I want to come back to this Hotel again. I loved the friendly staff that were there. They made me feel welcomed and did their best to accommodate me on my stay. The history of the building, staff, proximity to transit, and being in an area that is quiet enough to have a good night sleep, I can’t recommend them enough. Make sure to choose this spot when you come to visit Lisbon.

Loved everything about this place! Really gives an authentic experience of an old mansion (very well kept and renovated) with beautiful inner yard garden and large clean room, with bathtub and bide. Great location, lots of restaurants short walk away, but also quiet, which is very valuable after the fuss of the city. Very nice and helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Will definitely come back!

Just ending a week's stay incorporating 4 days work at the Lisbon Congress Centre plus 3 days tagged on for leisure, my young adult son accompanying me. The location was good for both purposes, just a brief taxi ride or pleasant 25-30 minute walk to wherever you want to go.|Lovely historic character hotel with comfortable beds and good breakfast options. Very friendly and welcoming staff.|Less mobile visitors need to note there are steps, as everywhere in Lisbon!

A group of 18 us went and stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was great, the rooms were large and welcoming and the breakfast in the courtyard was lovely. The location is fantastic and is minutes away from most everything. It was so great that some of our group has already been back! It was lovely.

Very cozy hotel in Lisbon with nice inside yard to spend the time, nice brakfast and very nice service. Stuff verry attentive to our big group. In walking distance to Lisbon center, convenient mini market around. As a group we enjoyed our time.

Comfortable rooms. Breakfast was limited but enjoyable. Polite, helpful staff. Convenient location. The only thing I can say was less enjoyable, is that there are a lot of stairs to get to the rooms. But it’s peaceful and beautiful.

We absolutely loved every moment of our stay at York House Hotel. From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly and everything about our stay was wonderful. The room was clean and beautiful. I was even given a kettle for the room as I don't drink coffee so I could make tea in my room. (Top tip bring tea bags if like me you need a cuppa) The breakfast was delicious we enjoyed it every morning and actually the best I've experienced. The courtyard is beautiful, definitely one of my highlights. You really can't go wrong staying here. If you have mobility issues be aware of the stairs, there are 50 steps upto the hotel. The porter will help with luggage if needed. If he isn't at the entrance ring the bell. But the steps are worth the walk and it's such a peaceful hotel away from the hustle of the centre, but so easy to get on public transport. We brought a Lisboa card €23 each (which covers all transport and some museums etc...)one of the days and brought a navigate card €9.80 for the remaining days which covers transport for 24 hours, you have to buy these at metro/ train stations in cash. Worth while, the bus/tram/ metro trips very quickly add up in a day and believe me with all the hills you will want them.

Beware - they will sell you a 'junior suite' and then put you in a regular room with none of the advertised facilities (e.g. private terrace, seating area) and make you feel unreasonable for complaining. Otherwise it's a nice hotel, good location in a fairly quiet neighborhood (though busy road) - hotel has a lovely courtyard and old-world feel (also extends to very dated bathroom fittings). But minimal facilities for a 4 star hotel. Get the feeling they are somewhat complacent as they get a lot of business from the French Embassy.
