House of Empanadas

House of Empanadas is an absolute gem! The taste of their empanadas is truly amazing, so fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The quality of the ingredients really stands out, and they offer a wide variety of empanadas to suit every palate, both salty and sweet. I personally adore the beef empanadas; they are absolutely delightful, and I could easily enjoy them every day. The staff and the owner are incredibly friendly and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. These empanadas are perfect for hosting events at your home; my guests always love them and often choose to enjoy the empanadas before trying anything else. It's always a joy to see the delight on their faces when they taste one for the first time. I also love buying their frozen empanadas to keep on hand at home. Whenever I have a craving, I simply bake or air-fry them, and they come out perfect every time. In addition to their amazing empanadas, they offer a few other products that I can't get enough of, their Chimichurri and Bruschetta sauces are fantastic, not just on empanadas but on a variety of meals. And their Dulce de Leche is the perfect sweet ending to any satisfying meal. Trust me, give them a try, they're totally worth it!

Stopped by and ordered a box of 6 empanadas. Two chicken, two beef, steak & provolone, and chorizo. Location is easy to find, ample parking out front, and very good visual street presence. Service was very good. The staff are friendly, and very personable. The empanadas took a few minutes, but they arrived fresh and piping hot. The presentation is extremely impressive. Very professional. They are packaged as if it's a gift. Not a bad idea to bring a box if you are visiting someone. Taste: without the smoky aioli or chimmichurri, the flavor is mild. Quality seems good. Value: a bit pricey for a weekly revisit. But worth it for a special once in a while treat.

Second time ordering from House of Empanadas and they don't disappoint with the quality and freshness of their products. Lots of options to choose from and very reasonable prices. A must try!

I ordered a box of 12 empanadas of various flavours and they were all delicious. My faves so far are the chicken and the pepperoni. Love the box presentation and really appreciate that each flavour is well labeled. Will definitely be back to try the other flavours!

Everything about this place is absolutely stellar. Their empanadas, the presentation, the service... All stellar! Absolutely excellent 👏 👌 👍! If you're craving comfort food, this is the place to check out. BTW, be prepared to wait 15 minutes for the empanadas to bake... Yes, they are made fresh at the facility and baked on order...

I knew about this place for a long time and wanted to try it as well. After droning some scenes, I took a bike ride to this colourful establishment. I was welcomed by the friendly owner himself at the take out window. I glanced at the posted menu outside and decided on 2 items:the chicken and the beef empanadas. I also got smoky aioli and chimichurri dipping sauces. They were freshly baked to order and delivered a short time later. Took them home in a pretty box on my bike and as seen in the photo, the pastry was nicely flaky and I shared them with my Latino roommate. We both enjoyed them and will go back to order some more and try new items. I could not resist and took some drone shots as well.

I’ve been a fan of their empanada since I discover this place 5 years ago! We love most of the stuff . Blue cheese is one of my fav, and bacon and cheese and prune😋 all of them are deliciousoooo ! And the cheese bun bites! 😋 Dulce de leche! And alfajor😋. I would recommend House of Empanada ! And also easy for me to get it since it’s near to where live.

If you haven't had House of Empanadas, put down the review, hit directions, and go now to get your Empanadas. Now is the time, and you need to go now. This place has mastered Empanadas, and they are beautiful. The flakey crust, deep flavourful fillings, and side sauces are delicious. The crust is flakey, baked to perfection, toasty on the outside and soft, moist, and just the right thinness on the inside. These Empanada fillings are packed. And you get the right mix of filling and crust in each bite. My personal favorite was the Chorizo and Cheese, followed by Spinach and then Steak & Provolone of the 3 I tried...so far. This caused a big argument between my friend and I, as his favorite is the Steak & Provolone, but to each their own. Blink and you'll miss it, so don't blink because this is a walk up that doesn't have seating inside. They make your Empanadas fresh to order in 20 minutes. Be patient, take a moment, and just wait. It'll be worth it. My only disappointment is that I didn't grab some bags for home baking.

Quite possibly the cutest walk-up window to a food production facility. Definitely the cutest in the Bermondsey light-industrial corridor in East York. The empanadas are made fresh so despite the welcoming window, you do need to order in advance. Twenty minutes usually gives them enough time to make you a fresh batch. I got a dozen assorted and was impressed by the design-forward packaging and presentation. Friendly service too. The empanadas were really nice. The pastry is flakey but holds together very well. The fillings come in lots of varieties, veg, vegan, and meat. The corn one is a sweet treat. The chicken was tender and flavourful. They provide some sauces that are quite tasty so it's worth asking for extra. I would have liked more heat but easy enough to add your favourite hot sauce after you bite into one. At $43 per dozen, it's about $3.75 per piece, which, pound for pound, is more expensive than pizza or samosas but worth it for something different and as close to home made as you can get from a production kitchen.

Tried a few Empanadas, the pastry shells were very buttery and flaky, the chicken filling was delicious, the sauces just took it to the next level! Cheese and ham filling tasted very salty (I usually like saltier taste, but this is some next level saltiness, not sure if it's just a bad batch since they aced the chicken's taste). This was a take out, so can't comment on service and ambiance.

Wow, I think I'll just pack up my things and move into the House of Empanadas. Who knew the best empanadas in the city would come from a takeout spot and in a (beautifully laid out and labelled) cardboard box? Had a box of 12 empanadas delivered and they came nice and warm. Got beef, chicken, spinach, nutella, apple, and a wacky cheese-bacon-prune flavour. I'm not exaggerating when I say there wasn't a miss in the bunch. The empanadas were golden brown, properly flaky, and super buttery. They were all generously stuffed with tasty fillings. If I had to rank, I guess for the sweet ones, I preferred the apple to the nutella. And for the savoury ones, hmmm, this is tough. I guess it'd be cheese-bacon-prunes, beef, chicken, then spinach. But again, I really loved all of them. The aioli sauce that came with was also really good - super smoky and went well with all the savoury empanadas. Added an alfajores to cap it all off and I liked that as well - powdery, chewy and just on the right side of sweet. As you can see, I'm a huge fan of House of Empanadas and will be taking permanent residence in it from now on.

Not sure if they were having an off day or something but these empanadas were genuinely terrible. I'm not sure if there's a ghost kitchen using their name on Ubereats or what, but I was actually shocked at how bad these were considering their reviews and beautiful the presentation. No flavour at all. The guacamole tasted like it had mayonnaise in it (?) and was served with pita chips.

House of Empanada will be my go-to takeout spot when I go to Home Depot Curity. Discovered this place from Sunday Farmers' market at Greenwood Park. Staff at the booth kindly hinted me that if I pick up from their store, it will be a lot less $$$$ ( It was almost double the prics at Lealie Farmers Market) Was very impressed by their packaging and each printed label first. Thought it could be a nice looking edible gift. Each empanadas was very fresh, flaky and soft. Filling was all yummy but my favorite has to be chicken & beef. You can also purchase frozen empanadas to bake at home.

Best Empanadas I ever tasted. I bought 6 and ate 3 in the car. The chimichurri sauce takes it to the next level. I will have to try the sweet empanadas next time.

These empanadas are awesome! We've only ever ordered and have never visited the store in person but it always comes piping hot and in a great box with little tags telling us which empanadas we got. I'm a big fan of their chimichurri sauce as well, which you can order a jar of if you like it as much as I do. They just do empanadas, and they do them well. There are some really unique flavours and combinations and I have not been displeased with any of them so far. Mu favourites have been the spinach cheese, chicken, beef, and...well actually I like all of them! We've even tried their dessert ones (nutella and apple) both of which are surprisingly good. They're great at making the pastry. Definitely recommend!

Amazing empanadas and presentation for your delivery order! They are not gluten-free but they are 100% full of flavour :-)

Order from here on Uber. Delivery driver said he saw them baking the empanadas fresh and I can definitely tell. I got the beef and it was super flavourful, flaky and juicy. Highly recommend
