Khao Soi Mae Manee

Came here on recommendation of Mark Wiens video, and pretty disappointed. The Khao Soi beef and chicken were nothing special. Not fragrant, mild flavor, even after adjusting seasoning. The restaurant was relatively welcoming and full of locals when we arrived. It has received rewards from the Michelin guide recently until 2022. It is a bit far away from the center and 100% not worth the trip for the food.

Not my cup of tea as I like more of a sweeter side and thick curry soup. The taste is mild. A bit salty and no sweet at all for the curry. There are several choices of meat to choose from and this shop is English friendly. Flat egg Noodles are nice and chewy. My favorite Khao Soi Shop is still (mentioned on netflix) Lung Prakit’s.

I really disappointed in this Khao soi restaurant, I went there because of the fame of Michelin recommended, but it was the worst Khao Soi expérience ever, I had tried at least 30 Khao soi restaurant, including in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, this is the one I never come back again.

Awesome spot for khao soi! The noodles were my favorite around town. Very tasty broth and delicous meats. We got a beef khao soi and a chicken. I preferred the beef version here over their chicken one. It was delicious with a bit of dark soy sauce. Both versions were great, but beef was the winner here for me! We also tried their nam ngiao, and it was also pretty good. Great spot to try out if you're in Chiang mai!

I hadn’t been here in well over a year so I decided to pop back in and see how things were holding up. I noticed they retained their Michelin recommended for 2024, which is great! I still love the more al dente style egg noodles and the tenderness of the beef. The curry tasted a bit different to how I had remembered it, but it still is thick and smoky and full of spices. Traditional Thai kitchen/restaurant serving a uniquely individual beef khao soi with intense umami flavours. Extremely tender pieces of beef in a spicy broth with a side plate of pickled mustard leaves and tiny shallot hearts. There's condiments of chili sauce and an unusual dark soy sauce with molasses added to adjust the taste to suit. It's a little out of the way, about a fifteen minute drive north of the centre and slightly more expensive than other khao soi outlets but definitely worthwhile trying for the unique flavour.

It is a local street food stall. Quite spacious. OMO (one man operation) lady who cooks and serves able to speak little English. Ordered 2 Khao Soi dishes with beef and pork. The soup is thick and spicy. It's not too spicy, though. Noodle is well cooked. Before you have your first taste, squeeze some lime to your liking. Have the onion and salted vegetables separately The proportion of the cooked noodle and the fried noodle is just nice for you to feel the crunchy part and the soft textured part. I strongly recommend it with beef. The beef is very well cooked. Big chunk of beef that melts not on your chopsticks but in your mouth.
