"Huaca Pucllana, a restored centuries-old adobe ceremonial temple, has remarkably and defiantly sat right in the heart of Miraflores since 400 C.E. The temple complex includes a Wari (or Huari ) cemetery, where four preserved mummies were discovered in 2010, and a small museum housing artifacts, pottery and other excavated relics. It's especially atmospheric when illuminated at night, best seen from the on-site restaurant, an upscale and highly recommended spot for a memorable dinner."
We visited in the morning and it was the perfect time to go. It’s so cool to see this massive ancient site right in the middle of modern Lima and it was literally behind our hotel.
They offer tours in both English and Spanish, and it’s included in the ticket price. Yours are required to visit. Our guide did a great job explaining the history and how the structure was used by the Lima culture over 1,500 years ago. The pyramid made of adobe bricks is super impressive up close!

This is such a fun treasure in the city! It's a quick 45-60 min tour talking about the Lima culture that predates the Inca civilization. It's not an intense hike, but closed toed shoes and pants are a good idea just because of the dust. We went on an overcast day and it was perfect, I can see it getting super hot on a sunny day, there is no shade.

This was a great activity to do in Lima. This ancient pyramid is in the middle of the city which gives an amazing contrast. It is mandatory to book tickets with a guided tour, you can not walk freely over the pyramid. They offer student discounts so make sure to bring your studentcard if you have one. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a guided tour started in English. Make sure you bring sunscreen and/or other protection for the sun as the tour takes about 45-60 minutes and there is no shade anywhere. It is quite hot. Our tour guide told a lot of information about the site. It was quite interesting but due to her accent and her talking speed it was hard to follow everything. At the end of the tour you visit a garden with local flora and some animals. There is also a restaurant where you can eat with views over the pyramid.

It’s just astounding how this site was so well preserved over thousands of years of years. Guides speaking different languages are provided with the entrance tickets for an affordable fee. Well, the guide will tell you the clay structures do not erode over time because it never rains in Lima. We visited the site by chance on our last day in Peru after a two week tour, and what a pleasurable surprise capping our stay. Highly recommended !

This is a fantastic archaeological site where you can learn about pre-Inca civilisations that were based in the Lima region. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and the site itself was well-maintained. There's also a restaurant on-site that overlooks the pyramid. I highly recommend visiting this place if you're in Lima!

- Good place to visit.
- The ticket is like $7/adult and $4 if you are a student.
- They only have guided tours due to the historical significance of the place. They have tours in English and Spanish and it goes on for an hour.
- The most peculiar part is that it is in the middle of the city.
- IMPORTANT: They have loose sand in a lot is places so dress accordingly.

This is an ancient pyramid just uncovered in 1981. The site is still undergoing exposure/ archeological digs. This place is LITERALLY IN THE CENTER OF A COMMERCIAL & RESIDENTIAL AREA. Tours are granted every hour six days per week. There are “Senior discounts”available daily. Guided tours only .Outstanding “English speaking guide”. Tours are available in Spanish & English. The guide explained every detail of what was observed. Time was allotted for photo taking opportunities. Well worth the visit!!. Quite dusty as the group walked through guided paths, up close views of roped off areas. Photos allowed but not videos, NO TOUCHING “ STRICTLY ENFORCED”. WELL WORTH THE VISIT from an EDUCATORS VIEW.

This site is right in the heart of the city, yet is so huge! I was impressed with the tour and the fact that its still an active dig site, so in 20yrs they're hoping to have the whole thing excavated. It was cheap, the guide was informative, and I liked learning about the pre-Incan history of Peru. Would definitely recommend.
