Heard about how good their jjajangmyun was and I had to try it out. I arrived shortly after 5p just after they opened their doors for dinner. I ordered the sweet and sour pork which came out first and it tasted pleasantly well but not amazing. I also wanted to try the spicy fried shrimp but I didn’t want to order too much food and not finish it (I should’ve just ordered it.) The main dish was the jjajangmyun and it did not disappoint. The sauce was pretty tasty but to me the noodles were the real showstopper.

The jjajangmyun was the stand out, noodles were cooked well with the perfect chew to them. The sauce was rich, and the onion pieces added a fun texture with each bite. Fried dumpling skin was crispy and the meat filling was well season. Staff were friendly and food came out very quickly.

Everything here was really solid. 8/10 across the board. Korean-Chinese food is one of my favorite cuisines, so I feel like my standards for judging are a little higher than usual. This place hits the spot, but nothing really stood out to me spectacularly. Feels like a comfort place that I’d go to regularly on my way home from work or something.

We checked out this place following the recommendation from a youtuber. The experience was quite disappointing. After we sat down and ordered, there were 3 other groups of Korean people came in one by one after us. After waiting for 15 minutes with no food, we watched 3 other groups got served before us even though we ordered the exact same thing - jjajangmyeon. We waited a little more then decided to ask one of servers to check on our food. The server then came in kitchen and got our food out right away. That young server got a big attitude though. When she put down the food, she let out a big SIGH like we were nuisance for asking about our food. No apology or quick explanation, simply just throw the plate on the table and turn away. We also ordered jjampong which came out a little bit after the long waited jjajangmyeon. Another Korean customer came in and sit same table with us got the same thing within 1 minute. And the food is not even that good by the way. If you have Korean town or Korean restaurant in your country and have jjajangmyeon in the menu, this taste 95% exactly like it or at least like the one we have in the midwest state of US. So if you’re foreigner, we highly recommend to stay out of this place and explore other restaurants or food. They don’t seem to welcome foreigners here.

Nestled in a side street of an older part of Hongdae, this small Korean-Chinese restaurant offers affordable dishes and fast service. Jjajangmyeon was tasty, with a glossy black bean sauce. The dumplings were extra crispy. Like most Korea-Chinese restaurants, the banchan offering was light compared to your standard Korean eatery. Wouldn’t travel across town to eat here, but if you’re in the area a visit is worth considering.

We had to wait a long time for a table of five and there isn’t a lot of waiting space but once we sat our food came out really fast. Have to admit it’s pretty comparable to food in ktown in LA, but it was still tasty.

The owner and staff are really nice! They also speak Mandarin and made great recommendations for us. Their food is fresh and not frozen (including the delicious and crispy chicken)! We had dumplings, zhajiangmian and Kung Pao chicken (don’t worry, it’s WAY better than any American Kung Pao Chicken!) This is the REAL DEAL!

The best Jajangmyun in Korea rich savory without too much sweetness! The other menus are also good as well
