Jasper Curry Place All You Can Eat Indian Buffet

A great little place for Indian food in the beautiful town of Jasper. Their buffet turned out much better than I expected. The buffet choices were great. On the day I tried their buffet, they had 4 veg curries/lentils, 2 chicken options, 2 rice varieties, 1 bread option, 1 appetizer, 1 dessert and a few condiments. No conplaints on the main course choices, appetizer choice could have been more. Food tasted great! Their chai was great and refreshing too. We went there around 7pm on a Saturday and they were full. For a restaurant of their size, they seemed to be quite popular in the area. The manager helped us with a table as soon as ne was available and she was pretty nice to check in on us for some conversation later while we were there. All in all, a great choice with a good buffet!!

Extremely disappointed with food quality, taste and options. The Indian buffet had pasta as one of their options. It’s like going to Italian buffet and being served butter chicken and naan. Paneer and butter chicken tasted terrible. There is not much food options either for the price you pay. I would not recommend this place.

This is a solid restaurant that features legitimate Indian staples like paneer, shak, naan, and curries. You'll find it mostly full of Indian families which is also a good sign. You pay after eating, so staff will tell you to queue, grab food, find a table, and pay afterwards. The chicken curry still has bones insides but it delicious. The paneer is wonderful. The naan is as good as any I've had. However, as a cultural practice, many/most Indians eat with their hands. There's nothing wrong with that, but it does mean that all the serving spoons you use will have been held by hands that have just been used to eat. Make sure you wash your hands after serving if you want to stay clean.

This place was amazing!!! There's lots of fake reviews bringing this restaurant down, which is sad. The food was EXCELLENT and extremely fresh and authentic. Everything is labelled gluten free and vegan. And their masala chai is cooked on the stovetop and hit the spot! A true gem in Jasper

Hopefully things are getting better after the fire in Jasper.... We visited the place in June for lunch in a group of 6. After traveling for a week, we were missing some home cooked meals and found this place. The food is simple, less spicy and we enjoyed having lunch. NOT Recommended if you are looking for spicy and typical restaurant style experience.

After my husband and I got to Jasper, we're looking for a good food and we figured we would eat Indian food. We came across this one and they had a buffet however, I don't think it's worth it. I would go somewhere else for better food. Their chicken butter was little pieces that didn't some thing like chicken. I had other options there but nothing was that good I wouldn't return nor recommend add to others. Their chai was OK.

One challenge during vacations, at least for me, is having leftovers after a meal. We have to adjust what we order sometimes to try to ensure that we won't have half of the dish to take 'home' (i.e., to the hotel, which may or may not have a refrigerator). One solution, which isn't usually available, is to go to a buffet place, where you just eat what you want and leftovers aren't an issue. There were 3 Indian restaurants in Jasper that we noticed. This one was the only buffet place. They appeared to have indoor seating in the back (maybe a lot?) but I didn't venture back as we opted to sit on the small patio out front. There were 7 - 8 tables there, adjacent to the sidewalk (but with a wall / fence in between). The buffet was set up at the front of the interior. There were probably 9 or 10 dishes from which to choose, not including rice and naan. I do not know whether they rotate choices day to day or week to week. The selection seemed a bit different than what I was used to (no saag-based dishes, for example) and the ingredients also seemed to vary a bit. However, given the geographic distance involved, that isn't surprising. I found 2 - 3 dishes that I wanted to try, and all of those were quite good. The spice levels were good too - not bland, but not overdone. Parking was on-street or in the large lot across the street - both of which require payment. Use your phone to view the QR code and follow the directions from there. I'd very likely return here if I were visiting Jasper again.

Such a gem in the town of jasper. Visited a month ago and we ate our hearts full. The buffet was excellent, so many vegetarian curries and so fresh. Best naan ever. Our stomachs were full but the heart wanted more. The ambiance is ok but it was compensated by the super quality of the food. The service was excellent.. they personally came and asked if we needed anything! Hope they recover from the wildfires .. prayers for all of jasper!

Don't waste time at any other Indian restaurant in jasper. While it's a buffet, the food is super fresh and the service is immaculate. We had been to other Indian restaurants, who didn't match with service or the food quality even though they were a la carte.

Got excited to see a buffet place in Jasper and went there for lunch on a weekday. The prices were reasonable ($15) but the food was terrible. The only thing that was decent is pakodas. Raita was very diluted and the tadka in dal was overly done due to which the cumin seeds turned black. The chhole, paneer, aloo matar and kheer lacked taste and felt like were cooked in a rush. I would not recommend this place.

Popped in to take a look, and the lunch buffet looked quite good and for a fair price for Jasper. We thought about returning a few hours later for the dinner buffet which has a few more items including goat curry, however since we had been on the road since the morning, we thought we'd have an early afternoon supper instead. My wife and I were quite satisfied with the buffet, and though they had run out of the eggplant offering, they replaced it with a paneer dish which I suspect is offered for supper which was very good. Everything was reasonably spiced but not too spicy which is probably reasonable for those not used to the heat. Though we like it spicier, there are some condiments that can be added for those wishing for a bit more heat. The naan bread was lighter than what we've normally had, but was very good, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. We were both impressed with the quality and price for Jasper, and will likely return on our next visit.

Hands down, the worst Indian restaurant I have been to after the one I visited in Switzerland. As an Indian who eats this stuff regularly, let me explain: We went during the dinner buffet time. So keep this in mind. The pakoras, were dry and NO CHUTNEY was provided at any location. Excuse me? This is unacceptable at even your local dhaba (roadside Indian food truck) in Mumbai, every Indian knows this. Furthermore, a buffet at an Indian restaurant should always have palak paneer at it. It's an unspoken yet accepted rule. However, this was completely absent from the selection. On top of that, the food was pretty salty throughout the item selection. This place is extremely expensive for the quality of the food (or lack thereof). The food is extremely oily, the taste is unbalanced- spices are in excess. The dal is very watered down. On top of this I experienced extremely mediocre service from this place. If you're looking for Indian food in Jasper, you shouldn't come here. To my Indian people- I understand that you might be craving Indian food being far away from home. But I promise you that you might not get the same quality here that you're used to. Sad!

First time here in town and craving for some warm food. Found an Indian restaurant in town. Everything was delicious!!! We went for the lunch buffet and the food was made fresh, frequently stocked, AND the waitress was very friendly as well. Prices for lunch and dinner are very well priced. The Naan was freshly made with a lot of love. Definitely will keep this restaurant as one of my favorites and I am planning on coming back again the next time we are in Jasper.

I had the pasta salad, onion pakora w/ tamarind chutney, butter chicken w/ fresh naan and seviyan for dessert. There was a lot more variety and the rest of my family had those other dishes and loved them as well! The decor is beautiful, however, the place is small and it can get a little claustrophobic when packed. It's buffet only but you can get take out buffet. Lunch $15 Dinner $20

Wow. What a place. The food was incredible, but maybe even more astonishing were the people who work there. My partner and I smelled the place before we saw it. It smelled like delicious Indian food. Esavita made us feel like we were home. Her hospitality, welcoming smile, and ability to accommodate us made our day and made our time in Jasper that much better. We are eternally grateful for you, Esavita. Because of you, we leave Jasper with our hearts full, and our stomachs. Thank you. If you are in Jasper, do not bother with the pizza places, the overpriced other restaurants, or the sandwiches from the bakeries. Go to Curry Indian Restaurant, tell Esavita how wonderful she is, then enjoy some excellent Indian food.

This place definitely improved from the time it opened a two years ago. The food is consistently amazing. The best part is, the service too is amazing. I always look forward to coming here... they always make my favourite indian dishes. I just wish they had samosas in the menu haha.

Not bad for an all you can eat curry place. I do wish that they tell you the spice level for each dish or label what's inside of each dish instead of getting surprised when you taste each dish. My two favorites were the butter chicken and paneer. The fish was good but wayyyy too spicy. Most of their dishes does have a kick so it won't be good for younger children. This is a great spot after a long day of hikes and traveling !

Buffet style food only. The food was very watered down. The chutney especially is all water that go with pakoras. Only plus is that they have pakoras-hence the 2 stars. The server was really rude and kept rushing us to eat faster and leave so they could make more money! It's one thing to ask if we need anything and another to keep bothering us and asking "are we done yet" simply rude. Would not return.

Great price for a buffet. The food was really good - great naan, goat curry, and mutter paneer. Even their rice pudding (which I usually don't love) was delicious. Perfect for a carbo load before a 3 day backpacking trip!

Didnt expect an Indian restaurant in a remote place like Jasper! Had my birthday dinner here. Buffet options are minimal especially if you are a vegetarian. Butter chicken was the best in the menu. Channa masala, paneer makhni and other chicken curry were just okay! Naan was soft and nice. They didnt have any variety of rice items. They only had plain rice. Even jeera rice vouldve been a better option. By the time we got to dessert, they were over. And these folks didnt refill them at all! We didnt wait for the rice kheer.

Okay food. If you are craving for Indian food good to try. Compare to other remote location I been to i am glad there is Indian place.

After traveling through Calgary, Banff and Lake Louise it was nice to find a place that was reasonable to eat not to mention it's an all you can eat buffet. There was plenty to pick from such as soups, chicken, fish, vegetarian, fresh naan and the dishes were constantly being replenished. The service was excellent, very friendly and attentive. The water glass was never below half. $20 for all you can eat for dinner and the flavor was really good.

If you have ever had good Indian food, you will hate it here. Greasy and everything tastes the same. Only thing edible is the naan.

If you like Indian food, this will probably disappoint you. Buffets are mostly watered down sauce (unless they're rice or potatoes), more like soup than curry. If you're just looking for something relatively cheap to fill you up, I supposed this would be okay.

We went there with two other family. I have lot of reasons to give them just two stars. Firstly their service : they made us seat 8 people on a table of 6 seat, just so they can let more customers in. When we told them about our discomfort, she said that's best they could do! Secondly the food: just because there are not many Indian restaurants in Jasper city, customer like their food but I have tried Indian food in smaller cities like Banff and Whistler. They come nowhere near them. Most of their curries taste sweeter and same. Not up-to the reviews I saw on yelp! Third: It may not be regular thing but their kitchen and restroom is not hygienic compared to other Indian restaurant I have tried in other cities. Overall they are not serious to improve their standard since there are not many Indian food restaurants in Jasper DT!

Acceptable Indian if that's what you're craving, but a bit pricey and a fairly small selection of dishes. The restaurant itself is clean and nicely decorated and the service was friendly. Kids under 7 eat free which is certainly a plus.

An Indian restaurant in remote inland Jasper? Makes as much sense as seafood, I suppose. This place has only been open one week but it is obvious that owner/chef, Gopal Shelke, knows what he's doing. The food, served as a buffet, is excellent, and there is the usual Indian variety. The interior decor is attractive but we ate outside on a balmy May evening. Our server was a very friendly young man from Mumbai, and he called the chef over so we could meet him. Recommended.

I had been their 2 weeks back.. the food is really good..buffet only.. It's little costly but worth because it's the only Indian and good restaurant in such a remote place.. Worth spending money for such a good food..

We found the food quite tasty, even my girls love them. Good to have an Indian food restaurant at this remote place, nice touch on decoration too. The only meat is chicken, and the desert is carrot cake, not bad, but it is American. Should have those tasty Indian desserts.

The lunch buffet has a wide variety of dishes but not much of a quality ...The butter chicken was not upto the standard ...less cream and more of tomato sauce ... The good thing was it's a buffet and you can really fill your appetite when you're hungry!

We stopped by after a long drive from lake Louise and traveling last few days, wanting something warm, authentic and variety (other than pastas pizza which are common in this area), and we're very pleased. Dinner buffet was perfect. Many vegetarian dishes , curries/daals, paneer sabji, sukhi sabji! Well made. Kids ate really well too surprisingly! Service was superb. Quiet and attentive,very customer friendly! Ambience nice family friendly outside. Highly recommend.

The food is tasty but had only a few varieties / vegetarian options during lunch buffet ! Price is reasonable. Friendly staff and prompt service for alacarte items. Really glad to have found this place in Jasper after days of burgers, sandwiches and bread !

Ok let me be honest to start with - my review is a bit biased! After a full day of road tripping and eating junk food for breakfast and lunch, just the option of having something familiar for our taste buds made us excited. The place didn't disappoint - only buffet as an option, they had a good spread - the butter chicken was good and so was the goat curry. The matar paneer was a let down. Service was prompt even with very thin staffing..The fact that an Indian restaurant exists in this small remote town of Jasper is just amazing..go give this a try in case you have craving for some decent Indian food!

For a restaurant so in such a remote location, the food was good and the service was good as well. Naans we're super fresh and butter chicken was superb!

Friend recommended this place as only Indian place in Jasper national park area and we wanted to eat Indian , so we visited this place during lunch hours to pack Togo, but they don't do "togo" so we had to pick other place. Still being loyal , we returned next day and finally decided to try buffet Nan: too crispy Curries for vegetarian : mix veg was little watery and other vegetable was dry potato !! I don't know who thought serving dry "aloo ki subji" with nan was a good idea , so basically it meant only 1 veggie curry was eatable with nan Dal : this was really good Rice : plain boiled rice , little overcooked to be eaten with yellow dal, jeera rice in buffet would have her better choice Mango lassi : additional order not part of buffet, but it had really good cardamom flavor No sweets for buffet ? This was my first experience to have no sweets at all in buffet - huge minus point Price : pricey was options they provided and no sweet included in list Also they have masala chai on menu but don't have togo cups for chai ! It felt as if half the things we wanted were not available.

The buffet is fantastic! My favorites were fresh nan, goat curry, mutter paneer. We came here after a backpacking trip and it was a total treat.

Very pleased. The only place that was open on Christmas so was initially prepared for the worse. That said, the host was very friendly and hospitable and they made every effort to accommodate any dietary restrictions. Absolutely recommend if you're ever in Jasper craving Indian food.

This food is so nourishing, love-filled, and delicious! I lived in India for six months, and all the dishes I tried at Jasper Curry Place reminded me of feeling right back at home there. Usually my partner and I eat vegan, but we tried a little bit of the fish during the lunch buffet and were amazed! All the other dishes were incredibly delicious as well, with fresh-baked naan and dessert to accompany it all. The Indian family who runs the restaurant are extremely kind and compassionate, and you can definitely taste the care in their food. Highly recommended!!!

Found this place just as we were in the mood for Indian. First, the food was excellent. The garlic naan, samosas, and we got the lamb dish and the fish dish. Both were great! I got the highest spice level and it was not that spicey. The fish was nice too but my wife thought it lacked a little flavor. The service was sketchy but they were understaffed. The servers were very nice though.

Went with my wife and 2 daughters (7 & 11) for lunch buffet and I was super disappointed with the options. I didn't enjoy the spice or the flavor. The one thing I did like was that my kids were charged half price.

My family was hungry and wanted some Indian food so we came to this place expecting a decent lunch buffet; boy, were we surprised. Tandoori fish- reeked of chili, not actually tandoori, an absolute shame. Butter "chicken"- more accurate name would be just "butter": no chicken to be seen anywhere. The only good thing was the naan but that isn't really helpful when the rest of the food is so mediocre. To conclude, only come here if you have low tier, dead taste buds and don't mind eating some very subpar and mediocre "Indian" food.

Ignorant staff, serve loud rude group of the same race that came in after us first, told us one price for buffet, and another group $2 less, seems like fraud to me, walked away, rather give my business to an honest friendly establishment

I ate an early dinner around 5pm. The service was spectacular and food was fresh and hot! They had a decent selection of veg and non veg dishes. Everything was great, including the decor. I sat in the patio and enjoyed the lively Jasper atmosphere. In my books a definite come back restaurant. The quality is decent and services is spectacular!!

Strange business hours and poor information placed on the window when they're open. The door was unlocked so I asked then they would be opened and the rude person told me they were closed. I tried to eat there two separate occasions but, each time it was closed.

Food tastes OK but for dinner buffet the selection is quite limited. To make it worse many dishes were barely refilled before we were going to leave. This is not a bad place but it could be better. Also this $20 price could be much lower.
