Kvosin Downtown Hotel

Fabulous hotel. Lovely staff couldn’t have been more helpful, went above and beyond. If I go back to Reykjavik again I will 100% stay at this hotel. Right in the centre great location. Rooms were spacious and warm. Really enjoyed our stay there.

The staff are great, friendly, and helpful with information about both the area as well as the surrounding countryside. A few things we found that we had issues with were that they seemed to be missing about half the black out curtains in the room so there was still a ton of light coming in from the city (would be exponentially worse in the summer when the sun rarely sets) and the windows did not close tightly so noise and wind were able to come into the room.

We had a wonderful stay here. The room was big and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful to us on our trip. Other reviews have complained about noise , honestly, I slept so well and I get woken up easily. The hotel is in the middle of Reykjavík where people go to party and there is a lot of tourists there is also a church opposite that dings every 15 mins or so. It's really no big deal. The hotel even provide you with ear plugs to help you sleep. I really loved it here and we plan to come back asap

We booked this hotel for our first ever trip to Iceland based on its location and pictures on the internet. It looked lovely and we were very much looking forward to our stay. After a 10 hr journey, we arrived travel worn but excited for our commencing holiday. As we stepped through the doors and made our way to the reception counter, we were brusquely asked to provide our ID and credit cards. No friendly welcome or even an inquiry if we’d had a pleasant trip. We were so taken aback that we couldn’t even think of a comeback. It was an order, delivered military style, and we felt like tardy teenagers that arrived home late and needed to be shown who was in charge! The room itself was ok, but somehow lacked the coziness we’d expected. It has a small kitchenette but bizarrely no fridge. We could not fully connect with the space. Now to the noise of the place. There is zero sound insulation and if you’re a light sleeper, prepare to lie in bed and essentially count how many door slams you’ll hear throughout the night! Don’t think I had more than a couple of hours of sleep a night here.|On the upside, the location is fantastic. Everything was in walking distance and we really enjoyed being in the centre of town. |Continental breakfast was nice and set us up for the day.|The day reception staff were a lot friendlier than our first impression but we’re still quite puzzled as to why paying guests would not be given a warm and authentic welcome on arrival.|All in all, I don’t think I’d recommend this hotel as it just wasn’t a place to rest after long days of exploring.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Kvosin Downtown Hotel at the end of October! The location is just perfect - easy walk to various restaurants and activities. The staff was very friendly and informative. The room was wonderful and comfortable. We'd totally stay again!

Excellent stay at a top location in Reykjavik, in a beautiful building. Great spacious “rooms” - rather studios - with separate bedroom and kitchen / sitting arrangements, very cosy and comfortable. Excellent service, perfectly cleaned and always friendly assistance from all staff. Highly to be recommended!

We had such a wonderful time staying here. The 2 rooms we had (the bigger room) were spacious, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff were an absolute pleasure to meet and very helpful with all their suggestions.

Nice little hotel, unfortunately the breakfast is scarce and we could not even get an expresso even though the machine is 1 meter away, but they refuse to do it. Also no scramble eggs, sausages, bacon or anything like that. The front desk people are very friendly and helpful.
