This legendary restaurant in the neighborhood holds a mysterious allure because it is rarely lit when you pass it in the evening with the knowledge that it is a hot spot for gourmet diners. Eventually, we saw the lights were on when we were in the vicinity this afternoon and summoned all our courage to slide open its door, only to be confronted by the big smile on the master chef’s face. The menu was somewhat unusual with items such as sea urchin roe (uni) on cold slices of wagyu beef, fresh-water turtle soup, cod’s milt in vinegar, and luxurious croquette stuffed with abalone cubes. Their surface-seared tuna doesn’t taste like ordinary boring bland tuna but provides you with a satisfying culinary sensation!

Go there EARLY, it opens earlier than stated and sells out FAST. Menus changes daily based on what the master has for the day. Just see what other people are ordering and point politely. That simmered beef bowl was divine. Uni with wagyu was not too bad to be honest. Fried abalone croquette & tuna steak was decent as well. Crabs were skippable for me, werent that good. Not a must go place but heck man I would totally return for his simmered beef bowl.

Five stars isn't enough. This is an amazing little 13 person standing restaurant in an unasuming location. I couldn't imagine that a single dish would disappoint. Get there early; the restaurant was packed at 3:30 PM on a Tuesday (shortly after opening).
No English menu, but staff are very friendly. Thank me later for the recommendation! Enjoy!

Have been trying to get into this place for awhile. It's standing room only and open for a few hours in the afternoon/early evening. Everything we ordered was really good. The uni/raw beef was delicious. The spicy sweet shrimp was really nice, though quite spicy. The stewed beef was very tender and the crab salad had large pieces of crab. The meguro roll was tasty. The grilled anago was great and the squid was so fresh it was still moving. Check it out if you're in the area. You can't make a reservation so go early or be ready to wait a bit.

Japanese style standing bar with unique dishes such as Uni on barely cooked beef or sashimi of rare fishes. Very popular due to it's cost performance so be prepared to wait in que.

Was really looking forward to coming here but after my lunch I became really really sick with food poisoning. Threw up multiple times over the next 2 days. The first time this has happened after many years visiting Tokyo. Please be careful. The raw beef I had was still partially frozen.
It is also like what others mentioned, a bit pricey for what you get.

Standing izakaya close to Tsukiji that specializes in sashimi. Highball pours are measured out of a giant handle of Suntory, college style, and they track the number of drinks you've had by the lemon slices in your glass.
Menu is mostly illegible, even for Japanese readers. For obvious reasons, 50 stars.

No English menu, but this tachinomi(standing drinking) spot has some amazing food. They're know for their uni wrapped in raw wagyu, and their iwagaki (rock oysters) were enormous and delicious. It's also the first time I've had hamo and enjoyed it, probably because it was just torched with an ume sauce.
