KUNA - Lima - Larcomar

We had a wonderful shopping experience at KUNA at Larcomar. The staff were friendly and helpful. They did have a number of items that were disconnected however you needed to get lucky to find one that you liked and in your size which we did! We were able to acquire a ladies coat that was 100% baby alpaca. Although we bought a number of baby alpaca items throughout our trip, what impressed us with this store was their choice of colors and design. Although many other stores offer more traditional garments, KUNA garments have more contemporary designs that would flow more seamlessly into your wardrobe as opposed to acquiring a novelty piece on a vacation you would not wear in your everyday life once you get home. Many of the more elegant items made of Vicuna were extremely tempting...but pricey! We look forward to coming back to Peru in the future and acquiring one of these more elegant pieces as an addition to the wardrobe.

Beware they don’t take returns. Exchange was valid within 30 days on the receipt except they wouldn’t let me exchange (for same item) saying that the tax free form was already printed and they couldn’t reprint it. After much back and forth, they let me exchange for a different size. Truly worst customer and after service. There are better alpaca stores nearby that are much better and take returns & exchanges.

Super expensive for okay quality. Nothing was bad, bit nothing blew my mind either. The protons were okay size. Hard to get to. A bit far from everything. Lots of staff, but service was slow as well.

They asked for my friend's passport- to not charge her the local tax. However, they charged her the local tax. And stole the $400 that she had in advertently stashed inside the pages of the passport. When she called later when she realized the money was missing, they said well nothing showed up on the camera. Why would they have checked the camera before they were told the money was missing? Very suspect. They took advantage of my friend who was sleep deprived and jetlagged. Shame shame.
