The 31 Essential Restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

"As you enter Hum, by walking over a small pond filled with lotus leaves and fish, you immediately feel relaxed and calm. The restaurant’s aim is to demonstrate that vegetarian food can be a wonderfully complex experience for the palate far beyond fried tofu. The mushroom coconut curry, served in a fresh coconut, is at once sweet, creamy, spicy, and meaty, while the square deep-fried spring roll of mushroom and veggies is crispy on the outside and rich on the inside. Wash down the meal with shots of Vietnamese apricot rice wine." - Linh Phan

"Hum Vegetarian, Café & Restaurant Though vegetarian restaurants aren’t uncommon in Vietnam , they aren’t always easy to track down, and many vegetarian and vegan visitors end up settling for nonmeat options at normal eateries. (A traveler tip: The word chay means "meatless" or "vegetarian.") Hum Vegetarian Café & Restaurant is a reliably satisfying, MSG-free spot that prides itself on its eco-friendly practices and alluring flavors. Its inviting interiors include a tiled floor and hanging potted plants that create a calm, relaxed ambience. Warm, knowledgeable staff members serve dishes that regularly lure carnivores who are open to the principles of conscious consumption—at least for one meal."

Nicer veggie restaurant - very peaceful & feels spa-like. Get the mushroom fried spring rolls & sesame lotus chips.

had such a pleasant experience dining at this vegetarian restaurant! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I especially loved the Pad Thai — perfectly seasoned with the right mix of sweetness and spice. The spring rolls were light and refreshing, while the hotpot was rich, warm, and full of earthy flavors. The cozy ambiance made the whole meal even more enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a healthy yet satisfying dining spot!

I would rate it like 10 stars if I could. Exceptional service despite a power outage. The food was gorgeously curated and with that exceptional pride that was placed into every dish presented before us. If I ever go back Saigon, Hum & 4Ps are my main reason.

Really unique place with upscale Vietnamese vegan food. They have three different restaurants in the same building. The food is a bit pricey for Ho Chi Minh, but the service is very attentive and great.

Great place, decor is nice, service is great. The food as a non vegetarian was okay and the portion was small. The presentation was nice though. The two dishes I recommend is the steamed coconut egg curry and the soap. Also the passion fruit drink was AMAZING.

A Magical Culinary Journey – Like a Studio Ghibli Dream! Dining at HUM SIGNATURE was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The restaurant itself is stunning—a beautifully designed space that felt like stepping into a Studio Ghibli film, blending elegance with whimsy. We began our evening in a cozy waiting area, where we sipped on expertly crafted cocktails—the passion fruit with chili salt was a standout!Soon after, we were warmly greeted by our knowledgeable and enthusiastic waitress, Ms. Kieu Trang, who guided us through the evening with genuine passion. The 10-course tasting menu was nothing short of spectacular, showcasing locally sourced ingredients from across Vietnam—each dish was a masterpiece in flavor and presentation. We savored every bite over 2.5 hours, and the attentive Mr. Phuong Vu even checked in to ensure our experience was perfect. What impressed me most was how well they catered to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians, making it a fantastic choice for any diner. A truly memorable, must-try experience in every way!

This plant-based tasting menu was refreshingly creative, elegant, and expertly crafted. It integrates the vegetarian ingredients from north to south of Vietnam and combines many kinds of ingredients into the menu. Each dish, featuring seasonal ingredients, was surprisingly fresh and richly layered with flavor, like the lam dong king button mushrooms and ninh thuan jujube apple. The accompanying local wines complemented the dishes beautifully. The service was exceptional—attentive, warm, and genuinely thoughtful. The staff anticipated every need with a smile, making the experience truly memorable. Their knowledge and professionalism elevated the meal. Hereby we especially appreciate Mr Trung :) He is very talkative and introduced us a lot of characteristics of Vietnam:) Outstanding! While the portions were modest (as expected at a fine dining restaurant), the meal was satisfying and nutritionally balanced. The dessert was truly stunning—banana, an Giang from Tien Giang . The presentation was impeccable. For vegans and non-vegans alike, this experience redefines fine dining.

Wow this place deserves a Michelin star ⭐️. As a dedicated meat eater I was somewhat apprehensive about booking a fine dining experience at a vegetarian restaurant but this place is next level. The chefs here are true artists. The effort and presentation that went into every dish of this 10 course degustation menu was a work of art and the taste was sublime. Also the cocktails were amazing. The mixologist knows his stuff and the staff are all super friendly and informative. A special shout out to our amazing waitress Trang who looked after us so well (especially our 5 year old son with treats throughout the night 🤗). This is must visit if in Ho Chi Minh City and worth every cent (AUD$300 for 2). This would set you back AUD$600+ back home (if we were lucky enough to have a restaurant like this in Australia.

Quite a huge restaurant with shop on the ground floor, vegan cuisine on the 1st floor and Man Moi restaurant on the 2nd floor that we went. The mango salad and beef shank in star fruit hot pot that has a sour taste have some resemblance with Thai style but yet different. Seems to very popular with tourists. Will be back for more.
