Really enjoyed my cocktails, great service by the staff. Wide selection of whiskies and unique cocktails. Small eats that looked very tasty with one or two main dishes. Fun cocktail that incorporates fire and a little magic.

Amazing place. Very friendly. Sometimes you can listen to some Bluegrass. The day we went, they had all mimosas you can drink for $10. Delicious food. Amazing servers and crew, always nice and well informed about the hundreds of whiskeys they have.

London Calling - if you're a cucumber fan definitely get this one! Very good. Camellia - this isn't actually matcha the powder, it's a tea they use as a mixer. I would definitely not recommend this drink. Traditional Julep - Julep knows how to make a dang good julep. Highly recommended. The Great Awakening - This was also wonderful. Definitely recommended. I'm a bourbon person, and this was a bourbon bar so I was overall pretty happy!

Julep really is our favorite bar in Kansas City. It's tucked down a side street in the Westport area. They have expanded their outdoor seating with large garage doors and their mixologists are creative and knowledgeable. We recently made a reservation to experience their pop-up "Something Wicked" event. The space is decorated over the top, and the list of specialty drinks is creative and interactive. This year they are based on the seven deadly sins. Julep has an incredible collection of whiskeys and liquor, a small bite menu, and lively staff. If you don't see what you want, they will help you find it. It's a great place to be adventurous and festive. Highly recommend!

I love this place! The staff are some of the nicest and genuine people you'll meet. They have a huge selection of bourbons and whiskeys. Sample what you'd like, they provide 1 and 2 ounce pours at very reasonable prices. If you're a Buffalo Trace fan, they have selections you will not find elsewhere. Be sure to ask about the Locker Club. If whiskey isn't your thing, that's ok. Julep offers number of beer, spirits, wine, and cocktails. If you're looking for small plates, they have a great selection from House Bar Nuts to Sweet Tea Smoked Quail.

Concur with the general Yelp population that thinks Julep has it going on for a local watering hole with a limited chow menu. We stopped in on a whim after hearing about it for a long time and vowed to return with friends. And with closing in on 300 reviews and 4 1/2 stars, unusual for me, I'm leaving it at that. Shall return, likely within the next couple of weeks. In a city the size of KCMO, for us to venture over from Lawrence to hit this spot up says enough of what we think of it.

I shall return...even if only for another Bougie Bug!* But Julep has SO much more to offer! Their "Bites" menu is full of interesting and delicious options, including curried deviled eggs, shrimp remoulade over perfectly fried green tomatoes, bruschetta, garlic and dill popcorn, and the most unexpected, Springfield Style Cashew Chicken...all at surprisingly reasonable prices. And each $1 less during Happy Hour! But for me, the star of the show is their selection of "In-Season Cocktails," especially the *Bougie Bug, a delectable mix of crème de menthe, cream de cacao, cream and...absinthe...a crazy-good combination! As my companion said... "OMG...imagine this as an ice cream flavor!" And above all, we were made to feel welcome the minute we stepped through the door into Julep's comfortable retro atmosphere, with a lighted floor-to-ceiling wall (complete with a sliding floor-to-ceiling ladder) of what appeared to be every brand of alcohol on the planet, and the service was terrific. Check out their cozy round teal-and-silver reservable nook, and outdoor patio that runs the length of the building, with planters full of the fresh herbs they use in their food and drinks. And they are planning an intriguing holiday event....

Love the ambience of this place! Try to visit when the weather is nice so you can enjoy the breeze from the open side garage doors. Also recommend going in the early evening so admire the decor, enjoy the romantic vibe and be in Westport during safer hours. I have had a few cocktails but I'm hooked on the Nellie Bly cocktail. It has so many layers to it fresh, slightly sweet but with a slight tartness at the end. The staff are helpful and friendly so don't be afraid to ask for their suggestions.

Se! I have been to Julep previously for their Christmas pop up, so it was nice to get to experience them in their natural state. I decided on the fall cocktail "Golden Hour" which had tequila, honey, pear liqueur, and lemon! The drink definitely had a generous amount of tequila in it, but I must say it was mixed really well! Our waitress was really nice, and we also had the deviled eggs which gave off a Dijon mustard flavor in my opinion. I love the cute environment and their tall liquor wall is gorgeous lol

We had a reservation at nearby eatery, had time to wait so ended up at Julep for warm up drinks. BLUF: this cocktail bar is a Great Find!! Extensive offerings of libations--see the picture below, grand selection of spirits of all sorts. Julep's range of bourbon's is impressive...coupled with generous pours. I enjoyed a wonderfully mixed Boulevardier (bourbon, sweet vermouth, Compari); bitter sweet, spicy and warming is the way I would describe this cocktail. Nice cocktail lounge doing a great business. We were there just for drinks so I cannot comment on food items except to say what I saw passing by looked very good...I'll look forward to that on my next visit.

My party wanted something light, yet delicious so we headed over to Julep for wine and charcuterie. The wine was delicious and the charcuterie was even moreso. The cheeses, meats, peppers, pickles, olives, etc. It was exactly what we were looking for. I'd definitely return for it.

Yes, Julep is back open, just in time for the summer! We had heard good things about Julep, and were thrilled to see they had just opened up for outdoor seating during the 4th of July weekend. Located in the bustling, hip Westport area of KC, Julep has standard cocktail offerings, along with some impressive whiskey options and a tasty snack menu. The drinks were made with care, though there was a slight issue in consistency (my first OF was markedly better than my second). That said, this is a unique stop in a neighborhood filled with beer bars and clubs, and welcome entry into the world of upscale cocktails.

I had heard about this place for a while, but I am so glad that I finally made the trek over (it's in Westport!). I know that I will be coming here again and again--their focus on bourbon/whisky of all kinds makes this my kind of spot! The place is small, but it isn't loud or overwhelming (at least it wasn't on a Thursday night). I always enjoy a place that does a mix of classics (that are always there) and seasonals (those that change throughout the year) because it helps showcase their attention to detail and the flavors they have to offer patrons. The selection of seasonal (Fall 2021) and classic cocktails was great, and our servers were super knowledgeable and attentive. Their seasonal and classic lists were really great. I got a chance to try two seasonals (Black Flower and A Walk in the Woods), and I tried one classic. The Black Flower was a great take on an old fashioned but with vanilla, fig, and lemon flavors--it even came with a maraschino cherry that was delightful. Definitely was easy to drink and enjoy--I suggest it for anyone who likes bourbon or wants to try a take on an old fashioned (but that is up for a less spirit forward version). The other seasonal drink was A Walk in the Woods--this one was a rye whiskey base, but was really delightful (I am not a HUGE rye whiskey person--it does not jam well with me usually). However, this drink also had maple syrup, sherry, and bitters with it, which balanced out the rye whiskey for me--and it even came with a toasted marshmallow on top (yep, just like if you were in the woods and roasting marshmallows). My classic drink was a suggestion of both of our servers: the Nellie Bly--it was a nice vodka drink that was citrusy but also a bit spicy (not too much but you definitely tasted and felt the jalapeno). It fed my need to start making new cocktails and trying more combinations with jalapenos. One of the people I was with ordered an ounce of a special whiskey--note they have SO MANY types of whiskey here. When they brought her drink, they also showed the bottle, which made for a nice presentation and a fun way to take visual note of something maybe you wanted to buy or revisit at a later time! Thanks to the bartenders and servers at the location--they were all great and very attentive. If you're looking for a nice place to go have a drink, definitely check out Julep--but do note if you come to Westport on the weekends, you may be searching a while for parking places.

Do you love a good whiskey drink? Or another hand crafted cocktail (vodka, gin, tequila, oh my)! Or are you just looking to sip on a hard to find bourbon, rye, or Scotch? They have it all at Julep. Their drink menu is seasonal, but they always have their "classics" available as well. My new favorite drink is "The Rite of Spring". Bourbon with rhubarb syrup, lemon, hibiscus and Darjeeling tea, some other ingredients that I can't pronounce. Does it sound funky? Sure... but it is DELICIOUS. Julep never disappoints. They also have great service. They have some pretty decent appetizers too (but the kitchen does close later at night). If you're looking for a good cocktail, this is the best place to get one in Westport.

I had been to this place many times, but it was the first time I had to pay cover charges. However the decorations and the drinks were amazing, so as the service.

Looking for a classic and chic cocktail bar? Look no further, folks. Stumbled upon Juelp on a night out in the Westport area. It was just what I was looking for: cozy interior, friendly bartenders, and great tasting cocktails. This would be a great spot for catching up with a few friends or a really cute date spot (honestly saw a few potential tinder dates happening around me). I got the Garden and Gun (gin based drink) and the Veronica (vodka based drink). Both were really delicious, however the Veronica was topped with too much egg white foam for my taste (but looked very pretty). Will be back soon for girls night out and to try some more drinks off the menu.

We popped in for #sippinsantakc and OMG! This place is soooo festive and adorable! I could stare at the decor for hours, I wish my house had this vibe. The staff was incredibly attentive and nice. The menu was perfect. So many fun festive drinks to choose from and served in their special holiday glassware. Which was also available to purchase. The wall of liquor was fascinating, I wish I could have sen someone climb the ladder to get something off of the top shell. You must go here for a holiday drink. We truly enjoyed ourselves.

Since I've been on this cocktail bar kick...I found another amazing spot! There's a happy hour, and they serve small plates (that I didn't get a chance to try) the environment was vibe, and the staff was super nice and explained everything to me.. because I'm still trying to because an advocate Bourbon connoisseur.

We stopped in for drinks before going out to dinner with friends. There is nothing outstanding about this place - probably 3 1/2 stars - the service is just ok and the drinks were good - nice presentation. The inside of Julep is very nice and we were able to easily get a table on a Friday about 7:30.

Howwwwwww have I not ever written a review for Julep? Julep is SEXY. Julep is the place I asked my friends to take me for my birthday. Julep is where I take people I wanna impress. It's a great spot for a hot date or the perfect place to begin a night out (while you're still sober enough to appreciate an expertly crafted cocktail). I love to visit Julep when I am in the mood to dress up, but I also feel welcome there when I'm super casual. Julep's menu changes enough to keep things interesting. Last winter, I was OBSESSED with their hot buttered rum. Currently, I can't get enough of their fragrant and delicious Old Fashion (especially when it's on special, only $6 when I was there on Sunday). Stop reading this and go get yourself some whiskey!

Stopped by Julep on a whim and we were pleasantly surprised to get a seat at the bar during the Christmas pop up. It was decorated very festively and did not disappoint. The drinks were a tad pricy IMO, but they were tasty and the experience was worth it. We had a couple of different drinks, and they were pretty sweet, so that's something to consider based on your taste (but keep in mind it was a set menu for Christmas time.) The bartender was entertaining and we'll definitely be back to try the drinks in a different season.

Very cool holiday themed Pop Up Bar. The place was packed but service was great and our drinks were always filled. Had a Festive Flip made with bourbon, nutmeg and was milky type drink. Very good as was the Nutcracker Ale. Had a great time.

My go to cocktail place in Kansas City! I love that they frequently change their drink menu. I always get to try a new drink when I go there! Smaller cocktail bar but it adds to the ambiance and makes the service feel more personal there.

We came by to try the Sippin' Santa Christmas pop-up at Julep last weekend with 4 friends and we had an awesome time! Julep really outdid themselves with the holiday decor throughout the bar (even in the bathrooms!) and we were also given floral lei necklaces when we arrived to add to the tiki bar vibe of the pop-up. I started with the Kris Kringle Colada, which was absolutely delicious! The perfect tropical drink without being overly sweet. I also had the Papa Noel, which was equally delicious and tasted very fresh as well. My husband had the Don & Victor and the Sugarplum Old Fashioned and thoroughly enjoyed both. We also got an order of little smokies and french fries since we hadn't eaten anything all day (and those drinks are STRONG!) and all of it came out fast, hot and yummy. Everyone in our group had a variety of different themed drinks and we all loved them. The Rudolph Shoots the Curl shots were surprisingly good too, they had an aftertaste similar to an Andes mint. This pop-up is a little pricey, but you get what you pay for and we had a holly jolly time! We'll keep coming back to Julep again and again, with or without holiday tiki decor!

Wow. Julep left me utterly speechless. This was the crown jewel of my recent visit to KC for work. I stopped here after hanging at Extra Virgin and before continuing on down into Westport. If you haven't made it to Julep yet, there aren't enough words I can scream at you to tell you to go immediately! First off, the place is absolutely GORGEOUS! Huuuuge wall of various liquors complete with the rolling ladder to reach the ones at the tippy top. Julep was swanky but unimposing, it was the perfect mix of cool. I sat smack dab in the middle of the bar and started chatting with the bartender. Explained to him it was my last night in town and I just wanted some great drinks to remember my visit. Everything on the menu sounded amazing but my new bartender friend asked me a very important question - "Would you like to stick with drinks that are on the menu or would you like me to go off the menu and create some things?" Uhhhh NOT EVEN A QUESTION, OFF THE MENU PLS AND TY! I adore cocktail bars where the bartenders are creative enough to come up with fun new cocktails so I was ridiculously excited to see what he would create for me! The first drink he made was this beautiful vodka based cocktail with grapefruit and hibiscus. It wasn't overly sweet and would make for an excellent summer cocktail. When he asked me more of my tastes for the second one, he then made me a spicy smokey drink that paired excellent with the cauliflower flatbread I got (the honey on the flatbread made that drink sing!) The flatbread was delicious and the perfect portion size I needed since I had snacks earlier and wasn't looking for a full meal. Moral of the story: Julep is amazing and you should go there ASAP! Thanks for making my final night in KC a memorable one!

Loved Sippin' Santa Holiday POP Up at Julep. Festive, fun and cozy. Service was so attentive. Only suggestion....holiday music instead of pop. It was Saturday night tho, so I get it! The pomegranate bubbly cocktail was AMAZING! Totally recommend. Also, jalapeño popcorn and bacon nuts were surprisingly tasty - popcorn was fresh and salty with just a hint of jalapeno. Boys were warm, well seasoned and full of bacon bites! Will definitely go back!

We came for the pop up Halloween bar they had in the Conspiracy Room called Something Wicked. I honestly had no idea what to expect, as we had not been to Julep before (!!) and I hadn't seen much about this pop-up online! The decor was incredible, and the bartenders/servers were dressed in character which really added to the experience. I know it's supposed to be spooky/creepy/seance themed, but it was a very intimate atmosphere. We sat along the long bench on the wall and were able to cozy up and enjoy a few cocktails. We just also had the added spooky music and decor. The drinks were incredible, very artful and themed. My absolute favorite was the blood oath.. aside from the name and how it's presented, the smoke flavor was great. I don't want to say too much in case anyone sneaks in before it ends -- it's well worth a trip if you want something different!

Woohoo only a couple of weeks late on this one!!! We came here on the recommendation of one of my coworkers; he knew I loved a really good Old Fashioned and mentioned that I'd love the ones they made here....and he wasn't wrong! Their Old Fashioned cocktails is one of the best I've ever had! Soo bloody good!! Not to mention their bottomless mimosas were fantastic! Now for the food...I had to order the Smoked Ham Dip...seriously how could I not??? So I totally enjoyed it, but my boyfriend...not so much. I guess he's not as adventurous as I am. But we knew that already :-P. We also ordered the Waffle for him and I ordered the Duck Egg toast. Both were so delicious and there wasn't anything left on our plates. Not to mention they surprised us with some yummy crepes!!! Overall a fantastic meal with great service. One thing I would note...most of the tables are high 4 tops. But overall a great environment with wonderful food and drink. Not to mention some pretty fantastic live music. We'll be definitely be back again...if for the Old Fashioneds alone!!!!

I have been here in the past for excellently crafted cocktails post-dinner... but BRUNCH here is an untapped secret in westport that must be shared!!!! Their brunch menu is smaller but carefully considered and changes with the seasonality of ingredients. Their menu is also pro-local - got to love that! Brunch at Julep is named "Bluegrass Brunch" because they have LIVE MUSIC! What a fun touch to add to your lazy sunday afternoon of indulgence... I say indulgence because they have bottomless mimosas here for only $10!! I am a big advocate for bottomless brunch because who doesn't love unlimited mimosas... and Julep does it right! Their ratios are on point and the service is amazing!!! Darrell took amazing care of our rowdy 6 person group with the perfect combo of humor and class. Oh and side note - the food is out of control fabulous! We ordered some apps to share - the pimento cheese (though maybe not a looker) is delicious and the ham dip was savory and very easy to share. I opted for the duck toast which was just the right goldilocks-for-my-stomach size. the bourbon sausage was crispy and spicy and just plain fire! Did I mention bottomless mimosas? Oh yeah and that they go until 3pm?! Overall just an amazing and quite affordable brunch that left us a little sunday afternoon buzzed and feeling GOOD if you know what I mean! Watch out Julep, this might become our regular brunch spot!!

Chill atmosphere, indoor / outdoor seating is nice. Friendly bartenders, can't beat $6 old-fashioned on a Sunday night. And they take care to do it right, even with the well cocktail - very smooth. Quite a bar selection - a good 10 x 25 feet of shelves. I'll be back, definitely a cool place to get a drink. Getting kinda rowdy at the ale house next door though. They're closing early on this particular Sunday - 10pm last call.

This was my first time at Julep I went for their annual whiskey tasting. THERE WERE SO MANY CHOICES. While I would have liked a paper or brochure with all the whiskeys a available I enjoyed myself. The staff was great and very knowledgeable of their products. I will definitely be visiting again.

The drinks are great, sure. But that doesn't matter if you're charcuterie is spoiled. Scot, with one T, went back to "speak to the chef" about the meat quality. He assured me the meat was supposed to taste sour and look grey, and unless I'm a chef I can't argue with his 25 year experienced chef. It doesn't take a chef to know when meat is bad, and even if it was in fact supposed to be "specialty meats" as Scot put it, I literally had to spit it out after trying to eat it. It was just salami, nothing very special about that. Instead of offering a solution, which could have been as simple as not charging me for the charcuterie or offering a discount for a future visit, Scot offered nothing more than condescension. With such tasty strong drinks, it would have been nice to have something to snack on.

I love the drinks at Julep! The decorations and service are wonderful. You can really tell that the staff know what they are doing and passionate about the drinks that they create. They have every type of drink that you can think of. There is something so fun about trying unique mixed drinks. So I recommend trying out Julep, probably on a weeknight if you're up for it!

I was looking forward to a cocktail bar. Meeting some friends at a new place. Arrived in a Saturday. It wasn't very busy. We each ordered a few drinks. One in our group order the Garden & Gin but received the London Calling. The cucumber floating in it was the give away. She is not a fan of cucumbers. I ordered a Old Fashioned. It was served without the customary ice sphere or cube. The waitress said they do not serve them with ice. I can only guess one of their bartenders over thought their spin on a rocks drink. It had an orange peel but not the requisite cherry which I didn't miss. There are much better cocktails in the area. The downer was someone came to pre-bus our table and grabbed a glass in which the guest had not finished. She said,"Oh, I am not quite done." He seemed offended and said,"Well I don't drink warm backwash. " She was taken aback. He then said well I am sorry you are poor. I would just order another one rather then drink that and he walked behind the bar. Thankfully we had already settled. No one from our group will be returning. Too many alternatives.

Wow, so good. Drinks amazing, food amazing, service amazing, atmosphere amazing, location amazing. Every drink my wife and I tried, six in all were great. Can't wait to go back. Charcuterie and beet salad were spot on!

My new favorite Kansas city HAPPY HOUR and quality is not skimped on. $5 Old Fashioned that are perfect. 25% off food that's absolutely stunning. Cornbread gnocchi with purple potato wins my blue ribbon in taste, presentation and creativity. Crostini trio was just plain tasty. Well done chef on nailing a perfect summer menu. I do not know who decked this place out but it is ON POINT. Trendy, modern with a great bridge to a rich deep south feel. Evenings have a subtle sensual atmosphere that I would absolutely vouch for as a date destination. Impressive bourbon and whiskey collection, with shelves of bottles to the ceiling and stretching the length of the bar. Bar men often scale the ladder to retrieve desired spirit. Sitting at the bar is some classy entertainment with fun witty banter. Staff are personable and trained expertly at their craft. Their Julep as are most of their concoctions are drinkable art. As far as my love of Westport goes it's just deepened, even if parking can be rough I've always found a spot.

Tough to find but well worth finding it! I did not get to eat because I did not come here to eat. I Came for a craft cocktail... Cutie pie in a vest and tie served it up!!! Yes he did! Both the Sazerac and the Manhattan.., simply lovely. Trained well on how to season the glass, gentle stir and even strip the lemon peel. Loved it. I would have ordered food but not nearly as extensive as the 100+ whiskey options. It's cool ... I enjoyed two well made, well deserved craft cocktails! See you next trip back to MO!

QUÉ BONITA! After my graduation party, we came to this bar to grab some drinks. It is right outside of the Westport mess! Inside, the ambiance is intimate, as the lights as dim and the candles are lit. We came in a group, and the waiter/bartender accommodated us quickly! He was so friendly and gave some suggestions as to what is popular. We ended up with the London Calling (cucumber infused vodka) and the Nellie Bly (jalapeño infused vodka). The Nellie Bly came with a kick! It tasted sweet at first, then you get a little spice tinge in there. On the other hand, the London Calling was so refreshing! It didn't have a strong alcohol taste, and it felt as if I was having a spa through this drink. The bathrooms were clean, the service was absolutely fantastic, and the drinks were wonderful! Definitely a top choice for celebrating with close friends and family!

I've been to Julep on two separate occasions and been very pleased both times. It is a beautiful space that is relaxed and easy-going. The first was when I came to drink on a Sunday night, when they were running discounted prices on their classic Old Fashioned. It was excellently made and the scope of whiskey they have available is hardly rivaled anywhere else I've been in the KC area. The waitress was extremely nice and helpful and when she found out it was my birthday she brought my boyfriend and I shots of a cinnamon whiskey. The other time I came here was for brunch with friends, and it was an amazing experience! Good prices on mimosa specials and I went with a classic dish that tasted amazing. Will be coming back to try the rest of the brunch menu!

I had the weirdest and most unreasonable time here. When we arrived, we realized that my friend did not have a face mask with them. Total accident. However, despite the sign on the door, when I went in we realized that all of the patrons both of the tables and seated at the bar didn't have a mask. I walked in with my mask, and I asked the bartender if it was OK that my friend walked in without a mask after seeing that everyone inside of the restaurant & seated at the bar also didn't have a mask. He looked at me and said "are you serious?!" I said I was serious, as everyone inside was not wearing a mask except for the bartenders and employees of julep. He said something else that I cannot remember but was still unsavory, he suggested we ask a business across the way so we left and went to the CBD shop across the street to pay $5 for a mask. We walked back, my friend wore the mask in for about --three or four seconds-- before we sat down at the table with a bartender handing us menus and we took our masks off. $5 paying for a mask (the bartender said check there) just to walk in with a mask that you takeoff immediately afterwards, seems a little bit ridiculous. We did not even go up to the bar to order, we stayed at the table the entire time. We also noticed later that this guy that had given me a hard time as well as other bartenders were either wearing their masks under their noses or incorrectly around their lol beards. Lol. We ordered a couple of the special seasonal drinks given that it was near Halloween, as well as some of the classic drinks. The bartender also told us that one of the specialty drinks for Halloween we probably shouldn't order because it takes a long time. Weird. But okay. The drinks we ended up choosing were pretty good I have no problem with that. Later on, the bartender that was serving us (who by the way was great! Loved her. 2 space buns) let us know at 12:18 that it was last call. This was a weird time to choose last call given that it not only was not around an even time, but the bar said that it closed at 1:30 AM on the door. It's weird that last call was over an hour before closing time. We even watched the bartenders refused service for people that walked in after 12:18. I asked when the bar closed, if it was either 1 AM or 1:30 AM (on the door it says 1:30), and the bartender told me "well we kind of close whenever we feel like it which tonight will be soon". I couldn't tell if we were being rushed or not because it was maybe like 1:02 AM. After spending a good amount of time and money to come into this place and try to have a good time, it felt really unprofessional, rushed, and just like the bartenders weren't wanting to be there except for the woman who served us. Drinks were okay. The one pictured tasted like floor cleaner. Unfortunately, it didn't feel like any of the bartenders who were there (and there were maybe 6 people behind bar) cared about the customer experience, or making money. As someone born and raised in Kansas City, this was disappointing as I know the area has been hit hard by covid. Likely won't be back there. Pic as proof we were there. Had a better and more special time down the way at buzzard beach.

Was Julep a covid casualty? Another deceased entity to lay on the pyre? We have been Julep regulars since it first opened. Our last trip to Julep (prior to the visit that is the topic of this review) was at the outset of covid, just before the lock downs. The best old fashioneds ever, classy decor, those high bar tables. We adored Julep. Here we are post post lockdowns. Yesterday we decided to revisit Julep since it "reopened." Upon entering the once dashing establishment, we immediately noticed that the former high bar tables had all been replaced with short squatty carbon copied drab tables, best described as the furniture love children of an abandoned trailer in the backwoods and an old diner. Some sort of gauche blue velvet covers the chairs, but at least it did match the graceless white shower tile that is now plastered all over the bar front. Some disaster of a mixed music CD was playing far too loudly for any venue without a flock of bachelorette party attendees shrieking on a dance floor. Certainly not the soundtrack of a whiskey bar. All of this- and then the drinks. The once revered establishment, where everything off the menu was the result of skilled mixology and technique, yesterday produced two of the worst drinks we've ever had in our lives. Ever. That's a testament. The bar tender sure did shake those drinks with a zeal that would indicate maybe something worth drinking would result, but no. Yesterday we commiserated over expensive, awful drinks while sitting in the carcass of what was once the finest whisky bar in all of Kansas City. It is also worth noting that while the rest of Westport was lined with packed establishments, Julep was remarkably empty. Maybe others have traversed this dismal path of bad furniture, disco music and bad drinks parading as a "whisky bar" and just failed to leave a review. Heed the warning. "Julep" is no more and an imposter has assumed its identity.

Great whisky bar. Classy joint with everything you could want. So many choices they need an Library ladder to get to the top shelf and you will see the tenders spider their way up their way up the creeky old thing to get what you want. Drinks are great. Best cocktail bar in KC.

Amazing happy hour, amazing drinks, amazing atmosphere. Can't beat $6 classic cocktails during happy hour. Even better, they are well-made cocktails. The decor is adorable and the wait staff is friendly and accommodating. My fiancé mentioned he loves cherries and they added 3 to his next drink.

I'm not a whiskey person, but I still always find something to enjoy at Julep. They had the best holiday pop up drinks in Kansas City BY FAR. The best bar option if you're looking for a spot in Westport that's not sticky and full of college kid energy.

This place makes me small because what's not to like about a good cocktail? We made it here for "one more" prior to making our way to other spots. It was busy and our party was large. After the ID check we were greeted by a waitress that informed us a table would be available soon to fit our group. She provided us with menus and started on orders before we even sat down. (That's good customer service!) Everyone enjoyed their beverage. The ice is a bit small and it still might be a bit much in some of the beverages. You won't be disappointed- they do all the classics and their own spins! Plus- it's convenient and easy to park to get too.

I just love this place. The atmosphere is pretty cool. The drinks might be a little on the expensive side but they are dang good. The bartenders are always very friendly and aim to please. If they don't have a drink on the menu you like, they are happy to make something that you do. Very knowledgeable about the spirits they serve and have a great selection. They also have a small menu which is nice since this is mostly a cocktail club, but it's great to have the option.

Stopped in for a night cap, was pleased with the drink menu.. Nice variety of specialty cocktails. For the bourbon aficionados...this is your place! But alas this is what they are known for. A vast selection arranged by country. Prices avg to high. Great vibe and upscale atmosphere. Professional and prompt service. From moment we walked in, we felt welcomed
