Hotel Rum Budapest

Truly enjoyed our stay here. A trendy and unique place that was reasonably located. Prices were good and staff was helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Only comment is the rooms are not too sound proof and you can here a decent amount, especially hall noise. However the nights wer quiet enough. The rooms had great mirror placement 😈 Highly recommend though.

Stayed for 3 nights at Hotel Rum. The friendliest staff here, very welcoming and helpful. The room was very generous in size, and came with tea/coffee, and toiletries and a hairdryer!!||They offered breakfast at an additional charge, however we wanted to explore other local places so we went there. ||Bed was very comfortable |Lots of storage space|good number of plug sockets||overall had a really pleasant time and would come back.

My husband and I loved our 3-night stay at the Hotel Rum! Intriguing building with central spiral staircase, spacious high-ceilinged room with equally spacious bathroom. Location is perfect to walk to most areas of the city, or 3-min walk to closest Metro station at Kalvin ter. There is a fine restaurant on first floor that we did not sample, but their rooftop bar is amazing, with fabulous views of the city and serves an excellent breakfast. Insider tip: they will loan you towels to take to the Thermal Baths. Would happily stay again!

There’s a lot to like about this hotel. The rooms are nice (with one exception I’ll come to later), the communal areas are well maintained and modern, the staff are friendly and very helpful, the breakfast area has fantastic views across the city rooftops and the overall location is great. ||But would we stay again? Sadly not. The main issue is that the bathroom is a glass box in the main bedroom, with the toilet placed not so strategically next to the glass facing the bed. That may be some people’s thing, but public-albeit frosted glass- toileting is not for us. I think if we’d spotted this when booking, we would have passed on the hotel. Another issue was that the bed was extremely firm, but that is personal preference so not a deal breaker. It was still comfortable. ||The food was really good. Very tasty and a wonderful setting. ||So there’s a lot of positives and one not so positive. We did end up stringing a towel across the glass to obscure the view, so it wasn’t the end of the world.

We stayed there for 4 nights in new year holiday. It was perfect. Good location close to everything. Clean stylish big size room. Friendly staff. Meshilin restaurant with best view breakfast and dinner. We will come back.

This hotel is on the Mr & Mrs Smith web site and should be of a good standard, however our experience was not good. Poor attitude from the outset from the young receptionist, one guest said someone was in their room when checked in no real empathy to resolve. Our room was dark, lots of black paint, low level lighting and multi plug cable hanging from the wall. Double bed had two single duvets strange way to set up a bed in our opinion. Small all black bathroom no hanging space.This hotel should be reviewed by Mr & Mrs Smith and BA Holidays as the web site does not represent the experience we had, so much so we checked out and went elsewhere after one night!

Breakfast is great and made even better by the wonderful views. |There are metro, tram and bus stops just a few minutes walk away . It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the banks of the Danube at Liberty bridge. |The hotel is on a quiet street but just around the corner are busier places to see. Lots of food options near by.

Have been doing a month long trip around Europe, and this hotel was by far the worst out of the 5 i’be been to so far. I am usually not picky, but I feel like I was catfished in so many ways. On their pictures online, the rooms look spacious and comfortable. When I got into my room, it was the size of a shoe box, very small and hard to move around in. There were mirrors staring at you in all directions, the lights were confusing, and the keypad to get in kept falling off. They also didn’t mention that there is construction going on across the street, starting at 5 am… I hated my experience here, and what I thought would be one of the nicer hotels I would be staying at - ended up being the worst. I do NOT recommend.
