25 Best Things to Do in Iceland

"Even though it’s located on the busy Laugavegur street, this cozy bar feels more sophisticated than your typical brewery. “[Kaldi] is popular with locals and offers a great selection of Icelandic microbrews,” says Gunnarsson." - Travel + Leisure Editors

"This craft beer joint set on the high street Laugavegur might be small in terms of size, but it's big in personality. Having grown from the local Kaldi brewery—famous for creating a tasty line of less chemically laden Czech-style beers, including a very popular unfiltered brew—in 2011, it serves a range of great international artisan beers as well as its own brews. On top of the friendly service, there’s light pub food on offer, comfy couches to relax on, and even a piano to play should you feel the urge (or drink enough). Generally popular with a young, arty crowd."

We really love the look and feel of this place. We went for after dinner drinks and had a great time. We felt really at home in the stone worked room. It was great. The bartenders here are great, knowledgeable, and helpful. We will be back.

I was there in June and couldn’t be more impressed. The beer was quite delicious and the bar pretty cool. I recommend going there. Me being from New Jersey in the states. Well worth the atmosphere and location. So much fun.

This was a phenomenal bar in the heart Reykjavik that serves a incredible variety of gins from around the world as well as beers from the Kaldi brewery in Iceland. We were fortunate enough to come a couple times during the last days of our stay and see how popular it is among the locals. We got to meet the owner (George) and one of his star waitresses (Christine) as they opened up on our first time there. They are great conversationalist when time permits and are very knowledgeable about the subtle differences among all of their gins as well as the accompanying tonic waters. Christine die a great job pairing the two based on our tastes and preferences. On our second visit the bar was packed and the waitresses were slammed yet Christine still recognized us and took the time to walk us through what our order would be that day. The cost of cocktails are in the same range as NYC cocktail prices (~$19.) There is plenty of nooks and crannies to sit alone or with a group with a piano in the center of the bar just waiting for an avid pianist to put on a show. It was great to see the local color and how well loved supported this bar is. We were unable to come back again later in the evening but we're told it can be quite lively. The bar and bathrooms were spotless as you would expect in a high quality establishment. If you're in town looking for a great cocktail with a dope atmosphere I can't recommend this Kaldi's bar enough. Be mindful they don't serve food so be sure to check some of the other delicious restaurants within walking distance.

Our taxi driver recommended this bar, so my friends and I came here after stopping by this cute Havana bar next door. The bartenders were attentive and friendly; he got our orders down and delivered them to our table. The ambiance is inviting, with cozy interiors.

Incredible hidden gem in Reykjavík! Kaldi is a Black-owned gin bar that blew me away with its warm vibe and creative cocktails. The owner was super welcoming and passionate he even had custom branded ice cubes in the drinks, which was such a fun detail! Definitely a must-visit if you’re in Iceland and looking for a chill, culturally rich spot with top-tier service and unforgettable drinks.

We were told by others in town that this was "Iceland's best gin bar" and I fully believe it. The drinks are great (try their house smoked negroni!), they have a large selection of interesting Icelandic gins and beers from small breweries, and the service is top notch. Both Georg and Freddie taught us a bunch and were great to chat with. We had so much fun we came back a second time the same day. We came in wanting to try these Icelandic wild ales that we'd read about and which they only just started carrying and so only had room temp bottles of and they put one on ice for us. Also if you're looking for suggestions on where to buy stylish clothes in Reykjavik, just ask Georg :)

Amazing IPA, friendly staff, rustic interiors and brilliant murals. There's nothing about this place that falls short of expectations. It's a place to definitely visit if you're in Iceland
