Hotel Santa Caterina Siena

What a beautiful hotel! The view over the countryside is jaw dropping. The room was ok, older which matched the vibe of the building but it was not very comfortable. The bedding was dated and the pillows were not comfortable. The breakfast was good with fresh fruit cheese and bread. The service was great, they have on site parking and everyone was very nice. Overall the view sells this place and just that is worth the stay Overall the view alone

I stayed at the Hotel Santa Catarina in Siena on August 12 during an almost 5000 km endurance bicycle race from the Atlantic Ocean to the Black Sea. As such, I had some special needs and was very tired. The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic. We also stayed here in 2017 and the hotel was great then. The staff were excellent, the hotel was very comfortable, and the location is perfect with access to the old city. I have nothing but good things to say about this place!

Good location, good service, beautiful garden, fantastic views and stylish reception area and yet the room we had was pretty inconvenient to stay in. WiFi patchy, couldn’t get proper signal in room 14. Parking scary, bring a small car or ask the receptionist to park for you.

Lorenza, the proprietor and her staff were superb! Lorenza was instrumental in helping secure reservations to some excellent osterias and trattorias. She was professional, pleasant and very helpful. Her three concierges were very professional and full of info. Location of the hotel, one block outside of Siena city's Porta Roma was very convenient. A beautiful garden patio looking out to the Tuscan countryside for breakfast was postcard perfect! Gracie mille, Lorenza!

A truly amazing place to stay. Super friendly and helpful staff, amazing rooms and location. Having breakfast with such an amazing view away from the busy Siena centre was pure luxury. Thoroughly recommend!

A lifelong friend and I went to Siena to see her son, who is attending a semester in Siena. Hotel Santa Caterina was recommended by a mutual friend and was a highlight of our trip! The staff is so incredibly kind, the breakfasts are delicious and the rooms were simple, clean, beautiful and SO comfortable. The beds, linens and pillows were so cozy in both of our bedrooms. The view off the garden and terrace was peaceful...spectacular. I can't recommend Hotel Santa Caterina more highly. I'll look forward to staying there again!

Tired rooms, linens and baths... needs refresh of old filled blankets, bath tiles taped onto wall, holes in seats of chair in room. Stained nasty portfolio as well.

Traditional hotel with an amazing view from the garden. Sadly weather wasn’t quite right for enjoying the view and without that you are based 15 walk from town (which if you go back and forth in the day needs to be taken into account). Our room was a decent size but did face the road, and I’d agree with an earlier review that updating the bed cover would brighten things. The hairdryer is one of the old fashioned ones on the wall, so might be best to bring your own. Breakfast was good though given it is a cold buffet it would be simpler to be able to self-serve. The staff were friendly and helpful but if we returned I would probably get somewhere in the centre of Siena.

Lovely, quaint hotel minutes from the gate to the old city. Friendly accommodating staff. We are so impressed with the breakfast, the outdoor sitting area, tasteful Italian lobby and clean rooms. The rooms are small, so if you are looking for big brand size this isn't for you. There is a lift and we were on the 1st floor. Best decision to split up our city visits and stay here. Great cappuccinos too! Bonus!

My apologies. Santa Caterina in Siena provides free secure parking. The comment about parking in my previous review was meant for a different hotel in a different city where we stayed the next night. (I should not have written 2 reviews at the same time.)
