"Hotel Wailea is a favorite of honeymooners as the sole adults-only resort on the island. Tucked away within a rainforest, the luxury hotel still has incredible ocean views and a shuttle service that can take you to beaches of your choice. With a hyper-local menu sourced from Maui’s farms and coastline, you can guarantee incredible dining experiences, whether enjoying meals at a poolside cabana or on a special date night at a private treehouse." - Shelby Wax
"Give us your first impressions. On arrival, it felt like we had entered a rainforest retreat, the kind of escape we'd hoped for on an adventure to Maui. We were initially drawn to the property because it was on 15 acres of ocean view, tropical land, and it didn't disappoint on that respect. What’s the crowd like? The overarching desire from this traveler is a crowd that doesn't include children. The property is just for adults, and that's so appreciated. If you're checking into Hotel Wailea, you're going to get some peace and quiet. How was check in? Check-in, like the vibe of the property, was casual, intimate, and seamless. Absolutely no technical difficulties. How were the rooms? We stayed in an Ocean View Suite, and gasped when I opened the sliding doors and the ocean breeze hit me. The room's decor was sleek and refined. Oak floors, coral fossil stone, and Hawaiian Ohia wood cabinetry were neutral—a color scheme that ensured a sense of ease. Room service and food: What did you have?I was so excited to see The Hotel Wailea describe their menu as "hyper-local," focusing on Maui's produce. I started the meal off with torched ahi tuna, that came with Australian Black Truffle Tare on brioche. And though I was tempted to go for the macadamia nut crusted Colorado lamb, I opted for steamed maki mahi-mahi with bok choi. Any other tips?Allow the staff to arrange a beach picnic, a gourmet spread in a "curated" location on the sand while you watch the sunset next to some beaching turtles. Fan of vintage cars? Take the drive of your dreams in one of their 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster reproduction. You can also arrange kiteboarding lessons, sunset sailing, and aerial yoga. Bottom line: Worth it?If you're looking to have an outstanding experience on Maui, this hotel doesn't disappoint in any department." - Corbin Chamberlin
"Perched in the hills and stretching across 15 secluded acres, each of the hotel's 72 luxurious one-bedroom suites comes with prime ocean views, making you feel as though you're in your own private beach house. The hotel also has a restaurant where you can enjoy dishes made with local produce and seafood." - Travel + Leisure Editors
"One of the best resorts in Hawaii, according to our readers, isn't beachfront. But that's actually a positive at Hawaii's only luxury adults-only resort, with 72 suites spread over 15 acres with 180-degree views of neighboring Lanai and Kaho‘olawe. Though there's a shuttle to the beach (and attendants to help you with umbrellas, towels, and the like once you hit the sand), be sure to put your vacation in the hands of the incredible staff. Allow them to organize a beach picnic—a gourmet spread to be enjoyed at sunset. You can also arrange kiteboarding lessons, sunset sailing, and aerial yoga. Fan of vintage cars? Take the drive of your dreams in Hotel Wailea's 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster reproduction—provided you know how to drive manual, that is." - CNT Editors, Betsy Blumenthal
