Wow! Just wow! The food was exceptional! The dishes tasted amazingly with the perfect combination of flavours! And the speed of the food coming to our table? Incredible! We just discussed what we ordered, and here it is! So so fast and flavourful! It’s hard to get into this place during rush hour cause it’s quite small too, but it’s worth it! We came around 6.10pm just before the rush hour and were able to get in. When we were leaving around 6.40-6.50 there was already people waiting. It’s THAT good! We tried the king kamen (5 stars overall and like 10 stars for just the broth!) and chicken tonkatsu (again, 5 stars!) the server even suggested to give me a refill of the sauce for the chicken when she saw I was about to run out of sauce! That’s what I call great customer service! The appetizer pan fried dumplings were out of this world! Did you know they make them in house? We liked them more than in some other dumpling houses downtown even! 👏👏👏 Oh and the prices? As for the restaurant of this quality of food? Amazing! No wonder there is always a line up to get in! Will come back in a heartbeat! If we can get a seat that is 😅

We recently visited Kamen Ramen, drawn by its close proximity to our home and the glowing reviews we had heard—and it definitely lived up to the hype! Although we had to wait in a long queue to be seated, it was well worth it. We customized our ramen bowls with our choice of meat, vegetables, spice level, and noodles. The portion sizes were generous for the price, and the flavors were absolutely phenomenal. If you’re a spice enthusiast, I’d recommend going for their highest spice level, as the level 3 wasn’t as fiery as expected. The ramen was so filling that we couldn’t even finish half and happily packed the rest to take home. The broth was incredibly rich and flavorful—truly the highlight of the meal. The dine-in experience was equally impressive. The restaurant is spotless, and the open-concept kitchen adds a unique touch—you get to watch your bowl of goodness being freshly prepared. The staff were efficient, friendly, and happy to assist with anything we needed, which made the experience even more enjoyable. We’ll definitely be visiting often. Highly recommended.

Food was amazing, me and my friends loved every bit of the restaurant and our waiter "Hue" is a lovely guy, amazing attitude, super helpful, positive attitude, the best kinda guy u can ask for to be your waiter or have any questions, very knowledgeable. Food: -cheap -very delicious -eye catching -well made -flavourful broth that warms up the soul -well seasoned meats -ramen made with passion - spice is a slow heat -10/10 experience -a perfect meal when your sad or its a cold rainy day only issue we encountered was the 30 min wait time but it was worth it due to the small restaurant size and busy time frame we arrived at. also our soft drinks "coke" & "sprite" tasted flat for some strange reason. the egg was slightly overcooked, i was expecting a slightly runny yolk, but the egg was nice.

Google
I am really surprised how long the wait is (35mins for 2). Food is not bad but don’t feel 100% authentic. I don’t tastes ginger flavour in the karrage and it comes with lettuce on the side instead of cabbage. Boiled egg is overcooked. But meat is fine. Would have been better if they seared it. The spice level (volcano) is fine, but recommend that they up the level if you are calling it a challenge.

My husband and I went in for lunch today. Our 1.5month old started crying the minute we sat down. We've been out with him before and he just slept the whole time. Today though... Non. Stop. Screaming. We felt awful for the staff and other patrons having to hear it while trying to enjoy their meals, so my husband took him outside. The kiiiindest woman went to my husband and told him to give her the baby and he could go enjoy his meal. We ate for a bit, but I couldn't stay long listening to him cry. When I asked the staff for a take out container, they assured me that "she's a pro, don't worry. Eat!" lol❤️ We took our ramen home and it was so delicious. I hadn't had ramen in so long due to gestational diabetes and my husband being on a keto diet. These noodles absolutely hit the spot. All of you are wonderfully amazing. We thank you for your kindness, understanding and delicious food! We will definitely be back. Hopefully when the little guy is in a better mood though!

Google
Very fast service even when busy. I wasn't a fan of the lemon sauce for the karage, but this is my preference. The ginger in my black garlic was also a little much, and unfortunately the eggs were under seasoned and over done. Having said this, the 4 young people working, were crushing it!! They were working so hard, it was impressive watching them sip around and helping each other while dealing with endless amounts of online orders. This team rocks!

Google
Not bad not good. But i doubt they can make good authentic Ramen. They have korean-Japanese fusion vibe going on where people who actually don’t understand what Ramen actually is will be impressed but people who actually know the taste of an authentic Ramen may not like it as much. Unfortunately I am the latter one. And majority of Canadians haven’t tasted an authentic Ramen so i don’t blame them. Restaurant itself is busy and has 10-15 minutes of waiting time. Staff is good but they don’t communicate at all. They will just go the kitchen get your food and done. No small talk nothing, no coming back and checking. My bowl you can see is chipped and egg in Ramen is overdone. If you just wanna go for a date night hmmm i wouldn’t recommended as i said it’s busy and noisy. But if you just wanna go for the Ramen experience, not bad. I liked 1 thing here: Tekkamen ( must try) but Ramen not for me. Thanks

Yelp
4/5 Food: I got the Sapporo Miso Kamen, but replaced the ground pork for toasted pork. Personally, there were too many toppings and I was left with more bean sprouts/veg than noodles by the end of the meal. However, the broth was delicious, and the pork was so flavourful and tender. Took home the leftover broth because of how much I enjoyed it (+ the portion size is quite large). Not too salty, miso flavour not overpowering, blends nicely with the roasted pork - noodles aren't overcooked. Service: Took about 15 mins to wave down a waiter when we needed help with the ipad ordering menu, then another 15 to get our food, but we did come during dinner so it was busier. Staff are nice and considerate though! Ambiance: Bustling and open kitchen concept. A bit loud when busy. Perhaps not ideal for an intimate date night but it's perfect for getting a casual (delicious) meal.

Yelp
The service is alright and what you would expect at a ramen restaurant. They let you choose where ever you want to sit when you are there at a quiet time of day. The food was very quick to arrive. I got the shoyu ramen with added corn and the ramen and broth didn't stand out to me. It was quite average and the egg was a little overcooked for me. I generally enjoy my ramen eggs having a slightly runny yolk.

Jonathan W.

Yelp
4.5 stars. All the historic reviews carry over from when it was Kenzo, but I'm not sure if it's fully the same place. Anyway, I was hear with my whole family and we really enjoyed it. I can see why its the busiest between the 3 Ramen places in and around Square One. I enjoyed about every aspect that they do better than most: a much clearer broth and that they make their noodles in-house. The chasu was better and they gave more as well. About the only problem is how popular it is. It almost ruined my wife and I from the other places, but there's almost always a wait here. Makes sense though.

Yelp
For Mississauga area with less competition, Kamen is pretty good, but not worth lining up for in my opinion. We waited for 1 hour to get seated over the weekend because we wanted to see what the hype is about. Looking at the menu, it appears that they're most well known for their spicy ramen bowls. The ramen prices are mostly under $20 and the size of the bowls are pretty sizable. The taste of the broth is pretty average though and they didn't really put too much effort into plating like other ramen restaurants. I would say come to Kamen if you don't have to wait for a table, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Larry L.

Yelp
Kenzo is still a solid place for Ramen. Their ramen base is always good, and their freshly made noodles are always consistent and delicious. They do get busy especially weekend nights. We last ate here on a Saturday night and had to wait about 30 minutes. This time I ordered the Black Garlic Tonkotsu with medium spice. After trying this, I realized that ramen doesn't have to be spicy and interferes with the dept of flavour of the soup base. We also ordered the gyoza which is also always consistently good.

Patricia B.

Yelp
Yeah this is the spot for ramen. If you ever had any doubt that this place wouldn't satisfy your craving let me assure you now that this place has it all. I always get the seafood kamen ramen and the presentation is always amazing. The shrimps are huge and they don't really skimp out on the clams and scallops. Service is always incredibly fast as well and I never have an issue waiting on my food (no matter how hungry I am). The place is pretty cozy and can be a tight fit but to be honest it's worth it.

Anne M.

Yelp
Came here for the Ramen, left here making friends! They have an iPad at the front to sign up your name and wait list. It's a very popular and high traffic location so it helps so you can wait in your car or outside. Smaller groups tend to get seated MUCH quicker due to it being a smaller location. The staff here are always fast! Often, I find the water is already on the table before I have even sat down (talk about FAST SERVICE). Despite this, they in no way at all make you feel rushed. They have MANY vegetarian options available as well as allowing you to make substitutions to make non veg items veg! They were playing anime on the tvs! This time was Naruto (GREAT CHOICE). There's something about watching Naruto while having great ramen that hits differently. My fave ramen spot in all of Mississauga

Yelp
We've been to Kamen Ramen twice now; after the amazingly delicious ramen the first time, we knew we had to go back! The first time, we had ordered one of the Volcano ramen. It was spicy but savory, with a smoky flavor to the broth. On our second trip, we had the black garlic. It lacked the smokiness and the broth could have been spicier, but the variety of ingredients was amazing. The black mushroom was so good! The restaurant is a little on the small side, so expect a wait. The check-in system is easy though and once you're seated, it's a cozy atmosphere perfect for the dining experience. The staff are all friendly and check on you often. I would very much recommend stopping in and giving it a try if you're in the Mississauga area

Yelp
I believe Kamen Ramen has been around Mississauga for a bit of time, and the location is quite close to Square One, so it is ideal to go shop around after a good bowl of ramen. We visited on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and the parking lot was already quite full. We were greeted by lots of smiles from waiter and waitresses so it was a welcoming sight. Because it was our first time dining at Kamen Ramen, we took quite a bit of time to study the menu and see what offered to decide what we wanted. From the moment we sat down to when we actually ready to place our order (in the span of 15 mins), different waiter and waitress already came by 3 TIMES to ask whether we were ready to order. Eventually, we settled on Fiery Seafood ramen, Black Garlic Tonkotsu ramen, and chicken karaage, and here's what we thought of them: - Fiery Seafood ramen: very similar to Korean jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle), with decent amount of seafood in the noodle. The soup was rich in texture and has a great amount of kick at the "mild" spice level (you can customize the spice level from 0 to max). It came with "thin" noodles for those who wanted to know. - Black Garlic Tonkotsu ramen: rich and creamy soup with a milder black garlic oil. It was a little salty to my liking but nevertheless, the flavour was still strong. The soft boiled egg was slightly over-cooked but I still enjoyed it as it has a strong sweetness to its marinating process. - Chicken karaage: for the price of $14, it's a bit expensive compared to most ramen shop for a plate of karaage. However, they offered a bit more than just tender chicken pieces... they have chicken skins included!! The chicken, unfortunately, was not as juicy but still tender. The sauce it came with, was a lemony aioli rather than mayonnaise so it was a little refreshing to the palate.

Monica M.

Yelp
Tried the Miso Ramen and it was really good! Everything balanced well! Also had the fried gyoza which wasn't bad. The ramen was also reasonably priced as well. Ambiance was nice and staff were friendly. It did become a little crowded, so go when it opens!

Nunki W.

Yelp
I'm craving ramen though yes there are bunch back home, nothing that beat this place. It's a really small place. It probably only fit 12 tables. Always packed. We came in all different times and always had to wait. Though today probably the longest wait about 35 minutes. When you come in, you put your name on the tablet and you can have them text you when your table ready. Or you can wait in very small area with few seats. You can see your name up in the screen. You ordered thru the tablet that they bring you. This is new to us. We opt to ordered spicy volcano chashu with level 2 spicy. We also add extra noodles for $2.50. That was good for us to split. Food and green tea comes out to $22 ish Canadian. Better price than back home to compare the quality and quantity. It probably good thing that this is not close by because I'd be going all the time... we also decided to bring 1 to go, a roasted garlic spicy miso. If you love ramen gotta try this place!

Anila Y.

Yelp
Amazing!!!! I wish we had one in Waterloo. They have so many vegetarian options, including gyoza! Their broth is flavourful, and I feel like you get a good bang for your buck (which is rare these days). Their spicy-ness level is no joke either! Service was friendly and bathroom was clean!

Alfred D.

Yelp
I've constantly heard that this restaurant is the best ramen in Mississauga. I was already a believer because theres sometimes a 45-1hr wait in this place. Still, I had to see for myself. I got the shoyu ramen. Immediately I could tell how much more flavourful this broth was. Not too salty or overbearing. The beef was very tender as well. Though, I did think it was weird having only half an egg. Everywhere I've been gives a full egg. I didn't try the ramen my partner had because I have 0 spice tolerance so I can't comment on that. The service was quick and efficient. I really appreciated the spied considering that we were both starving!

Neha D.

Yelp
This is definitely one of the better vegetarian ramens I've had! I got the vegetarian kamen ramen which was flavourful although I regret not getting Level 2 spice! Level 1 was not enough The vegetable gyoza was also pretty good and a recent new add on the menu! Service was very quick as well! My friend got the veggie Tekkamen and i was amazed!! This was soooo yummy!

Amanda T.

Yelp
Came here without any reservations for dinner on a Saturday evening but got seated right away. The staff was really friendly. Since the restaurant wasn't busy, she said we could choose any table, and she cleaned it off nicely for us. We got their ramen and karaage dish. I really like the karaage, it was crispy and the chicken was tender. It also came with aioli sauce and lemon. Their ramen wasn't too bad either, I added chili oil and spice to give the broth more flavor. The dish was definitely a big portion, but I was sharing with someone so 1 order was good to feed the both of us. Since we ordered the ramen and appetizer, we qualified for the $1 matcha ice cream. This I definitely didn't like. When they served it, the matcha was not the vibrant green color you see in the flyer. It didn't taste like matcha at all and was really icy in texture. Good thing we only spent $1 on it, otherwise I would've been even more disappointed. Overall, not a bad ramen spot around the area.

Stephanie K.

Yelp
The ramen here was so yummy! It's one of the best spots here in this area! Restaurant is p busy expect to wait! But thankfully I didn't need to wait since I ordered through the phone. Ambiance is really nice and lots of seating in the restaurant!

Mary M.

Yelp
Arrived on a weekday for dinner, the parking lot is busy, but you will find parking eventually. Inside, there is a wall of fame, featuring pictures of all that passed the volcano ramen challenge. There are several a tables available for seating. Staff was welcoming we down our table quickly. The menu is extensive, so many endless options. What I like about this place is they have categories advising you what the broth is made off and the options available within that category. You are able to choose your spice level as well. Most of the group ordered Spicy shoyu kamen (chicken), with different spice levels. It was really good, will definitely open your sinuses. It will warm you up from within. We also tried the gyoza, it was crispy fried well, not to greasy. It was tasty, we weren't too fond of the lemon sauce it always paired with. Oyakodon (rice) dish was also ordered, served with salad and miso soup. Similar chicken like the gyoza, friend chicken cutlet with rice, served with scrambled egg. The dish was a tad bit dry, I had to use the sauce from the salad. It was flavoured well so was still able to finish it. Overall, if you are in the mood for some ramen, I highly recommend checking this place out.

Tina T.

Yelp
The food had good, flavorful, flavors. We had a large order for pick up and was impressed by the promptness and friendliness of the wait staff.

Stephanie S.

Yelp
Good on-the-spot reservation system and they certainly NEED it as it's a super popular ramen spot! Seems to be always busy whenever I drive by. Once you step into the vestibule of the entrance, there is an iPad where you enter your details to be notified of a free table. It seems to work well and is efficient! Visited recently and I've come to the conclusion that I prefer Kinton. Sure, Kamen has MORE toppings, but I don't particularly like stuff like pickled ginger or bok choy on my ramen, so the additional toppings don't really draw me in. I prefer my ramen on the plainer side with a side of seaweed and the protein. I don't think they have an option of thin/thick noodles either which Kinton has. The absolute dealbreaker of Kamen is the sheer saltiness of their broth. I find Kinton's much cleaner tasting and less salty. I actually want to finish their broth. Whereas with Kamen, it is a complete struggle to finish it 'cause it's just that salty!

Sherry Grace P.

Yelp
The ramen was really sumptuous and takoyaki balls are superb, and every bite melts in your mouth The service made by servers are above and beyond especially giving ua heads up on their new sushi place. The ramen taste that you always wanted to taste

Madeleine W.

Yelp
This is my all-time favourite restaurant I have been many many times and it never fails to disappoint! Although usually there's a wait when going to eat there, I would wait hours for a spot if I had too! i've been to many Ramen noodle places in the GTA and Toronto yet I still always come back to Kamen! The atmosphere is super comforting as well! If you're hesitant about visiting kamen, because of the wait time, don't be, it'll be worthwhile.

Philip L.

Yelp
A pretty typical ramen place. Good noodle texture. The popcorn chicken was crunchy. Everything tasted alright. Problem is that it has a lot of hype, which sets a high bar before visiting this eatery. Honestly, I cannot find any obvious point of difference compared to other ramen stores. Perhaps the competition is not that intense in Mississauga compared to GTA or Markham/ Richmond Hill and people find this a very good ramen store... Honestly, it wasn't special at all. Nothing really to comment about.

Kimberley S.

Yelp
Great ramen For gluten free do the broth by itself with toppings Ask which is gluten free though

Kelly K.

Yelp
First time ramen for me! Its a perfect little bowl of warmth, perfect for March in Mississauga. I tried the black garlic Tonkotsu and was very happy with that choice. Service was friendly, and the food came fast but took a long time for staff to come and take our order. We had to wave someone down.

Michael L.

Yelp
I was wondering why the noodles feel familiar, and found out this was just kenzo with a rebrand. If they presented themselves as a noodle shop, I wouldn't compare them to Japanese ramen places that you can find in Toronto. But since they are, and they're prices similar to Isshin or Santouka, the quality just isn't there. I suppose that's why they give you fairly big portions. They use egg noodles which isn't chewy at all. The egg is over cooked. Meats are pretty good, and they give a lot. I suppose if you're looking for a bowl of noodles, there aren't too many options in the area so this would have to do? I don't know. It does seem quite popular though.

Annette Y.

Yelp
Wow I can see why this place always has a lineup! Came to see a friend in Mississauga and this is one of her go-to places. You put your name down on an iPad, self serve style and then wait for a text message. We waited probably about 15 minutes on a Sunday for dinner. They have 4 main categories of ramen soup base (traditional salty soup, soy sauce base, miso base, and bone broth base). Prices are about 13 per bowl. The service and food came out super fast and the portion was perfect! You can order extra toppings, sides, and even sushi if you're in the mood for more. Overall a great place on a budget. Would recommend!

Claudia C.

Yelp
This place is always busy on the weekend so prepare to line up. They have a tablet at the front so you can be on the waitlist and walk around elsewhere while waiting for your turn. Their ramen was pretty good. Nothing too special. Noodles were chewy and they have a lot of different ramen flavours with different toppings to choose from. Keep in mind it's not open on Sundays.

Jessica V.

Yelp
Amazing ramen spot in Mississauga!!! I travel to Mississauga every couple months on business and found this place for the first time a year ago - been back every time I'm in the area because it's amazing! I always get the same thing - Kamen ramen, spicy level 2 (scale goes up to 3). Hidden gem wedged between an Afghan grocery store and a little cafe, this place is compact and has tight indoor seating. Usually pretty packed and can have a wait up around 20-30min on a weeknight, but so worth it. Will definitely keep going to when I'm in town, Service is quick, pretty loud inside due to compact space and open kitchen layout, but really no time for conversation when you're eating because it's that good. Wish I could bring it back home to the US but border control would never allow that

Winnie G.

Yelp
Before getting in, we had to add our name to the waitlist at the front. We only waited 15 minutes with a party of 4, which wasn't bad for a Saturday night. Our food came out super quick. I ordered a Kamen with 0 level spice. If you want level 1, the waiter told us it tastes like Shin Ramen level spice. Overall it was comforting and had a taste of sautéed mushrooms which was nice. Noodles were a good consistency. On the thinner side. Chicken tonkatsu had a good crunch. Takoyaki was good, but was more airy than usual. Overall I would come back again and maybe try the level 1 spicy.

Tish K.

Yelp
Disappointed with the ramen...felt not authentic and the broth wasn't as flavourful. I got the spicy one (which was spicy)...but I prefer the places downtown

Minji S.

Yelp
NOTE: I would rate this 3.5 stars Kenzo Ramen rebranded itself as Kamen, which I didn't know about until I went to the restaurant. This ramen restaurant is more catered toward those wanting to try spicy ramen, and I believe it's an attempt to be a bit different from the ramen franchises that has been popping throughout Mississauga. It seems to be working because this place was packed when I went. They had an electronic waitlist, where you put in your info, number of party, and phone number. They would text you when there was a seat available. They also had a screen at the waiting area so you could see how many minutes you had been waiting and how many people were there before you. According to the screen, we had 3 parties (6 people in total) in front of us, and we waited 30+ minutes. However, it wasn't exactly accurate because there were a lot of takeout orders happening during the wait. The restaurant itself is pretty small, so it was a tight fit with all the people eating at the restaurant. There was already a lineup that I could see through the window as we sat down, so there was the urgency just to eat and leave. Flagging down staff was also pretty hard. I think there was only two servers working and both were pretty busy with the takeout orders. Interactions with the servers are pretty limited because they are so busy- you just order and then pay. If you were expecting personal experience, this place is not for you. Surprisingly, it took a very short time to actually get our orders from the time we ordered. We ordered: Roasted Garlic Spicy Ramen: Topped with roasted pork, roasted garlic, bean sprouts, black mushroom, fish cake, bamboo shoots, scallions and chili threads - Not a bad ramen. Solid 4/5. Level 1 was not spicy, but had a hint of flavor, Kamen (Shio Broth): The signature "Fire-flavoured" ramen - Choice of ground pork or chicken, mushrooms(w/b), cabbage, bean sprouts, carrot, and scallions - Level 2 was definitely more spicy but still tolerable for me. I enjoyed the spice with the noodles, meat and vegetables, but I thought it was a bit too much when I was just drinking the broth. -Pork was chosen but it was a little bit of ground pork with a lot of vegetables. 3.5/5 Miso Ramen: Topped with roasted pork, fish cake, bamboo shoots, scallions, bok choy, bean sprouts and dried seaweed - The broth was so good but it had so little soup compared to all the other ramen. It shows that Kamen can make a decent ramen even without having to make it spicy. But once again, there was so little soup. 3.75/5. This is an observation that I had while eating the ramen, but I can't call these ramen authentic Japanese ramen. The ramen resembled Korean noodle dishes more than anything. As well, I know some people don't care or even consider it lucky, but I didn't really like the chipped bowls that the ramen was served in. I was more surprised that this was going on because it has bad connotations in Korean culture and I was pretty sure the owner was Korean (unless the owner changed). So overall, the service was subpar, the food was good and I probably would order takeout if I wanted ramen from here.

Erika K.

Yelp
Nice servers, and pretty good food (coming from a japanese). I would also recommend the gyudon as well.

Yelp
so this became one of my favourite ramen spots in town for the volcano tori. let me just begin by saying without the roasted tori i don't think the whole dish would be the same. the chicken upped the game. the delicate balance of wet and dry between the noodles and broth and the chicken was just delightful. i got it in mild spice and regretted it lol. i was just a scaredy cat and wanted to make sure i didn't get it too spicy. turns out it wasn't spicy enough. but at the same time my sensitive stomach probably would've been upset if i had a spicier broth. although it wasn't too spicy for my liking, it still had a lot of heat and might be upsetting for some sensitive stomachs. the broth was thick and rich. it wasn't creamy but it was thick and rich. lots of seasoning but wasn't overwhelming at all. the noodles were also thick and perfect. you can get it made with extra noodles and i did. i came out so full. i think i would've been okay with just regular size noodles. if you're a ramen fan though i recommend the extra noodles because the noodles taste so fresh! i also got a side karaage and it was fresh and crispy. i'd come back for the karaage lol

Yelp
Not going to lie, I googled "Ramen near me" and that is how I ended up ordering from Kamen. It seemed to have the best reviews in the Mississauga area so we decided to try it out. I ordered Spicy Shoyu Kamen Ramen, Chicken Karaage, and Tekkamen. The food was packed very well and was still steaming when it arrived. The broth was packed separately from the noodles and veggies. Let's start with the appetizer. I'm not a huge fan of friend chicken but this Karaage did not leave an oily after taste. It came with a lemony tangy sauce which surprisingly tasted very good with the Karaage. We then tried the Tekkamen - chicken noodles. These noodles tasted like Hakka noodles and were a little more spicy than expected. It is perfect for those that don't like authentic East Asian food. Again, very Hakka style. The Ramen - I would say I was craving the more traditional ramen but this was a more western spin on Ramen. We picked the spicy option and it was too spicy for me. It came with what tasted like egg noodles, had plenty of smoked chicken and veggies. It also had half a boiled egg. For the price you pay it is a decent amount of food. I'm taking one star off for the unexpected Hakka style taste. If you like spice, this is definitely one for you. If you're looking for something like Kinton or Sansotei, move on, this isn't the place for you.

Yelp
We went last Thursday with a group of 3 for dinner around 7pm. The wait for a table was a bit longer as they were quite busy and didn't have a lot of big tables. We ordered the volcano chashu ramen and the veggie ramen. I like that they warn you about the spice level beforehand. I ordered the level 1 spicy and felt it was manageable but my friend ordered the level 3, which kinda felt like eating 2x spicy fire chicken noodles. the portion size was pretty good for the volcano chashu but the veggie ramen could do with more noodles. overall, service was friendly and didn't have to wait long for food to come. Would recommend!

Yelp
Pretty good ramen. Not bad service either, and they are busy. I can see going back when in the area.

Yelp
This place has been renamed to Kamen Ramen - but it is still same owner! Nothing hits the spot like a spicy noodle soup! Be prepared to wait because this joint is bumping! They have limited seating, but the service is very efficient. The menu is extensive but very specific - pick your broth and then your toppings! They also have vegan options. I went for the Tonkatsu Shoyu ramen, Level 2 spicy and it was fantastic. The pork was not overly greasy and the egg was perfectly cooked. Beware of the spice though - it has some serious kick and not for the faint of heart! noodles are also perfectly cooked. Well worth the wait!

Yelp
Small restaurant, fills up quickly with many ramen lovers. Simple short menu. Many choices are spicy. Location in strip mall with lots of other restaurants

Yelp
Ordered through UberEats and it took a while to get the order, it was good but probably would have been a lot better eating in. The King Kamen Ramen was very tasteful with a light broth.

Yelp
No frills ramen chain, smart check-in system. Service: The waiters and waitresses were very nice, were able to provide a table for a large group during a busy lunch time but wait times (for both seating and food) was quite long. Food: The tonkotsu ramen was very good, rich pork broth that wasn't as salty as ramen at other chains/in Japan. The chashu pork was very good, egg was cooked well, not a fan of the ginger in the ramen though. Noodles were firm and chewy, very slurpable. Overall: Nice ramen joint for a cozy winter day/night, would visit again if craving ramen. Tip: Check in for a table using the tablet at the door, might want to try parking in a nearby plaza as it gets busy.

Yelp
Amazing ramen, decent prices. Service is relatively fast but try to go here during a weekday to avoid the big crowds that usually congregate here.

Yelp
Food was amazing, best ramen in Missisauga! Thanks to Hieu and Mikey for the exceptional service! Ambiance was also great

Yelp
I saw their website and menu so I thought the food would be decent; however when I ordered for takeout the bowls were small for the price on the Sapporo Miso Kamen, the Kamen and the Tekkamen. To our shock the price was $110 for literally 4 Kamen and two small sides. It was extremely salty. The portions for that price was so tiny and I was shocked because the place was busy. I think giving takeout with such small portions for that price should be reevaluated. I'd pay that if the portions are good, but honestly there are so many other places with huge portions, good food, and a whole lot cheaper!

Yelp
This place is conveniently located on the way to square one so if you're shopping in the area and want some ramen, this place is the place to visit. There is also cha time right next door so you can always visit that place for dessert. There aren't many options but that's what makes this place great. Their ramen broth has so much depth and their noodles are desliciously chewy. But be careful because the broth is super hot and I always burn my mouth always trying to eat too fast. There is usually a minimum 20 minute wait but they have a machine now where you can check in and they will text you when you're table is ready. Highly recommend visiting. It's great for groups and couples.

Yelp
This is our go to restaurant for ramen. Great broth and home made noodles. They have a smallish menu with photos for every dish so I won't bother with food pictures. The prices went up recently so a bowl is around $12 now. Usually the higher the price the bigger the bowl. The vegetarian broth is very nice and creamy with notes of mushroom flavour. It used to be that there was only 1 vegetarian option but now they can make a few ramen bowls vegetarian, which is a big plus! When I ate meat, I very much enjoyed the braised pork slices in the broth. Tasty and melt in your mouth. Part of a great bowl of ramen is #1 the broth, #2 the fresh chewy slurpy noodles, #3 the toppings and the mix of textures. The broth isn't too salty or rich yet full of umami flavour. It warms me to the bone and I feel satisfied with 1 dish. I enjoy the mix of toppings, especially the crunch of fresh vegetables. We also like the agedashi tofu. The rice (omesabi? Sorry spelling) is fried so the outside rice is yummy crispy, but we find oily and rich. The amount of fresh scallions as garnish is too much so I'd take some out. I miss the sheets of Nori they used to put in the bowl. Please bring that back. They are often packed at dinner so expect a wait. Even fairly busy at off hours like 3pm. We usually get a table around 5:30, but there's always a line on our way out. Service is prompt and polite. They are well staffed. The chair/stools do not accommodate winter jackets or bags which can be a bit awkward. Good value. Great spot. Highly recommended for a quick bowl of ramen!

Yelp
Excited to find a legit ramen spot close to our new house! After a decade living in downtown Toronto, we bought a house in the burbs in 'Sauga. We were spoiled for choice in the city so were curious to see if we'd be able to find solid food choices in the new neighbourhood. Kamen Ramen did not disappoint. We each ordered a ramen and also chose an order of goyza. Food was really delicious, and I loved the smoky flavour in the ramen - totally different to any ramen I've tried before. This is our new go to spot when the ramen craving hits!

Yelp
Kamen Ramen is located inside a strip mall at the southwest corner of Mavis and Burnhamthorpe. Barely a month ago Kamen once part of the Kenzo Ramen rebranded their establishment. The very first page of the menu says "Same owner, New name" as well as promotions for a contest about winning tickets to Osaka, ramen bowls, gift cards etc. For whatever reason this place formally a Kenzo is changing things up. Now that we have the entire change thing out of the way, on to the review. I had arrived earlier than my friends. I came straight from work and arrived here at 5:30pm on a Thursday. There were some seating and while I was earlier I was able to get a table for four even though my entire party was not present. I had ordered two apps to get things going. The amount of staff here is sufficient visually as there's at least 3 or 4 behind the counter and 3 or 4 on the floor but when this place eventually got packed (and it certainly did) it was slightly harder to get the attention of a server. Lots of staff but still lots of needs out there. I was tucked away in a quiet(er) corner while the place is pretty busy it gets a bit more noisier. Understandable as this place is lively and while it's not an izakaya it's still got a tone of bustling going on. Speaking of not being an izakaya there's no alcohol at this establishment. Where a beer or sake would have been nice there's things like a matcha smoothie or hot green tea instead. For a ramen bar and yes we have countless in the GTA this seems to be one of the preferred places it seems. The popularity of a place speaks to the kind of loyal clientele or curious newcomers when word of mouth gets around. When a noodle place has people lining up on weekdays it's has to be good and I have to say it certainly is. For those apps and my friends going west during rush hour sure they were a bit after 6 but I had apps in queue. Takoyaki and chicken karaage were ordered before their arrival. The karaage came first and there was a light batter, salty with a side sweet mustard type sauce. The portion size wasn't as impressive as what Katsuya serves but still, fried chicken rules. The Takoyaki came and when placed still piping hot, the flakes are waving hello while they dance about with the heat coming off freshly made octopus balls. Takoyaki isn't your everyday starter at just any chain place. These are special because they aren't common here. We also ordered grilled gyoza and I really liked the filling and the consistency of the dumpling, being that they were not too soft. For a bowl I ended up getting the King Ramen which on the menu is listed as "Super premium Kamen roasted pork, egg, mushroom, cabbage, carrot, scallion, fish cake, bamboo shoot, fresh and dried seaweed". So there's an option to upgrade the pork shoulder to pork belly for only a buck so I went ahead with that and I also ordered extra noodles on the side as well as the level "1" hot. There's 5 levels of spice to order: zero is basically none at all where 0.5 is considered mild. Level 1 is the normal level of spice while 2 is considered very hot and level 3 is their challenge level. If you can finish a number 3 then you'll get a picture of yourself on their wall. While I enjoy spice and hot I just went with level one. I wasn't really sure how hot their hot was so I needed a baseline. For me level 1 heat was good. I didn't need more than that although I probably could do 2. Level 3 I have no intention on ever trying really. As far as the bowl went it was essentially exactly what I had hoped to get. A nice mix of fresh quality ingredients in a bowl with a bit of spice. The pork belly was perfect while the egg I would have liked a bit more runny but heat is heat and eggs get cooked a bit more. The noodles with the spice and the salty broth just go together perfectly. I can say that the King Kamen upgraded to pork belly with extra noodles and level 1 spice is my jam. I was seriously satisfied after this and barely could finish it but I did finish it all. The payment is at the front counter which is a bit awkward. The place is crowded enough and we had our group going up to the screen to tell one of the servers how we were going to split the bill. The splitting is fine but there's hardly any room in this area but in the end we were able to all pay and make room for the next people waiting patiently for our table. The place is tight. Space is a premium and understandingly so since the demand is there for warm comfort food such as this. The crowdedness if you can get past it as well as the competition for service was part of our experience. The food is superb and there's other options such as rice dishes like katsudon if you don't want soup or a variety of broths if you want something heartier like pork bone. I haven't visited this place when it was still Kenzo and I only know this as Kamen but it is a very good experience and I'd definitely return for more.

Yelp
The first time I went here was a couple years ago, when they first opened. I got some basic bitch ramen and it wasn't memorable. This time, I actually had a craving for ramen and got the black tonkotsu. Unfortunately, it's nothing compared to Sansotei. There's barely any garlic flavor. In fact their broth is almost flavourless compared to Sansotei. So, it was a little disappointing. Like my friend said, it's not the best ramen but it fulfills the craving. The pork was amazing though. I have to give them that. It's thicker than most places and so juicy and tender. I really enjoyed this. Noodles were basic, nothing really to write home about. They were good. A lot of bean sprouts though. So maybe ask to skip on these if you're not into bean sprouts. I felt it could've done without the ginger. I like ginger but I didn't really appreciate the surprise taste in some of my bites. I don't feel it's necessary in ramen. Service is hella quick. Duh, it's just soup and the wait was pretty hefty but it went by fast. There were about 12 or so groups ahead of us but they got to our name in about 25 mins. The sign up sheet is convenient but not for people that don't know this system. How would someone know this without having to asking first? There aren't great ramen places in the peel region, so this might be the best you can get without having to go downtown or more towards Markham.

Yelp
I ended up trying Kamen when near Missausaga as a family member wanted some ramen, and this was a great place to try out! We ended up placing a takeout order and it was ready pretty quickly which was nice. I ended up getting the Tonkatsu Ramen with the Black Garlic & this gave the meal a nice flavor. The broth was yummy, the egg was delicious, and the chashu pork was perfectly flavorful with the perfect amount of fat. All the other toppings made this dish even more delicious! Overall, I enjoyed my takeout meal from here!
