"Families have plenty of options for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free fare at this Highland Park gem. The kid-friendly space has a fenced play area and serves a special kids’ menu with tried-and-true staples like mac and cheese and silver dollar pancakes." - Eater Staff
"Vegetarian paradise, vegan friendly and gluten free. Kitchen mouse delivers a unique and flavor full experience. This cozy little spot consistently excites our taste buds. Featured in our latest visit are the Crispy Gomasio Rice Cakes made with oyster mushrooms and a cilantro ginger chutney (you can add an egg to your dish as an option), the Tempeh Reuben with sauerkraut, chipotle aioli and cashew cream and the Brown Rice Pesto Bowl served with oyster mushrooms." - Friend of a Friend
"Your 13-year-old little cousin is going to love Kitchen Mouse. From that name to the cutesy interior, this Highland Park spot might be adorable, but it’s also full of tasty healthy food that’s mostly gluten-free and vegan. The lunch move here is one of the bowls, but they also do breakfast until 3pm, meaning chilaquiles are in your future." - jess basser sanders, brant cox

"Highland Park’s vegan-leaning Kitchen Mouse cafe seems to be set for more expansion in the neighborhood, this time moving south along Figueroa to take over a former doughnut shop space next door to Taco Fiesta. Signage is up for the incoming project now, though so far there’s no formal word on just what to expect there. Late last fall, the group also took over the closed Mr. Holmes Bakehouse space around the corner on Avenue 59, repurposing it into a standalone bakery and catering operation." - Farley Elliott
