"This property opened in March 2011 under the direction of Arata Isozaki, the mind behind the design of Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium and the Los Angeles MOCA. The hotel’s shape represents the ancient Chinese ritual object called y u cong. The outer square symbolizes the earth, the inner circle heaven, and the cylindrical atrium a connecting passageway. Drawing on Piet Mondrian’s neoplasticism movement, the facade mixes bold primary colors and rectangular shapes, while interiors were styled by KCA International, whose portfolio also includes the Burj al Arab in Dubai. Room design veers toward contemporary Chinese."
"The combination of the world’s most exciting city and the world’s most over-the-top hospitality group was always going to raise eyebrows. So what have the originators of Dubai’s fantastical Burj Al Arab cooked up for Shanghai? Just the Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel, a riotously colorful neon-lit cube atop the Himalayas Center, itself an insanely futuristic mixed-use development that’s turned Pudong into a dead ringer for one of the sets from Blade Runner, and which makes Beijing’s Olympic stadium look positively neoclassical by comparison." - Tablet Hotels
The room itself is quite spacious and comfortable in terms of size. However, I noticed there was quite a lot of dust, which made the cleanliness feel a bit lacking. The shower room also had a strange smell, which was unpleasant. In addition, the service at the front desk could be improved, as the staff were not very polite during my interactions.Overall, while the room size is good, I feel the cleanliness and service need improvement.

Had an outstanding experience. Room was upgraded to a high floor. Very comfortable Kind sized bed, seperate seating area and a longer to gaze out the window. Excellent work desk was also in the room with great selection of sockets enabling efficient work. Well located for the conference center, but far from downtown. Lovely Century park is nearby for a nice walk.|Wifi was so-so but usually worked, Would have been nice to have a coffee machine in the room.

The hotel is convenient to Century Park and the nearby convention centre. I quite enjoyed my stay - the room was large and comfortable. The bed was huge and comfortableHousekeeping was friendly but some of the breakfast staff need retraining - I’ve never been grunted into a breakfast before. I didn’t much like the hot food of the breakfast but there was a good range of salad and fruit and the coffee was great.

Booked their family room for three friends traveling together because that was the only room allowing 3 pax together, and was shocked that the bathroom didn’t come with any conceal so please note on this when you book! Other than that, room is spacious, amenities were great and location was convenient. Will come back again for another room type if I’m coming with friends again.

Very convenient location to access the exposition and park. Gym area is very unique. Facility is a little bit old (Good price though). Vicky at the front desk was very kind, and so was her colleague (didn't get the name) who grabbed a taxi for me.

I recently stayed at the **Himalayas Hotel** for **4 nights**, and it was a fantastic experience. The location was incredibly convenient—just a **short walking distance to the Shanghai New International Expo Center**, making it perfect for business or event attendees. What truly made our stay exceptional was the **personalized service**, especially from **Vicky at the front desk**. She was incredibly attentive, responding promptly to every question we had via **WeChat** and going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Her professionalism and warmth made our trip smooth and memorable.

Excellent location. I was in shanghai attending an Exhibition at SNIEC. Hotel is a 10mins walk to the SNIEC exhibition entrance. There is a food street just across the road. Local Chinese food .. hotpots, bbq skewers. A couple of bars and spas. There is also a mall at the entrance of the SNIEC exhibition centre.Breakfast is international buffet. Quality is good but variety is limited. One complaint - its free sitting for breakfast, its gets a bit messy when it is busy. I walk away to get more food and when i got back to my table there was someone else sitting on an empty chair next to me at my table. Certainly not acceptable for a 5 star hotel.
