Great alternative to a large hotel. Situated on a quiet residential street. Rooms are spacious, clean and new and nicely decorated. Some of the rooms perfect for a family and priced fair. Subway station right next to the hotel with only two stops to the Stephansplatz.|Nice breakfast buffet.|Highly recommend if you are not looking for or are in need of large hotel amenities such as big lobby, gym, restaurant etc.

A great hotel for a family. The garden apartments are perfect for 4. One twin and 1 double with a bathroom and separate toilet. There is a tube station outside the door which is only 3 stops to central Vienna (or you can walk 20-25 minutes). For the kids - Prata fun fair is only a 20 minute walk or 15 minutes on the tube. A great base to explore Vienna.

Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in for a perfect city break.. everything was perfect including location (proximity to transport, restaurants etc). The beds were so comfortable, the rooms were spacious and superbly clean. |The Breakfast room was calm and inviting and the breakfasts were simple but lovely. |This hotel is a fabulous haven of peace and comfort in a beautiful city! We would love to stay again sometime

A superb hotel on a quiet neighborhood street, just steps from an extremely handy U-bahn stop Rochusgasse, on the U3. We had a 'superior family room with garden view' on the 3rd floor of an annex building behind the main hotel's garden, perfect and quiet and elegant back there, and at a reasonable price for a 2-night stay (about $250/per night, excellent breakfast included) Just a lot of nice space to stretch out, well-lit with big windows, balcony, birds, trees, lovely. And the surrounding neighborhood is quiet and walkable, with a somewhat busy urban street with local restaurants, cafes and supermarkets and a lively market/stall/shop area a couple blocks away. Nothing to not love about this hotel - the best place we stayed on our recent 2-week Eurotrek.

We loved our stay here. Everything was perfect-from checking in, to our lovely room, to breakfast. The location is easy to get everywhere in the city. The area surrounding the hotel was filled with beautiful architecture. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Vienna!!

Super cute hotel in the heart of beautiful Vienna. We stayed in the Garden Suite and everything was exceptional. Street parking was less than 5 Euros, the subway station is across the street, and the amenities are excellent. We highly recommend this hotel.

The location is great -- very convenient to the metro, and then it's only two stops to the old town. It was nice to be in a quiet oasis for sleeping, but so close to the central area. ||The rooms were nicely appointed, and very clean. We were a family of four, and the main area with bed was very nice. The separate bunk bed room was a bit challenging, as the ladder goes right up to the wall, requiring one to step onto the ladder from the side. ||There is a coffee center with a carafe available for you to make your own, 24/7, including milk! There is also filtered water so that you can fill your bottles for the day. Very nice touches, and appreciated. ||We did not get the breakfast, but we took a look and thought that the offerings appealed more to adults. There are several bakeries in the area, so you can pick up food there.||Our room had a balcony, which we loved for eating breakfast in the morning. There are only two chairs, however, so we had to take turns outside. Also, we would have liked some physical separation from the room next door (there is no physical barrier, so in theory, the guests of two separate rooms could be outside on the balcony at the same time.) Thankfully, we did not run into the other guests, although we did see that they had hung some men's underwear to dry on one of their chairs. ||The air conditioning in the room worked very well. We liked having a separate bathroom with a toilet and sink only, in addition to the bathroom with a shower. Very convenient. ||Our biggest issue is that the fitted sheet on the lower bunk bed was riddled with holes, some the size of a quarter. We didn't notice until bedtime ("after hours" for the hotel), so there was nothing to be done for the first night of our stay. I was flummoxed as to how a hotel would use sheets in such a poor condition. The next morning, I asked for the sheet to be changed, and they took care of it while we were out. ||Overall, a very good experience that was marred by the experience with the sheet. We would definitely return, but would inspect our sheets immediately after checking in.

We had a very nice large room, very clean, good mattress with a small balcony. The location of the hotel is on a quiet street, very close to subway Station and parallel to a large street with many stores.|Breakfast was wonderful, all organic with fantastic apple strudel. The staff was very professional. I had all my clothes laundered, so much easier than a laundromat. I would highly recommend.

Louis R is back in the building. Louis R loves Austrian hotels that only have 24 rooms, has beautiful architecture, has large organized rooftop rooms with large sky lights and a balcony overlooking the garden, large clean bathrooms with a bidet, delicious breakfast options, a clean spa, and prompt, affable service. Louis R loves the proximity of this hotel to the Underground and to the city center (located in District 3). Vienna, Austria is just as lucky to have famous/infamous iconic figures roll through it's city streets, like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Gaston Glock, Sigmund Freud, Adolf Hitler, Franz Schubert, Christoph Waltz and Louis R. Be like Louis R. Travel to Vienna, Austria.

Perfect spot to stay in Vienna! First of all, I want to highlight how wonderful and accommodating Ulla Spiess is! I may have been a bit of a difficult visitor after I wanted to swtich rooms. Ulla was accommodating and wonderful about everything. She's also quite nice and really friendly. I visited this spot recently and it really is a super spot to stay in Vienna. It is approximately 3 stops from the "center" of town (depending on what you consider the center) and it's really easy to navigate the trains. The location that the B&B is in is really quaint and there are local restaurants nearby as well, so you don't have to travel to the more touristy area. Ulla had a great restaurant recommendation for my first night there (delicious and inexpensive!). I stayed four nights and had a great time. I was in two rooms while I was there (my fault that I moved). Both rooms were impeccably clean and comfortable. The breakfast area is really charming and there is an area that has glass windows where you can feel like you are eating in the garden. The food is really great and fresh. Cheeses, meats, cereals, juices, pastries...I could go on and on. The made to order scrambled eggs are great, too! Coffee is delicious! Everyone is really helpful and they really make you feel like you are staying in their home. The B&B is expanding - I'm not sure when everything will be open, but there may be more room options soon. Thanks to Hotel Pension Spiess & Spiess Appartements for a great visit! I hope to be back!

Coziest bed and breakfast! We spent New Year's here and it was amazing. The neighborhood is quiet and very near to the underground entrance. They have a posh breakfast area and a great selection. Definitely coming back when we're in Vienna.
