"While there are several Praktik mini-chain outposts in Barcelona, only one has a Baluard bakery right on site, meaning the scent of fresh-baked bread and pastry is included in the rates (which are some of the most reasonable in town). The whitewashed Lazaro Rosa-Violán-designed rooms are small but comfortable and come with all the basic creature comforts. And whatever the hotel lacks in glitz and glamour it more than makes up for in location…and carbs. "

This was just what I needed. This hotel for me was perfect, it was centrally located, safe, above a bakery if I wanted to get food either early morning or late at night, close to a taxi stand that was right on the corner. For me safety and being close to areas I want to see is important and this fit that. It's also close to a lot of shopping and metro stations so if you don't want to use a taxi all of that is close by too. It's also handicap accessible. The receptionist & the people at the bakery were so sweet and helpful.

I am writing here a review on the hotel customer service not the bakery. The bakery is excellent and my family eats there regularly. I had a very unpleasant encounter with a member of the hotel staff named Ruth that is unlike anything I have ever experienced in any other similar establishment. I had just ordered three items from the bakery and sat down and realized that I needed a glass of water. So I walked 10 feet within the same room to pour myself a glass of tap water from a ledge where there was a large bottle of tap water and many clean glasses. As I was leaving the woman who works at the hotel desk made a huge scene and said that section was for paying hotel customers. I explained I had just paid for a meal at the bakery and was only taking a glass of tap water. She continued to make a huge scene in front of everyone. I was quite embarrassed for her. We are talking about a glass of tap water after all. It was closing time for that section and there were no customers partaking from that section. If I wanted to get a glass of tap water from the bakery it would have taken me 5-10 minutes because there was a long line. I wonder if she would have also made a huge scene if I tried to take a napkin from the wrong pile or throw something away in the wrong trash can? This kind of treatment of customers is literally jaw dropping for me. I had been referring friends that come to visit to this hotel simply because I like the bakery and the room rates seem reasonable but will no longer be doing so.

Great little hotel. Close to all the sights, and the bakery below was a nice addition. The hotel does a great breakfast as well, and certain tables are reserved for the hotel breakfast. Rooms were clean. While they are small, they are efficient. I run warm, so would have preferred AC but was fine without it. Great value and location - would recommend!

I stayed for two nights in January. The bakery concept is lovely, and their croissants are to die for. My room was VERY small, but for one night or potentially even two nights it is fine. There was some kind of gamers' congress in town when I stayed, and the price for this room was absurdly high. The hotel's location is great, and the room was quiet despite the crowds outside. The service was adequate.

We recently stayed 5 nights on a recent trip to Barcelona. The location was perfect, with easy access to the metro and buses, but also very walkable to popular sites. Having the bakery right in the lobby was clutch. The hotel offered a great breakfast, but if you weren't as hungry or in a bit more of a hurry the bakery was a great option. All of the staff we encountered were incredibly helpful, and were always on the move and working hard. The rooms were a bit small, but I think that is expected in a lot of European hotels. They were very clean and the space was laid out well. I will absolutely stay there again if I ever return to Barcelona.

We really enjoyed staying at the Hotel Praktik Bakery. The staff were amazing. They were helpful, kind & very personable. Having a bakery in your hotel was fabulous, everything we tasted was delicious. The location of the hotel is perfect, not too far from all the main areas, very walkable, & we felt safe in the area. Especially since it was our first time to Barcelona. The rooms are small but efficiently laid out. Definitely would recommend this hotel.

A great hotel overall. The rooms are on the small side but well laid out and designed and perfect for a city break. Whilst on a road with a little traffic they were well sound proofed and rooms air conditioned so slept well every night. The area is nice with easy access to public transport. With the bakery downstairs, the smell is amazing of fresh bread every morning! Staff were friendly and helpful. Would go back again!

Rooms are clean and there’s a bakery on the main floor which is great! Rooms are efficient with the bathroom basically being right in the entryway to the room. Toilet and shower have separate spaces with frosted glass doors though so it works. People were nice and the coffee was great!
