"Shopping in the Heart of Oslo Stretching from Oslo Central Station in the East to the Royal Palace in the West, Karl Johans Gate is named after King Karl III Johan, who ruled Norway and Sweden in the 19th century. Along the street you'll find many famous highlights, like the National Theatre, the Parliament, the Royal Palace (the pond of which serves as a skating rink in the winter) Central Station, The Grand Hotel - and of course, plenty of shops. The Bazaar Market (Basarene ved Oslo domkirke) is a particularly colorful place to spend your money. Popular with locals, travelers & gypsies of all sorts, no "must visit" list in Norway would be complete without at least a mention of the venerable Karl Johans Gate plaza."

The most vibrant street leading to Central Station is lined with shops and cafes. This bustling street connects the parliament to the station and is full of people. I highly recommend a visit, especially for Asian tourists; it's a very pleasant walk.

Very delightful street going up to the Royal Palace, and going back down you get a nice view of the city. This is one of the most lively and well-known streets in Oslo, so very worthwhile to go for a stroll up or down this famous street and take photos of amazing views.

It is summer time now and this place is so beautiful, lively and full of people enjoying walking on the street and drinking in the pub by the streets. There are many good shopping malls for you to buy your stuff, both for locals and tourist. There are people gathering here protesting around for various issues happening around the World as well. Worth to come and soak in the environment whenever you are in Oslo.

Great street to stroll and shop on in Oslo. Be sure to check it out when you are in town. There are a large number of retailers, including name brand and high end shops, restaurants, cafes, and other stores.

Shopping, shopping and more shopping! If you are a foreign visitor like to shop and get a sale tax return between 15 to 18% do remember to bring your passport with you! Most shops will fill out a receipt that you can turn it in at the airport , the sales tax will return to your account or most likely your credit card.
