The 11 Best Breweries In The Hudson Valley & The Catskills 2024 - Hudson Valley - The Infatuation

"Kingston is exploding with new restaurants, bars, and event spaces—it’s walkable city life, right next to the mountains. Kingston Standard, located in an old transmission shop, has been a stalwart welcoming spot in Midtown for people who love fresh, crispy beers paired with some of the best pizza in town. The food and beer ordering situation is casual: hop up to the counter to see what’s fresh that day, then find a seat outside at one of the picnic tables wrapped around the building. You can’t go wrong with one of their lagers, but the kolsch and the schwarzbier are the standouts. If they have oysters that day, you lucked out—they’re a must." - keith hernandez

Darn it! Forgot to take pics of the food, which was good! Got the seasonal butternut squash pizza, it was savory and yummy. Pepperoni pizza, which was great and the knackwurst ..soooo good. Get it! My favorite beer was the wee heavy scotch ale. It was perfection. Hubby had an old fashioned and we also had a spiked cider. Worth the stop.

Stopped in on the way the Headless Horseman Hayrides after a long drive and the bartender was awesome and patient with us. The Schwarzbier was the best I've ever had, the pizza and arugula salad were outstanding as well. Great spot glad we stopped!

Great brewery in Kingston! We ordered some pale ales and the El Dorado Lager, all great beers. And the Margherita pizza was delicious! Very fresh and the dough was light and soft. We had to come back the next day and try the other pizza options! There was outdoor seating and indoor as well, and the staff were friendly.

Excellent. The food and beer is delicious and the focus on European beers is welcome break from typical IPA overload. Cool spot and friendly staff. They’ve got a good thing going.

One of our favorite places in Kingston. Delicious pizza and oysters. Really friendly staff. Tasty, cold beer! Relaxed environment and lots of dogs (always a plus.) Go around the corner to the Meat Wagon after and buy some prosciutto after feeling inspired to make some more pizza.

Nano brewery with some really cool barrel aged sours and awesome sourdough pizza. Props for their community pizza program for feeding those less fortunate. Cheers. Pizza was so good I forgot to take a picture.

Came here after a hike and was blown away. Solid food options and had the best pale ale I ever had. Immediately went to purchase a 4pack. If you’re in the area this is a must!

Visited on a Saturday afternoon in the middle of May. Nice spacious brewery taproom with seating both inside and out. Somewhat small range of beers on tap, with a seeming emphasis on old world styles (which I like). The rauchbier I had was excellent. Only one serving size offered. Average prices. Friendly and attentive service. Appealing food menu but we weren’t eating during our visit. Had a good experience here and I’d be interested in returning to try some more beers and perhaps some food.
