job!

Staff is super friendly, and paddle boarding on the Tennessee River is a must. Wish we had an opportunity to do paddle board yoga with the AWESOME teacher, who got in the water with my daughter and her friends and gave a little private and engaged in great conversation. Lastly, their apparel is super cute with "chatanoogia" printed on it!!! Overall, a great experience.

We rented kayaks from them while visiting Chattanooga. We were there on a Tuesday and got and extra hour for free. They carried the kayaks to the water for us (don't forget to add the tip when paying online) and were extremely helpfully with any questions we had. We would surely rent from them again and recommend that anyone visiting Chattanooga do the same.

Came by to shop at 7:30 and they were closing. Store hours are until 8:00pm. Was told I could come back tomorrow to shop.

I recently placed an order online. I received two order confirmations, And was charged for the order. I checked my order status online multiple times over 6 days. It always showed everything being good to go. After not receiving any shipping confirmation after 6 days I called the store, and sent an email only to hear back that the item I ordered had never been in stock and I would not be receiving it. No one informed me of this mistake until I pursued it. I was very disappointed about how this mistake was handled, or not handled and will unfortunately not be ordering from them again
