Ikiji, located in Ryogoku, is a hidden gem for those who appreciate high-quality, thoughtfully designed clothing. Although the shop is a bit out of the way for me, I always make the trip a couple of times a year to pick up some of their latest items.
The owner’s attention to detail is evident in every piece, and their dedication to craftsmanship shines through. On their website, you can even find videos where the owner explains the inspiration and thought process behind each design, adding a personal touch to the shopping experience.
Ikiji releases two collections each year: Spring/Summer around January and Fall/Winter around July. Every season, they feature unique seasonal colors inspired by traditional Japanese hues. Since they produce a limited quantity of each size and color, I always check availability online before heading to the store.
For sizing, it’s worth noting that their fit runs smaller than standard American sizing—I’m typically a Medium in the U.S., but I often need an XL at Ikiji.
If you’re interested in their collections, I highly recommend following their Instagram and visiting their website to stay updated on upcoming releases. The quality, thoughtfulness, and artistry of their clothing make every trip well worth it.
