What a climb out!! good thing I'm on stair machine every day. My friend wasn't doing as well, leg cramps 1/2 way back...in the rain. But beautiful

Amazing and stunning nature and scenery. The Tallulah Gorge State Park is a beautiful place to spend an afternoon with nature. A hike down to Hurricane Falls is worth the hundreds of stairs up and down to cross the suspension bridge and behold the beautiful falls. Highly recommend a visit to the falls and Tallulah Gorge State Park.

Lots of stairs, over 1000 and a cool suspension bridge to the other side of the gorge.

Be prepared to walk 1,000+ stairs. Bring a water bottle, there are fountains along the way to fill up your bottle if you run out. There are wonderful views from above if you don't feel like making the long journey down and up all of the stairs. It's about 600-700 stairs to the suspension bridge depending on which side you're coming from (it's a little bit less stairs if you're coming from the north rim trail)

Beautiful & well pathed walkways. We did the whole circuit in 2 hours, taking it slowly with all the nature in.

Beautiful landscape, a good place for short and medium trailing to escape and free the burden of busy life.

The floor was closed and permits were not issued today but the views from up top were great. The dam is released on the 1st and 2nd weekend in April so plan accordingly if you want a permit for the bottom of the gorge.

I’ve lived in Georgia for many years, but I’ve never been to Hurricane Falls. What a treat it was. The area is pristine and very well maintained by the Department of Natural Resources. The walk down to the bridge is not for the faint of heart. There are 1067 steps just down to the bridge. I wouldn’t recommend doing this unless you are in very good shape and there are even signs cautioning visitors. We made the trek down and it was worth every one of those steps. The climb back up was a little tough, but it was the end of a long day, and we both made it just fine. I’d love to be able to come back here again and go all the way to the bottom of the falls. Next time we’ll make this our first stop in, not our last.
