"Breakfast with Benefits Near Temple of Literature A long-standing Hanoi institution, KOTO (Know One Teach One) is still going strong. Founded by Vietnamese-Australian Jimmy Pham as a way to teach disadvantaged children hospitality skills, the KOTO social enterprise has become a major success story. The original Hanoi cafe just over the road from the Temple of Literature is open all day and serves an impressive array of Vietnamese and international dishes. Breakfast is particularly alluring with a wide range of options, great coffee, and tasty smoothies providing an uplifting start to the day."

Really good food, thoughtfully prepared, creative and beautifully presented. Service is attentive and effective. It can be a little noisy inside, some softer materials could help dampen the sound. Also quite pricy but worth it.

Great new place in Tay Ho for a Western-style brunch with some Vietnamese influence (they're also open for dinner with a separate dinner menu but I haven't tried this yet). Visited on opening day which was incredibly busy, but the staff were still very attentive and friendly. Coffee was great and reasonably priced compared to the competition. Scrambled eggs were the best tasting I've had in Hanoi so far and are accompanied by a great fluffy, soft piece of bread and beetroot hummus. While the portions aren't the largest, the price is very reasonable for the quality of ingredients and the presentation you get.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel. It was amazing. Run by young disadvantaged students as part of a two year training course .The food was outstanding . The service excellent , and the staff wanted to help in everyway , right from entering to leaving. There were two set menus and an a la carte service. We had the three course set menu , spring rolls , duck and chocolate souffle dessert. I have never eaten so well and for such good value . You have to go.

One of my favourite places to eat in Hanoi. The menu is exceptional and everything my husband and I’ve tried was delicious, coconut chicken and Koto spicy tea being my absolute favourite. The members of the staff were so very kind and welcoming, I loved their attitude!

Absolutely love the concept behind Koto! Really recommend the Ginger Kombucha for a starter or finish drink. The Prawn cakes, black tempura squid and Salmon were really good. My duck was overcooked unfortunately. Thankyou to our waitstaff and the friendliness shown was very warming.

This was an excellent meal. We went on a Sunday night and the restaurant was completely empty so we were a little apprehensive about going in. The servers were very pleasant and each course was delicious. We both got the set menus and picked different items to share. Good value.

Such nice food, I had to review it now whilst still in the restaurant. Easily the best food I have had in Hanoi so far. Staff are super friendly and genuinely very nice people. I will come here again and definitely recommend this 100%. You will not be disappointed!

Great place to have an excellent meal with a bite of social responsibility. KOTO comes from Know One, Teach One and was established as training center for disadvantaged and at risk youth in Vietnam. Young people through hospitality learn their pathway for life and the restaurant is the field for this learning. Food was delicious and the place was pretty busy for lunch. If you like to come in the evening, call and a table in advance.
