The scissors and knife that Maulik Shukla at soho branch, sharpened for me are now exceptional!!! I don't think they were ever this good, even when new! Maulik was courteous and gave full explanations on how sharpening work would be done, giving regular updates on his progress. Great customer service throughout the process. Sadly JKC have been hugely let down by their courier DPD. I had to waste 2 hrs of my time, on foot, having to track down, door to door, the incorrect address that the driver had delivered to. JKC contacted DPD on my behalf, DPD gave no assistance whatsoever finding where package was. After I found the package, DPD customer support called me to say that they felt it was acceptable that driver had dropped package at unit 10, instead of my address unit 4, with no warning or notification of this address change. I hope that JKC can find a replacement courier company that will match their own high standard of service.

I had a private knife sharpening class for single bevel knives with Maulik and I can say that I had a great time. Maulik was very attentive and showed enthusiasm for my passion for Japanese knives. He went into detail about the theory behind the sharpening of single bevel knives and we ended up talking about knives until half an hour past the finish time! I must say in the end the knife I sharpened was razor sharp 🔪 would definitely recommend and I’m thinking about going back for more classes!

Wanting to be able to sharpen my home cooking knives independently, I attended a knife sharpening class in early July, taught by Maulik. He's clearly an expert in this area and a real wealth of information. The class was fantastic and I left with both theory and practical knowledge on how to maintain my (not that expensive) home knives. Highly recommended!!

Loved chopsticks collection. Staff is very helpful & kind. I asked for a display piece of a chopstick & was told to open a packed one and check on my own. Been to another branch at marble arch before & staff thier was similarly nice & helpful too and it had more tableware collections

It is sometimes unexpected to see how much information there can be on a topic like knife and sharpening. As a hobbyist, I decided to take a knife sharpening class to learn more, and I thoroughly enjoyed the session, which was both knowledgeable and professional yet approachable. I learned the basics of a new skill that will allow me to customise the way I use my humble knives for cooking. Thanks!

This knife company has all sort of different knives and it is sort of reminds me of a ToysrUs of knife shops. If you are a professional chef to a knife collector this is the place to go to. Is it overwhelming yes it is as there is such a huge range. Are the staff helpful yes they are very helpful so helpful I ended up buying a knife, well a meat cleaver made in Japan for 69 pounds yes it's massive but it does an amazing job one I can chop up meat with bones easily. They have all the different types of knives, all to a very high standard, yes they can be very expensive but it's an investment. They all the sharpening stones and tools etcetera. To owners: Don't spit in my face and call it rain. To customers: Don't let them handle your knifes if they are precious to you. The gentleman in front of me picking up a knife had the tip of his bunka missing and the point was bent. My freshly serviced knife had scratches and a chip. When insisting that it's not OK, the rhetoric changed rapidly from "it was like that when you gave it to us" to "it will never be perfect". Disgraceful. This was my third time sharpening and receiving an amateur service and excuses. Good knifes and knowledgeable staff but I will not set foot in any of their shops again after being insulted and getting told "mate, it's razor sharp".
