Khwai Lediba

This was the final stop on our African safari tour, so we arrived with high expectations! Khwai Lediba exceeded these on every level. From the moment we arrived, the staff were extremely friendly, welcoming, efficient, professional and great fun! Nothing was too much trouble.||The very well-appointed tented accommodation was extremely comfortable with great attention to detail. The food throughout our stay was excellent. The chef and his great team presented a wide range of beautifully prepared flavourful dishes, always served with a smile. The daily afternoon tea was a treat and the cake kindly prepared for my wife’s birthday was an absolute highlight!||Our guide Ginger was amazing. His passion for Botswana, his vast knowledge of the wildlife and Moreme, together with his enthusiasm, made the game drives truly inspiring. The helicopter ride over the Delta and the mokoro water safari added an extra unforgettable dimension to our stay.||All of the above created a very friendly, positive and relaxed atmosphere, so that we genuinely felt “at home”. Whilst all the staff were excellent, our special thanks go to Selly, Bronwyn and Ginger for making our stay so memorable.||We were truly sorry to leave and would recommend and return to Khwai Lediba without hesitation.

We enjoyed a four-night stay and it was outstanding. This was our first safari experience. Our guide Phefo picked us up from the airstrip and brought us to the camp, where the assembled staff sang to greet us (I am not sure if most safari camps do this or only those run by African Bush Camps, but it is charming). We had a beautiful tented cabin facing the Moremi Game Reserve and often saw wildlife from our deck. You are really ensconced among the wildlife here; sometimes elephants come through the camp, or hippos or baboons. We had wonderful game drives during which we saw so much wildlife, from elephants to honey badgers. We enjoyed a walking safari, where we learned about different tracks and other animal sign, and a mokoro safari, which was terrifically peaceful. The food was very good and we enjoyed sitting down to meals with our fellow guests. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We were so impressed by our guide. Our experience was simply fantastic.

Khwai Lediba was our first stop on our African adventure and it set the bar very high for the remainder of the trip. I travelled as single mom with my 11 yo son and could not have felt more taken care of. The staff was amazing, always smiling and genuinely friendly and helpful. Our guide was Phefo and he was simply amazing. He was so great with my son, who is very shy, and taught him so many cool things and helped make him feel relaxed. I was amazed at how knowledgeable he was about literally everything. Botswana and Khwai were so special. We can’t wait to return!

Fantastic first Africa Bush Camps experience. Everybody working there was wonderful - we remember you all and hope to come back some day! Special shout out to (the best) host Mimi and guide Gilbert. Best tent of our trip, also. Not only did we experience so much amazing wildlife up close and personal but we learned so much. Thank you for teaching us and sharing your amazing area and country.

We had an amazing 3 night stay at Lediba. Every single staff member went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. The accommodations were fantastic from the tents to the common camp areas, the staff really take care of the property with pride and it is very evident.||Our host was Mimi, who was amazing at making us feel comfortable and having everything we needed. She even travelled over 40 minutes to surprise us after our makoro excursion with sundowner drinks and snacks. She seamlessly coordinated everything for us making our stay so enjoyable and relaxing. Helga and Kopo also worked hard to make sure we were taken care of during our entire stay at any time of the day.||What really made the experience for us was our amazing guide Gilbert. His passion and love for what he does was incredible and made our experience at Lediba beyond 5 star. He was incredibly knowledgeable and personable and went above and beyond to make sure we had the best game viewing experience possible. He took us on numerous game drives in the morning, afternoon and even night drives and got us to see so many more animals than what we were expecting.||Overall incredible experience here and wanted to say we also really enjoyed that our guide and host joined us for meals and sat and talked with us which made us feel like friends. This really elevated our experience here and glad that this is part of the African bush camp experience!

Khwai was the most wonderful place to start our African visit. Our father who is 88 wanted to visit Africa and go on Safari and the Khwai Lediba was the perfect place to start. The entire team there, starting with Mimi, the hostess to the rest of the crew as well as our outstanding guide Gilbert made us feel so welcomed. The food was outstanding and I have never had such great care with individual preferences. My sister is a vegetarian and for every meal she had several fantastic options. I don't like tomatoes and my brother doesn't like bananas. So any meal that contained either of these included something that was a substitute for us. For example, I had a special salad when tomatoes were in the main salad. My brother had a special dessert when bananas were part of the main dessert option. Our every need was met and then some. Gilbert was so fantastic and made sure at all times that we were comfortable and was especially attentive to our father to be sure he wasn't getting too jostled in the jeep and that he was comfortable at all times. He also understood photo lighting and would change locations to get us the best light for our pictures. On our last night Mimi and the staff provided us with our own family dinner so that we could enjoy our last night there together. It was wonderful such a special touch. I have never had this type of service in the best 5 star hotel. A couple of things to keep in mind when you travel here. The early morning game drives can be quite chilly. I had gloves and a beanie in addition to several layers. As the weather warmed up I was able to peel off layers. There was not much walking but it can be quite dusty. So keep that in mind when you plan your shoe choices. They have a pool which is quite chilly, but can be quite refreshing after the game drives.

As far as a camping experience goes, this was a comfortable stay at Khwai tented camp. I had my own en-suite bathroom as part of the double bed tent. Just carry flip flops for the shower. As there are no fencing anywhere, I had an elephant eat right outside my tent at 1am. Woke up in a fright but was so cool. Recommended.

Amazing stay. Camp just opened in June 2023 everything was brandnew! Lovely host, amazing staff & guides! We've had the best time here!
