I recently had the chance to visit JAM CAFE, and while I was looking forward to a great breakfast, the experience was a bit of a mix. The food was pretty good, with some tasty options that I enjoyed. However, the customer service really put a damper on the whole outing.
We arrived and waited outside in the cold for about 25 minutes, which was already a bit uncomfortable but we knew this going in. When it was finally our turn, the waiter called us to come in, but to my surprise, he also chose to seat a couple from the back of the line. They pushed past us and were seated right away. It felt really frustrating, especially since we had been patiently waiting our turn.
As we continued to wait at the table, I noticed that the couple who was seated next to us was being helped immediately and getting their food quickly. Meanwhile, we felt completely overlooked. For the amount of time we waited compared to them, I expected a more attentive service, but it just wasn’t there.
Overall, while the food was decent, the service was disappointing and overshadowed the meal. For the long wait, I wouldn’t say JAM CAFE really stands out compared to some other great breakfast places downtown. Especially for the price. I hope they can improve their customer service because the food has potential, but the experience left me feeling let down.
