L’Appartement Sézane

Staff was extremely helpful. I brought in images of items that i wanted to try on (from the website). Two staff members helped me by quickly grabbing multiple sizes and a dressing room. Even snagged some restaurant reccos as I checked out. Oh and super cute clothes :)

I’ve shopped online, but first Sezane store I’ve visited in person. It was much smaller than I expected, almost more of a showroom? There were a handful of clothing racks, an accessory wall, and a wall of folded sweaters. They didn’t have the clothing items I was looking for, I ended up with 2 jewelry pieces. They didn’t have much of a size selection either, I’d stick to ordering online. The two gentleman working the sweater wall were a delight, but the female associate in back had an extremely rude attitude that drove us out of the store.

I never write reviews but I had to go out of my way for this because they went out of their way for me. Employees were extremely gracious friendly and attentive. I purchased a pair of pants online that did not fit, and they exchanged them in store quickly despite the fact they do not sell those pants in store. They even were very patient when I took a long time finding my order number. To be honest I expected to be sent away or treated rudely because I was not spending any more money but they were very gracious and helpful and even wrapped my pants up with a little bow. Thanks guys!! another reason I love this brand.

I made my first trip today and had a wonderful experience. I knew I wanted to buy a purse and when I arrived it was very busy inside. India was the first one to ask if we needed help with anything and she was so sweet to get the item I was looking for, letting me remove the stuffing and fully inspect what I was about to purchase. Checkout was effortless and she learned that it was my first time shopping at Sèzane and told me she added a small little gift inside which was such a sweet gesture. I had such a great first in -store experience and will be back in NYC to shop with them again.

I’ve been “pretend” shopping the Sézane app for months but wanted to wait to find my size of clothing at the store before ordering. No need to order. I walked out with everything I wanted. WOW! What a wonderful experience it was! The man at the front, letting people in started my experience off right. He was kind and thoughtful during my whole visit. Mason and Hannah were sweet and very accommodating, happy to fulfill any need or size request I had. I didn’t catch the other changing room lead but she was great too. As was Molly—Love her! I walked out with several bags of beautiful clothing and shoes (all of which felt well made!) and a huge smile. I am recovering from cancer treatment and they even fed me au pain chocolate when I felt lightheaded. And sent me home with gifts, like a cute t-shirt! I honestly wanted to go back the very next day. Thank you for making the wait worth it. I had a great time shopping at Sézane on Elizabeth and know I will feel fabulous in my new pieces. Bravo to the brand’s ethos and ethics. That is what brought me in. But even more— Applause to their staff, who made my experience perfect. I didn’t realize they were closing but never felt rushed to get out fast. I see the reviews now and wish I have read it before coming. I didn’t mind how minimal the shop is, I was going to try something on and then order online anyway, but the staff was almost trying to ignore customers. I finally was able to make my way to the fitting room and asked for a model and size of a shirt. After hearing the person working there checking on everyone else, I asked her again about the shirt and she was just looking at me saying: “it slipped my mind”. No sorry or anything. Got out of there then wanted to try on shoes, but then had to hunt an employee for attention, even though two of them were right there, not talking to anyone else. Like they were avoiding eye contact. I really like this brand and was able to order everything online, but it would’ve been nice to have the same experience in-store.

I really love Sezane as a brand, and was excited to learn there’s a store near my apartment. Unfortunately my in-store experiences have been so poor that I stopped going altogether and now buy all my sezane items on poshmark. As someone who has spent over a decade working in high-end retail I am deeply disappointed with the customer experience at Sezane. Employees are more concerned with taking photos of visuals than they are in learning about products and assisting customers. I know I can just buy things online, but the poor in-store experience is so bad that I don’t want to support the brand period. Which is disappointing as there’s so few B corp fashion companies.

The staff will act like it is the of the utmost inconvenience when you ask questions about the products or ask for additional sizes. I recently walked in again to make a return and the girls at the counter continued their conversation as if I wasn’t there standing in line at the front of the line to be helped. The clothes are beautiful but the customer service is horrible.
