"No matter the time of year you visit, Lake Königssee always inspires awe. Summer means shimmering water in shades of emerald and sage green, while winter brings a cold, misty atmosphere with otherworldly light. Take a boat ride along the pristine fjord, past rugged cliffs and the Baroque-style St. Bartholomew’s Church. When your guide plays his trumpet, listen for the magical echo from the mountains."

Even though we didn’t take the ferry nor we went up with the lift, we had a wonderful experience hiking next to the lake. The hike was moderate, and it’s better to bring good shoes when it’s winter, since it can be slippery when there’s ice. We had beautiful views but at the end, because of the fog or trees, we couldn’t see the lake as clearly as we would’ve liked it. Either way it was a wonderful experience.

Very beautiful blue water and a view to the Alps. Unfortunately it was really full during August. It made me a bit sad, that it's made completely into a tourist spot, so if you don't want to spend money there is not much to see and do. (Besides swimming in a very small area)

This is an idyllic lake with quaint towns along its shore. Definitely buy a ticket on the ferry. The tickets are purchased according to which town will be its furthest destination. If you're right on time, then just purchase a ticket to the first town.

heard a lot and I got opportunity to visit in winter. We took a boat ride which you have to buy both ways. Don’t know the reason. I think boat ride is worth if never did something like this but in general there is nothing special. Boats are well maintained Parking there is great.. free washrooms for us Biggest issue is with food. Not a single good restaurant

Went there in the month of December. 30.12.2024 Connectivity from Freilassing & Salzburg both is quiet good. You have a bus to & from Salzburg every hour. The cost of the boat ride costs 22.50€ and lasts for around 1 hour in total. Its worth it.

One of the most beautiful places in the area. Did a day trip from Munich and was very delighted. We drove and parked in the parking place which was around €7 and then we got boat tickets across the lake. Electric powered boats which were very comfortable and the staff very friendly. The water is crystal clear and the boats are covered for when it rained
