Klondike Rib & Salmon

The Owner/Hostess was extremely accommodating to our request, she was super friendly and even spoiled our special guest. Her staff was also wonderful and service was on point. The food was absolutely delicious and we sat on the beautiful front patio on a lovely day which added to the ambiance. By far one of the best places we have stopped at in the Yukon.

Had a great dinner, the best meal in Whitehorse to date, very polite and professional, loved the salmon, halibut, and ribs. The brownie was very good too (very large portion!). We hope to go again before we leave!!

Delicious!!! The elk stroganoff was wonderful. Service was amazing too. We’ll be back next time through Whitehorse.

First the waitress was amazing. I had the award winning halibut but for me it would not be something I order again. I prefer for my fish to be fresh and it did not taste or smell fresh. The seating out the back was hot with no airflow. The chairs were hard metal and not comfortable for me. If you need a warm place and sturdy seating it would be the place to go. My daughter had the chicken sandwich and fries which she enjoyed and pictured here.

Had a Kickass Klondike Burger and it was fabulous!!! We didn't know they reopened recently. We also love the atmosphere and workers. Very friendly and fun. The restaurant is on the Main Street. Easy parking.

Discouraging Anniversary Experience Met by the hostess/manager? who seated us at a table directly in front of two toilets and the kitchen. We asked her if we could be seated elsewhere and she abruptly replied “no” that the other room would be hot. We decided to leave and she agreed to move us to the other room. We were silently reading the menu when she approached again and stated that we would not be allowed to move again. We were confused by her confrontational attitude and my husband politely said that we were just fine. We selected our meals and the waitress told us that we were accidentally given the wrong outdated menu and that we were going to have to select another meal from a new menu. We complied, the halibut was very good, vegetables under cooked and we finished and asked for our bill. We were taking a photo and the hostess/manager? offered to take one for our anniversary. As we were getting ready to pay the bill, she came by and asked us if we would like a dessert to go and suggested several. We chose a piece of berry pie. She brought it in a container and told us Happy Anniversary. The waitress asked us about the container and added $12.95 to our bill for one piece of pie. We were surprised, but just paid the bill of over $100 and left. When we arrived at home and opened the container, there was a very small piece of pie with very little filling—barely a tablespoon for almost $13. See photo.

Stopped by late afternoon and was greeted warmly by the hostess. She immediately offered me a table on the cute front patio, surrounded by flowers and covered by an umbrella to keep the sun off on a very warm day. The staff was very attentive and made recommendations. I had the crab cakes. Full stop - they were so delicious! Light, bursting with flavour, and accompanied by a light greens salad and a tasty drizzle. I could have just had these and been satisfied!!! I also ordered the House special with two maple salmon skewers and their ribs. The accompaniments for the main meal were very well done. A pickled beet, garlicky mashed potatoes, some veggies, baked beans and corn bread muffin. The portions were generous. The salmon was a bit dry for my liking, and I could not really get a sense of any maple. The ribs were tender and had a nice taste. A very unique and worthwhile place to eat at least once on your trip. I will be back for the crab cakes!

Excellent food. Generous portions. Very friendly and attentive host. Cool busy atmosphere. Seasonal so we were lucky to visit while on our trip. Would eat here again without hesitation.
