Super night last Saturday. Staff were really friendly, the show was really good, laughed a lot. Many talented acts! People and vibes are very warm and friendly. Music is on the ball. Happy Hour until 12 and drinks are reasonable (for Reykjavík). Would recommend for people wanting to have a great night

I wanted to love this place. It was mediocre at best. Cons: there is terrible ventilation so it gets hot & steamy quick on a busy night. If people are smoking downstairs outside, you bet you’re going to smell it. Bathrooms were way too dark, you could barely see anything and they smell. Lastly, the space is small so they run out of seats fast on drag nights. I can appreciate what it’s supposed to represent, a safe space for the queers—but it needs work.

I went to this bar with my parents for the aperitif and I ordered a homemade cocktail without alcohol which was, by the way, amazing. When I returned back my empty glass, a few minutes later, the bartender gave me another same cocktail for free, this was just lovely! So, I really recommend this bar to all people who want to have a break in a great atmosphere and to relax with some good music. In addition, thanks a lot to the 2 bartenders, who are just super nice and friendly and thanks for the second cocktail 😉 Yaël, from France 🇫🇷👋🏻 P.S: this bar is LGBTQ+ friendly 🏳️‍🌈😄

Having read many, many highly negative reviews of Kiki, I was hesitant to even visit. In fact, I had to wait until my 7th visit to Iceland to summon the confidence to even visit the establishment. One of the most common complaints is that staff and security are unpleasant, rude, aggressive etc. My experience was anything but. I found them to be friendly and welcoming throughout. No issues at all. The bar area is smaller than you'd expect for a gay bar, but it's sufficient. The bar staff were friendly throughout, too, and never found an issue. It was a Thursday night and karaoke was going on - and we really enjoyed it; in fact, stayed much longer than we had originally intended. The only small issue is that the front door is kept open the entire time, meaning the actual bar area gets quite cold! Too cold, in fact, and most had to put on their jackets. I understand that Iceland is cold, but the bars don't need to be! This was the only bar in Iceland in 7 visits where I felt too cold. In all, I enjoyed my experience here and it was thankfully not the negative experience that others claim to have had. It's worth remembering that many young people hold a grudge against bars because they are probably too tipsy or on the verge of it - and take that out at the security staff, assuming there's some hidden motive. More often than not, there isn't - and I guess this is the reason for most negative reviews. Would I come back? Absolutely!

First time in Reykjavik, felt the most isolated at trying to enter a gay bar tonight. Me and my friends will consider whether Reykjavik is truly a gay friendly city...

Super fun night out in August, great acts! Came here five years ago and fantastic to be back here on our Icelandic tour. Great to have this LGBTQ+ venue here ♥️

I had an amazing time in Kiki! Bartenders and customers were so welcoming and super nice 😊 LOVE the karaoke night, they should definitely open 7 days a week!! Some feedback to add on, the host Daniel has a nice voice but would be nicer to give the stage more to the guests, and hold the mic further when he’s singing as it was really loud, literally screaming 😅

Absolutely no complaints about those working here. Bartenders were lovely, and the drag performers were brilliant/very funny. But Jesus, I lived in London for 5 years and have never encountered such awful vibes of clientele in a queer bar. Genuinely just horrendous.
