Decided to try this place again a few days ago. I went on Friday, about three in the afternoon.
Place was practically empty again, though I was seated right away. The table was directly under an air conditioner that was very cold, which did lessen my experience a bit, but I didn't have the gumption to ask to sit at a different table.
This time I ordered my food and Pepsi, I ordered a ribeye, short rib, and Angus Chuck flap tail, along with a bunch of vegetables.
I definitely got more garlic than I needed, and either they accidentally gave me a double portion or I would recommend they shorten that portion of garlic a little.
The flap tail was really good, it had a sesame base marinade. The Steak was good too, I seasoned mine with salt and pepper (the veggie too) and that made it perfect to eat with the sauce I made.
While I was cooking my short rib, having already finished my other meats, I ordered their thin sliced prime brisket.
My only issue really occurred near the end; my waitress was proactive in asking if I want my pan changed once. But then later in my meal when she suddenly turned my grill off, I thought she was going to do another pan change because I still had raw meat left. But she didn't.
I tried to cook the rest of my food with the residual heat, but it only pulled up the char from the grill and made it taste nasty, which was ashame.
Also tried their new crawfish that they have next to their sauce station; I don't know if it was because they were sitting out a long time or were previously frozen and old, but I got several big crawfish, only to open them and see tiny shrunken tail meat that was rubbery and tasted too fishy.
The ice cream at the end they offer now is nice, it's Hershey's brand, and says ice cream and not 'ice cream product', so it's actual ice cream.
This time was better than my last, but I didn't like how she turned my grill off without asking if I was done, and I was only about an hour through my time. The place hadn't even gotten busy, there was at max, like ten tables including me, and one had just been seated.
Having come back a few months from my last visit, I would say definitely need to have the servers be more communicative. Ask if the person is done eating. You can even do this non-directly, by asking 'do you need a grill change?', 'would you like to order more?', 'Is there anything I can get you?'.
Not just turn my grill off out of nowhere with no communication. As I type this, I realize I felt so rushed at that big, I didn't do my customary thing at the end were I get some oranges from the banchan station, which I always do to end my meal at a KBBQ/Buffet place. Dang.
Also that's another way servers can discreetly see if their table is done, if they're getting dessert.
