Just bought my first cold-pressed juice from here. I don't know much about the whole idea and the benefits of drinking this v. regular juice, but I do hear a lot about juice cleanses.
The location is interesting. Not many cars driving by because it's near a dead end. Parking seems to be a challenge, but there is a parking lot nearby. The store itself is pretty small, I only remember seeing a refrigerated display case and another one towards the back where the juices are.
I purchased a Strawberry Pearl, which contains cashews, strawberries, pearl powder(?), white clover honey, Himalayan salt, and alkaline water. It also mentioned bone building and skin beautifying. My bottle was $12, which seemed excessive at first, but I see now that it's pretty normal for pressed juice. It also came in a nice glass bottle. They charged a $2 deposit to return the bottle afterwards, which I think is nice for the environment.
The juice was definitely different from what I'm used to. Not as sweet, but still very refreshing. The consistency was also pretty thick; not exactly all liquid, but not a smoothie either. The closest drink I probably had to this is probably Naked Juice.
I also bought a Strawberry flavored juice from Pressed Juicery to see if there was a difference. I'm new to all of this, but I honestly couldn't really tell at all. I guess the Juice Ranch was thicker, but they were pretty similar, at half the price. However, that one came in a plastic bottle, so it didn't feel as nice.
The workers I interacted with were very kind. The only complaint I have was probably the tipping option on the register. I didn't see any option for no tip, only buttons for 10%, 15%, 20%, and custom amount. It appeared as if they were forcing the customer to tip, which doesn't seem right. Nothing wrong with asking for tips, especially when you have great service, but it seemed like I wasn't given a choice at all. And then they had a tipping jar on the counter as well.
Regardless, I do appreciate the great lengths they go to provide a quality product. Locally made, 100% organic, all very great. Waking up 3:30 AM every morning to do all this? Crazy.
The price (not just Juice Ranch, but pressed juice in general) still irks me. It's amazing how many people purchase this on a regular basis. Drinking this every week isn't exactly college student friendly. Under different financial circumstances, I'd probably go here more often. It'll probably be a long time before I try to go on one of their juice cleanses, but I'll keep it in mind.
