Cuines Santa Caterina

On January 5, 2025, around 8:00 PM, I visited this restaurant and ordered the Spanish seafood paella for 22 euros. The paella only came with two shrimps, was overly salty, every mussel was full of sand, and the taste was extremely strong and not fresh at all. I experienced continuous vomiting and diarrhea for 5 days. Symptoms included fever, weakness, dizziness, nausea, and diarrhea. After reading the reviews, I found out that other people also got food poisoning from this seafood paella! I strongly advise anyone considering trying this place to think twice!

Amazing food, totally recommend for people who haven’t had authentic Spanish food yet. The service is great, and the restaurant is just beautiful. The bar, kitchen and dessert areas are all super visible to customers and it’s all fun times.

First time trying fideua in Spain, was interesting. fried potato with sauce was good. cava the sparking wine was basic. friendly staff, nice interior seating. *entrance is not very clear though.

Very nice locale right next to the charming market of Santa Caterina. It serves a variety of typical Spanish dishes for a somewhat decent price (considering it is central Barcelona). It had an interesting approach to the menu as it has the dishes presented in a grid depending on a set of variables. Would recommend if you are near el Born and don't know what to eat.

I thought the place was well laid out and the food was amazing! I had the fideo paella and potatas bravas and my wife has the bolognese. The fresh bread was also a nice touch. Prices were reasonable and service was excellent.

Food was good. We were 4 friends who went for lunch, again after being super hungry with all the walking. Vegetarian ravioli was good and so was the patatas bravas. Sauce felt like a thick cream of mushroom soup and I liked it - very unique. My friend's enjoyed their lamb and paella but not the best paella in Barcelona. They also liked the fresh Watermelon juice while I enjoyed a glass of beer. We mainly picked this place cause of paella, interiors and 4star plus reviews but honestly the highlight for me was the interiors and not the food. I'm in this place for less than a week, and I know it's home to the best tapas, paella, sangria, etc hence this won't be my pick but if I lived in Barcelona then I won't mind coming here for beer and patatas and vibe. Food would be 3.5 stars. Service was not great. I would give 2.5 stars. Only cause of atmosphere, I'm rounding the stars up!

Lovely spacious and vibrant space. Truffle bread could send you to heaven. The lamb was shockingly fall-apart tender. The mussel/clam dish had a delightful herbed oil. A little sandy though.
