"A somewhat newcomer to the Lower East Side, Hotel Indigo stands out, literally, as one of the tallest buildings in its radius, which translates into unparalleled views of the neighborhood and beyond. Not surprisingly, the hotel has a rooftop bar (Mr. Purple) and a modestly sized pool—not necessarily for doing laps, but it adds to the atmosphere. The rooms are modern and the best ones have floor-to-ceiling glass windows. The duplex penthouse suite might be the biggest splurge, but the outdoor terrace room on the seventh floor is pretty special, too."

This hotel is in a great location. In any direction you walk, you'll find great restaurants, bars, coffee and shopping. However, there is a loud club on the 14th floor, so if that's not your vibe, stay elsewhere. We didn't realize this, and when we checked in that night, they gave us a warning, but didn't have another room to move us. Even though we were on floor 19, we heard throbbing music, yelling and people singing. This goes on until about 3am. While I'm glad people are out having fun, you should know this before you book a room. They offered to move us to a higher floor the next day. Floor 24 and you can still hear the club! We only heard this on the weekends. There is one common space to hang out, with a small pool, outside sofas and a bar. The views are great! I will say that one afternoon around 4pm, we were hanging out in this area playing a card game with our adult son and his girlfriend. Someone came over and told us that we needed to move because there was a private event getting ready to happen. Kind of a bummer since we wanted to enjoy the amenities, and the man telling us wasn't the friendliest when announcing this. Besides the location, other positives are that the beds were comfortable, the AC works very well and our housekeeper, Sally, was super sweet and did a wonderful job.

Loved this hotel! If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this might not be the place — but if you enjoy a fun, lively vibe, you’ll love it here. The rooftop bar is fantastic with amazing views. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the front desk staff were super friendly and helpful.

The location is excellent, quiet during the day and exciting at night, especially on weekends when the youth invade the area's bars. We thought it was fun and lively—also, great shopping around the area, many thrift shops. ||The room was clean, had good air conditioning, excellent closet space, and the bathroom was great, especially the shower. We had some issues with the soap on our room, but other than that, all good.||Regarding the noise, many other reviews address this issue: On the eighth floor, there is no problem in the room, but in the hallways, you can hear the noise and music. Additionally, on weekends, they often prioritize club guests for the elevator over other guests, especially late at night. They can say any excuse (like they told me at the hotel), but we had 4 elevators go up to the club while we waited for ours to go to our room, and yes, we identified as guests and had our key in our hand. ||The rooftop view was incredible. (not so much the cocktails, worst Aperol Spritz in New York). The view from the room, floor 8, was perfect, especially at sunset.||Having said all this, I would stay again at this property.

This is like a party hub! Don’t come if you wanna sleep. ( At least on the weekends) I had a corner room above Mr. Purple and enjoyed the views and the club hours! The location is perfect and the hotel staff were extremely nice! Loved our room, can’t speak on any other rooms, but mine was nice and spacious. Try to get a corner room! This is a 3 star hotel experience. If you want a comfy bed, central location in trending lower east side and relatively spacious room, for a ”cheaper price” this does the job. Avoid a room in higher up floors due to nightclub in same building. ||Some notes to summarise the stay:|- No charm or nice lobby area/cafe/restaurant to hangout. So makes it a completely anonymous experience. Rg no toilets, you have to go to nightclub toilets if open|- Theres a gym, its small, so can get crowded at 8/9am. We were 5 at one point. If no one there it does the job|- The nightclub, its noisy, all hotel guests share same elevator and entrances as clubbers… my room was 4th floor didnt hear any of the music from complaints in reviews. I read floor 8 and above you can hear it. So makes a request otherwise you will have a terrible experience.|- The rooftop bar/ pool, its accessible to guests but its not run or owned by the hotel. So twice when I went up it was closed for private events. Don’t be fooled that this will gain you access just because youre a guest. Didn’t see a single person in the pool, there are no pool chairs so its more sofa / lounge vibes. Its a great view though.

I've always preferred this hotel when visiting New York. The location alone is incredible, but the staff and accommodations have never disappointed. This trip however went ABOVE and BEYOND thanks to one Tiberius. We were visiting for my birthday and not only did he make storing our bags a breeze and help with an early check in, but he made me feel like he actually cared it was my birthday and wanted to make it extra special. He upgraded us to the most amazing room I could have asked for--champagne and all. It certainly made our stay. Not just the room, but the clear thoughtfulness. I can't describe how friendly and overall outstanding his service was, all I can say is we can't wait to return and see Tiberius again on our next stay, as we will absolutely be back. Highly recommend.

We booked this beautiful hotel room for my fiance's birthday week celebration and we could not have been happier. Room was perfect. View sensational. Ideal location. Friendly and professional staff. Tiberius went above and beyond to make our stay special. We will definitely be back!

Google
No doubt this was a 4.5/5-star boutique when it opened. Now I’d say 3-3.5. I chose this hotel because I was going to the US Open (tennis) in Flushing Meadows and a couple of Broadway shows. Maps said it was about a 16 min cab ride either way. Public spaces The hallway artwork on every floor has been defaced and graffitied, like the back of a bathroom stall door. Immediately devalues what you paid for. The hotel & Purple, the night club The hotel clientele is predominately late thirties to fifties; some parents with late teens. Purple caters to the 20 something crowd. The music is so loud, it booms throughout the hotel. That continues to about 1:30/2 am. Then the volume is reduced slightly to a duller boom, boom, boom. Ownership has created a situation where there’s dissonance between the hotel’s guests and the 20 something year-old club attendees that will continue to impact reviews. Location Was great. You’re right around the corner from Katz deli and Russell & Daughters--😋. The 20 somethings are very active in the area after 11pm hitting bars, clubs, and pizza joints, at least thurs-sat. I felt safe walking around solo. Staff Were extremely kind and welcoming. Concierge had no visual indication he was a concierge. I told him I didn’t know the NYC subway system. While enthusiastic and kind, he didn’t help me feel confident that I could navigate by subway. The rooms LOVE the heated bathroom tile floors. Recommend they retreat the wood floors; they need love. Check out As I checked out, I was told I had to pay a $34-35 a day resort fee. I don’t recall that being disclosed prior. I booked through Expedia. I never resort-ed.

Yelp
This is the second time that I stay at this hotel. However, it used to be called something else before it was called Hotel Indigo. This place is located in a really cool area in the LES. Katz Deli is right on the corner, and you are right near a slew of restaurants and bars. We arrived in New York really early in the morning. We arrived at the hotel to see if they would be able to accommodate an early check in. The front desk lady and her colleague were friendly and made an effort to accommodate us. They only had standard rooms available, which was a blessing, so we were able to settle in and we were told we could move room the next day to our upgraded rooms. Of course, there was a charge, but we did appreciate that they allowed us to check in. The standard room has a smell to it, it needs work, but the bed was there, and we took a nap. In the afternoon, we checked out their pool, its literally a 3 FT pool with the most amazing view of the Manhattan Skyline. They have tables and a few lounges in the area. They have friendly wait staff that comes around and takes your order or you can order inside at the bar. Unfortunately, you have to pay with cash or your card, because you can't charge anything to your room. All in all, we had a good experience except for the one front desk lady that had the worst attitude. I don't know why people work with the general public, if they hate their jobs. Luckily the supervisor was extremely apologetic and even stopped me later that day to see how I was feeling. I told him not to worry, that it was all water under the bridge. Final thought: If they upgrade the rooms a bit, I think I'd return. But for now, I'll look at other hotels with pools. Great Area though.

Yelp
The customer service was outstanding. Smiles from the minute I walked in to when I left. Super friendly sweet welcoming staff. My room was perfect. Great views. Cool functioning AC. No weird smells. I was on the 9th floor. Early check in plus king size bed upgrade. Slept like a princess. Counter was a bit dusty but no biggie bought some disinfectant wipes at the near cvs my usual stop when at a hotel. Spent my birthday in peace. My room, the location served its purpose. Tip: cleaning lady could be a little more considerate when cleaning other rooms by not letting the door slam. Woke me up a couple of times. She was doing her job. Excellent might I add. I'd definitely stay here again when in town.

Yelp
I stayed in this hotel and found the location exceptional. My room was in good shape and appointed well. The bathroom had good light. During my stay there was a big dance party on one floor and of course the rooftop bar was getting a lot of visitors. Being on a lower flor, these events didn't bother me beyond the elevator. The big dance party was quite loud, but that was a one-day event during a multi-day stay. This is convenient to the train and there's so much within walking distance. I'm not sure I'd stay here again, though, just because a higher floor may mean a lot of unpleasant noise, and the chance of that isn't worth the expense.

Yelp
I'll start with the positives: good location. Now the experience: poor. One of my friends hurt their foot while hanging clothes into the room closet as there was a metal door stopper about 2in tall right in front of the closet. We had to wrap her toes together and suspected she may have fractured her toe. Management compensated about 1/10 of the total stay cost which in my opinion is abysmal. When discussing with the hotel manager's boss, he stated that the amount was the maximum compensation allowed and that Indigo Hotel would rather us pursue the legal route through Corporate than "insult" us by compensating a full night's stay. We couldn't even wrap our heads around that ridiculous statement as we were never considering legal action until that was suggested by the manager's boss. The security and bag handling workers are also very rude and aggressive. The bar is also ridiculously overpriced even for NYC standards. 3x tequila shots and 1x margarita was $100 before tipping. Overall, terrible stay and highly recommend staying anywhere else in SoHo.

Yelp
I rarely leave reviews this low, but this is absolutely warranted. I read some reviews prior to coming, but I was hopeful that our experience would be different. My friend booked a double queen room for a weekend. She checked in and was blown away at how awful one of the front desk employees were to her. This place charges a resort fee. For what exactly?! When she asked for some bottled water, this same employee said they didn't have any and that she could check the mini bar or go to a water fountain. Wow! This hotel is located on a super busy street in an area that felt very unsafe! The elevator is dark and hard to see where to press your floor number. The room felt updated and dingy. Nothing resort like or relaxing. Forget trying to actually get sleep here. I didn't get much sleep. It's loud from the club/lounge upstairs in the 15th floor. We were on the fifth floor. The room had a musty odor. Our interaction with other employees was decent. One particular employee, Tyberius, was very helpful. Kudos to him for his service. When I asked for water, he immediately went and got us two bottles. So now they have water, apparently. I would never stay here again. It was overpriced and just not worth it!! I do NOT recommend!

Yelp
I'm not sure why this hotel has such bad reviews. We stayed in two different rooms and never had any issue with the noise from the club / bar, Mr Purple, on the 15th floor. (Tho we did get back late every night, so that may have had something to do with it?) 1 King Bed Premium City View High Floor - Room 1212 This room had an awesome view! Tho I believe the hotel is 24 floors? So not sure why this room class was only halfway up the hotel. (I would have assumed a higher floor meant at least above 15?) My friend did book this thru a third party and he requested a room away from the club due the reviews about noise, so that may have had something to do with it. The room itself was basic, but this is a boutique hotel, so I wasn't expecting a bunch of amenities considering the price point. The room was actually pretty spacious for a NYC hotel. 2 Queen Beds Standard City View - Room 506 This room unfortunately had no view. (Well if you count what looked like someone's backyard, then that was the view.) I didn't stay with my friends the first night, but I did the second night so we requested a room with two beds. They happily moved us for an extra $25. This room was fine as well. Basically the same as the other room but could sleep the three of us. Both rooms had coffee makers and paper cups which was useful. A very cute boutique hotel. And in a great location. Katz is right down the street!

Yelp
Large rooms by NYC standards. And being steps from Katz's (stepping out of the lobby every morning to the smells of pastrami was glorious) and Russ and daughters was a foodies dream. Also very close to our favorite breakfast spot veselka. Metro is close and the hotel bar is way above your normal hotel bar average. Our 505 room's only shortcomings was proximity to the elevator and lack of view. Something easily overlooked by us. Couldn't recommend this place enough.

Irena N.

Yelp
really nice, clean bath/bedroom with an exceptional view of lower East side. location is perfect for walking to dispensary, liquor stores, subway, and fine dining. Veselka or Russ & Daughters for brunch and Taverna De Bacco for dinner. however, do not stay here during the weekend as the Mr. Purple 2 story/rooftop bars will create such loud bass music for dancing until 3-4am, unless dancing all night is the reason you've booked your room here. The walls in our room literally shook us out of two nights sleep.
google avatar

Cornell R.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU ARE ABOVE FLOOR 3. For some stupid reason this hotel has a club in it on floor 14 and the bass will rattle your entire room until 4am. This hotel prioritizes clubbing over their guests sleeping. The staff put my family which they saw included a child on the 12th floor. There was no warning or anything about the level of noise. I was down at 3:30am complaining and got a measly 25% off my bill. Which is still paying too much to stay at a hotel that you can't sleep in. I might as well have put my bags in a locker and paid someone to dribble a basketball on my face for 5 hours. It would have been cheaper and at least I'd know what I was getting myself into. Shame on Rotem Rosen and the entire Gerber/Group for having the incredibly stupid idea of putting a club in a hotel. I will never stay here again and neither should YOU! Tiberius seemed helpful. Hey AJ Tahirovic, director of front office, maybe direct your employees to alert the clientele to the club on floor 14 before they check in.

Yelp
this was my bad for not doing more research. Great place if you're still young and love to party and want to be in the center of it all. Not great if you want a nice quiet place to stay. There's a bar/club here and even 6-7 floors away from the bar/club we heard the bass bumping through our corner room walls. We could also hear people on the patio/balcony of the bar/club shouting out. Boutique hotel, trendy and for hip young people with energy. Skip if you want a nice quiet and comfortable stay. Great location otherwise Staff seem over it and kinda rude, maybe to add to the hip trendy vibe?

Yelp
This review is for the rooftop bar only. I've been here twice for end of year work parties. I enjoy the space, the drinks and food haven been good and service was prompt and attentive. Both the bar and the outside space are very nice and accommodate a nice group of people. The food is very good, the sliders are delicious! We paid for open bar and they kept the drinks flowing. The margaritas were yummy! They were very accommodating when some errors were made and made up for it. Overall we've had a great time here. Shout out to Willie and the crew!

Yelp
Surly and often pompus staff, but a great day manager who was the only employee with a client focus. Noisy and super tiny room with very loud hallway arguments all hours of the night. See the pictures as absolute proof. Filthy wooden floor, no light on the sunken in desk, filthy rug, dirty curtain, broken window mechanism that I reported and was not fixed and $10 room service cup of coffee as you see it -- pathetic at best. The "Resort Fee" which is net $41 a day is cruel and nasty joke on the paying clients. It forces you to buy overpriced coffee and mini-bar items or the fee is essentially gone and useless. Insult to injury. No cafe, no gym facilities, room service is handled by a different company and the hotel acts like its your problem dealing with them, again with the singular exception of the day manager. She was special. How she can tolerate her surly staff and generally nasty room 925 is totally and completely beyond me. And to be even handed and fair in this otherwise trash review, the bathroom was beautiful, cheerfully decorated and the only joy in my otherwise miserable overpriced stay. Finally, the location is near perfect.

Yelp
This hotel was a bit disappointing for the price of the room. We stayed in the King Bed Suite Freedom Tower View. This suite is surprisingly roomy for a NYC hotel suite. It also has a huge terrace with an amazing view of the city. The bed was also so comfortable, one of the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept in. The room itself felt like it needed a refresh. The paint on the wall was chipping, the floor was all scratched up and the rug was discolored. We also have multiple broken items in the room, including the bedroom pocket door, multiple windows, and the mini fridge. Our room was also above the rooftop bar, and the music could be easily heard in the room. For over $1800 a night, I would have wanted a little bit nicer of a room. The hotel is located in a good area, if you are wanting to explore lower Manhattan. There is plenty of food within a quick walking distance. There are also two subway stops a couple blocks away. The hotel also has a nice rooftop bar. It also has a lobby on the 14th floor that is being worked on.

Robert E.

Yelp
1. Despite advertising the rooftop pool, it was closed - how long? For the foreseeable future we were told. Would have picked another hotel if had known that. 2. The "breakfast" was a rip-off; tiny McDonald's style egg breakfast sandwiches... and if, heaven forbid, you got a cappuccino with that the pre-paid breakfast voucher, you had to pay extra. If had known, would have skipped entirely and caught breakfast at any of the many good eateries within walking distance. 3. There were more than once empties beer or champagne bottles on the floor of the elevators... guess remnants of those who visited the roof top night club. 4. When I asked the front desk to call me a cab on a Saturday morning I was informed "We don't do that - unless you request a private car reserved ahead of time." I've been at upscale hotels all over the world and this is the very first time any hotel has refused to call a cab for me. Suffice to say, it bespeaks of the experience of anyone unfortunate enough to spend any time at this hotel. For me, never again!!!!

Yelp
Booked this stay for my grown kids to celebrate my son's birthday. LOCATION: LORI side away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square. If you've done the Rockefeller tree and Holiday windows before, might be time to head down and take in Washington Square, Park, which has a beautiful tree of its own minus the crowds. The hotel is next-door to Katz' deli- another iconic New York City experience, and is nicely appointed for the 25 to 35-year-old set. THE ARRIVAL EXPERIENCE: I called in advance to let the staff know that my daughters would be checking in instead of me. They verified all my information, and that a government ID would be required, which is normal, and had notes in the system so everything went smoothly upon arrival. My status on IHG earned me a very nice upgrade to a corner guest room on a high floor with floor to ceiling corner windows overlooking several bridges. ( see the photo ). My son met up with them, and they had drinks and appetizers at Mr. Purple restaurant on the penthouse level. I'll be posting more about that later. The only loss of the star is because it does take a very long time to get anyone to answer the phone. I'm gonna chalk that up to the holiday season, so this may also change but value for the money, downtown location with lovely views, really adds up to a solid 3 1/2 to 4 stars.

Yelp
This is my honest opinion about my stay with Hotel Indigo Lower East Side: I booked through AMEX Travel Aug 15-16, 2024 using points and Expedia for August 16-20, 2024 as a travel package. 1. The price is reasonable I booked for 6 days, 5 nights and spent in total $1,419.72 with tax for 2 people. The price includes a plane ticket; LAX to EWR. 2. Spacious rooms, compared to other NYC hotels. 3. The floors of our room was so dirty. 4. Katz Deli in the corner. A lot of restaurants in the area. CVS and Whole foods nearby. The area is more local neighborhood which is great cause it's less busy. 5. Train stations are couple of blocks away, i'd say about 5-10 minutes walk. 6. Mr Purple is in the building so easy access if you're a guests at the hotel. Great views! 7. Our room is a Queen room in the 20th floor it seems like a standard room when I booked a Premium. I requested for a Manhattan view, I got a Brooklyn View not bad but was expecting the "City View" I booked to be Manhattan. 8. Gladly we were at the 20th floor because at the 15th floor is the Mr Purple. One time we were at the elevator with this older couple I believe they went off at 12th or 18th floor which had a crazy vibration from the music at the 15th floor. I felt so bad for them. 9. Elevators was slow because it kept stopping at 15th floor. 10. Front desk can't be bother especially this girl who was there that can't even take off her eyes from her phone. 11. If you're planning on staying here to relax, this is not the hotel for you unless they put you on the 20th floor and above. I'm just happy that one of your staff, Donald from Front Desk, did his best to accommodate us and your housekeeping crew are very nice, always greats us. I grew up in the hospitality business and always have the passion for hotel and restaurant management. I'm not a critic but I know the common values of hotel operations. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and this is the first time I've experienced disappointment with its hospitality. They don't offer hospitality here as a team. They don't know how to properly accommodate guests. I wouldn't recommend staying here if you know the real hospitality of IHG Hotels.

Yelp
This is not a hotel as most people would use the word, but a thumping late night disco where drunk people roam the halls and shout drunk people things to each other before disappearing behind poorly insulated doors that slam shut with the appallingly thunderous authority that confirms you are, in fact, in hell. This is not a metaphor for hell; it is the real deal. You are confronted with the realization that you have committed untold ghastly sins in your lifetime and now it is time to pay. This is no one's fault but your own. You should have paid more attention to your far less than saintly conduct while you were in the physical world. Remember when it was snowing and that homeless guy asked you for a buck so he could stay in a shelter that night and you said, "sorry, we're living in a cashless society"? Yeah, that guy was Jesus and he wasn't as impressed with your snarky wit as you seem to have been, so enjoy the music pounding through the floor and through your pillow and into your skull keeping you awake until 4AM. Or you can just blame yourself for not reading the reviews beforehand, which mostly say what a living hell this place is and should be avoided at all costs. You'll have plenty of time to contemplate your sins while you idle away the late night/early morning hours wondering why you don't travel with an ample supply of Ambien. Other than that, it's in a good neighborhood for coffee and delis. Yes, now you can get good coffee and a pastrami sandwich in Hell. Or hell adjacent, in this case.

Yelp
This hotel was beautiful and the view was amazing. We stayed on the 21st floor and it had a huge balcony to chill out on. We had a living room that's separated from the bedroom as well. We checked out the bar on the 15th floor which was jumping. The DJ was playing some great music and the drinks were on point. I would have stayed there if I didn't already have an event to attend. The bar is called Mr Purple which is separate from the hotel so it's open to the public.

Yelp
The staff is nice! The lobby and rooms are clean and smell nice. The location is super convenient but the Wifi is trash! We couldn't get any work done and my boyfriend was there on business. The gal we called at the front wasn't very helpful to get us logged in but hey it is what it is.

Lala T.

Yelp
The first night we stayed on the fifth floor. This building has excellent acoustics. We could hear the street and the night club as if they were right outside the window! Amazing! The second night we asked for different room. We were moved to the 4th floor with a room facing the inner yard. This time the elevators were a problem. Lying in bed listening to them was kind of like counting sheep with some algebraic functions. If one elevator travels at 24 floors per minute and a half, carrying four drunkish 23-year-olds to the nightclub on the 15th floor, calculate how many decibels of noise four elevators traveling the same speed and staggered at 30 second intervals will make. Don't forget to include the sound of the elevators that are descending after a 17 second stop to deliver their cargo, and write your answers as the sum of noise accrued by elevator rides occurring between 10pm and 6am. I can't figure it out. That might be because I am so sleep deprived.

Yelp
Wow, what a great experience! Let me start by saying that we stayed in this hotel for 3 plus weeks with some breaks in between. I loved staying at The Indigo Lower East Side. The staff was amazing. I was in a wheelchair, and they were so respectful and accommodating, while treating me the same as everyone else. The hotel room was easy to navigate too. The staff treat you equally whether you are in a basic room or a presidential suite. I requested a few items I forgot or needed, and they sent them to the room right away like I was their most important guest. The staff (I really need to put names, but I am so bad at remembering them), but really everyone from the doorman, concierge, front desk, cleaning, and AJ the manager was top notch and friendly at all times. There was always a smile and a greeting when you entered the door. The hotel is beautiful and kept clean. There was always an elevator available. The view from the top was a bonus also. Great location. I did not experience any noise issues. I will pick this hotel again and again while visiting NYC. It felt like a home away from home in a such a big city. Thanks again for making our visit in NYC!

Yelp
Disaster hotel ! At least a homeless shelter is quiet. I've never had such a miserable sleepless night as my night at Hotel indigo lower Eastside. There is a disgusting nightclub on the roof that literally pounds the music till four in the morning. And on top of it the hotel is falling apart piece by piece. IHG should strip this dump of the Indigo monicker. The neighborhood is the only thing this abysmal place has going for it. And when I was promised a refund of some of my points by IHG, they started playing dumb and acting like I wasn't owed any.

Yelp
The beds were super comfortable, and the sheets were even softer with spacious rooms, extra-large walk-in showers with rain head above and high-pressure movable nozzles along with a deep sink (so you most likely won't splash yourself). They give you complementary water bottles upon arrival and also have a water filling station in the gym, which is nice too. The rooftop bar & restaurant/lounge, and nightclub on the 15th is a lot of fun with great music and good service. If you don't like the late night noise, I recommend trying to stay on a floor five or more floors away from the 15th, as we were only three floors away and could really hear the nightclub pumping dance beats, especially on Friday and Saturday night until around 4 AM. Wednesday and Thursday night were a bit quieter. The lower Eastside neighborhood felt very safe with a lot of great food options nearby (Katz's deli has the best pastrami sandwiches and is basically next-door). Oh and the new restaurant, Pardon Me, is fantastic with great service and even better food. We look forward to returning to all of these places in the near future.

Yelp
The room was pretty nice, but if a good night sleep is what you want, this is not the place. We were visiting our daughter, so this location was great for us. They put us on the 11th floor. The 15th floor is a very very loud party bar. We couldn't sleep and so I called the front desk to ask when the noise would end. He told me 2:00 am. That was a Friday. He told me Saturday would go on until 4:00. He insinuated it was my fault for not knowing they had a loud bar that goes on all night. My husband went down to the front desk and told them we wanted a new room. He said they didn't have any. My husband then said he wanted the general manager's phone number. Then they miraculously found us a room. So at 12:30 am we packed everything up and moved to a 4th floor room. We couldn't hear the thumping base noise anymore, but the street noise was awful. Ear plugs helped with the street noise. They were useless with the party noise base thumping. Having to move in the middle of the night is just unacceptable for the price they charge.

Yelp
***BEWARE*** of this place if you have any interest in sleeping. This was the loudest place I've ever stayed at. Bar music, yelling, screaming, walls thumping from the club on the 15th floor, sounds from the street, etc. I finally could fall asleep after around 4 AM. Do not ignore the reviews about the noise if you're looking into staying here...I will say it was fairly clean, which is a perk.

Yelp
My colleague was heading to NYC for a conference and told me they were staying at the Hotel Indigo and needed some swag for an event they were hosting. So I google Hotel Indigo and call to ask if I can ship my items there. They tell me yes, and confirm the mailing address and how to address the package Hotel Indigo/Guest Name. I did so. I sent the packages out and they were delivered on Saturday. I learn from my colleague that she was staying at another Hotel Indigo 50 Trinity (OOPS) but it is not far from there and she would walk to the hotel to get them. Shouldn't be an issue, they SHOULD have held onto the boxes, yeah? I have done this numerous times in my life for other companies and myself and my dad when he traveled, I had to ship him his credit card and he got it safely! She went the next day after they were delivered... Sunday and was informed that they did not receive any packages??? I have been calling every day since and asking for a manager. I keep talking to the same person over and over, repeating my story. Big issue here, no one can get hold of anyone at the front desk or concierge. EVER... I have called numerous times and never reach either, and twice now was transfered to a person in the back office. She is in the same dang building but not near the front desk. I am informed that because my employee was not staying at that location "it would be considered lost and found". So I ask, "okay, where is your lost and found?" I am again put on hold. Today is my 3rd day calling about the packages, hoping they'll show up, maybe the receptionist who took them has clocked in, however I cannot get through to reception. I am on hold while they figure out what they do with their "lost and found". It sounds to me like they thought it would be a free for all, they saw the word "Swag" on my box and thought they'd open it and keep the stuff inside. I hope they were disappointed, it was nothing major, we're a non profit magazine, so they got a bunch of magazines and some reusable shopping bags and bamboo utensils. Maria in the back office did all she could, she put me on hold numerous times calling the front desk and getting no where. Poor thing she probably deals with their messes all the time. To me, this shows me that the front desk of this hotel chain lacks in training and proceedures and is dishonest as well. If you stay here, do so at your own risk, always keep your purse, wallet and bags close on you (I mean you are in NY so that goes without saying). But if you're from a company or organization and or just need to send something ahead of time beware. I also cannot imagine, if I am a guest and cannot get front desk or concierge on the phone? horrible service if you ask me. negative stars if I could

Yelp
Flight was cancelled so stayed here for 1 night. If you are going to NY as a tourist and want to have a good time, perhaps this hotel will suite your preferences. For me, I was looking for a place to get a good night's sleep and that didn't happen. The room had wood floors and the noises echoed inside and out. The room felt pretty dark and cold. There's no mini-fridge as it's already stocked with drinks and food for purchase. The worst part was there was a constant noise similar to that of someone shutting a door non-stop. I called front desk and they said they would check it out but it didn't stop. I came to the conclusion that it was either the maintenance room next to me or the elevator making that noise. It was annoying and disrupted my sleep. There's also a bar on the top floor that was pretty packed on a Monday night with a younger crowd so you may have to deal with residuals of that.

Yelp
OK place to stay if you want to be in a clean hotel room in a convenient area at a decent price. Amenity fee per day is actually insane because there are little to no amenities provided. You get a $10 minibar credit (used to be $20 which makes the amenity fee even more absurd) but everything in the minibar is $8+ and you are not provided water for the in-room Keurig. The common concern in the reviews seems to be the noise, which I was worried about. I requested a low level floor and they honored my request. The music is not disturbing or even noticeable from the 5th floor and below, so would highly suggest requesting a room on a lower floor if you are a family or just want to be able to get some sleep and are sensitive to noise. I do not think I would stay here again personally unless I had to -- there are way too many extra hidden fees. The minibar is extremely sensitive and they tried to charge me at check out for expensive drinks that I did not consume. However, my room was always clean and I felt safe here, so I think it is okay for a no-frills hotel stay in the area.

Yelp
For what we were paying--a lot--we got a mediocre room with scuffed, dated, dorm-room-type furniture and threadbare linens. The public areas are shabby, and the staff seem to go out of their way not to acknowledge you as you enter and exit. And our room was desperately in need of soundproofing.

Yelp
Honestly great experience! I was a little worried about the noise after reading reviews but we couldn't hear anything from the club at all. We were on the 23rd floor though ( I think the club was 15). All the interactions with the staff were positive and helpful. Great location and I would stay here again.

Yelp
Jose Ramirez This front manager at this hotel was extremely impatient and rude to me when I asked to extend my stay. He told me I would have to come back in the morning to book it and when I asked if can check availability he simply brushed off my question and told me no they are sold out. I asked if you know it's sold out why did you tell me to come back in the morning to book the room. And he just said there's nothing he can do because it's sold out. Frustrated with the situation from a long day of work, I went back up to my room and decided to check the availabilities on their website, sure enough there was 15 rooms available for the days I requested. Posting screen shot of date available on their website.

Yelp
Wow. We have a lot to say. More to come (with specifics). Be aware before staying here. We want others to know so they aren't treated in this way. There are so many choices in Manhattan and the LES. With NYC roots and NYC work, this is a big disappointment in terms of IHG properties. Look elsewhere for consistently compassionate, kind, fair, and respectful staff. We are reaching out to corporate about this specific location and those who were so unkind and disrespectful - on many levels. There are certain employees who have been with the company for a while (after doing more research to find out), who seem to be able to act as disrespectful as they wish, with obviously little oversight. They are nice to some, but not so much to others - based on their moods and whatever else their motivation is. When reaching out to corporate, we will also highlight the positive, in all fairness to those employees at the property who actually care. In the meantime, do your homework before choosing this location. We've never experienced anything like this and the treatment altered our trip. Initially, we had thought this would be our LES/downtown go-to place, during our many upcoming trips, But no. Again, more to come... And, be aware. Sadly, the mistreatment we experienced not only made for a challenging business/leisure trip, but affected the good work of those at the property who care. Leisure travelers and business professionals traveling to NYC and considering this property, should know. More to come after we talk to IHG corporate and accurate, detailed information hopefully gets to Jay Caiafa, IHG COO of the Americas. ~Compassionate Travelers

Yelp
stayed here on October 31 Halloween and my experience was great! I did not hear any music although there was some random street noise earlier in the evening from people enjoying the holiday. -it was talking and laughing and playing pool. later on in the evening about nine or 10 PM. It was quiet and I slept well. The room was clean and comfortable. Staff was great. Thanks and I will be returning again next week!

Yelp
HIDDEN $300 amenities charge. Roof top bar Mr. Purple is on the 15th floor which is very noisy till like 1am so if your looking to actually sleep on your trip I don't recommend staying at this spot. Bar is cool and has great views but you don't have to sleep here to enjoy this portion.

Yelp
Among the complaints with this hotel...We chose this property for the pool. Nothing on the website says that the pool is not available to hotel guests on the weekend. When we went to go to the pool, we were told that it would cost $200/person! This was never disclosed and is very deceitful. There is no hot water in the bathroom, only warm water. No microwave in your room or on any designated floor. No on-site cafe for coffee or lounge for relaxing. Parking is $70 any 24 hours. So, add that to your nightly rate if driving. Now the compliments. The pillows and bed were very comfortable. Our King Suite was very large by any standard with a great NYC view. Guest services accommodated all request within 30 minutes. You can request a mini-fridge without issue. We went for a bachelorette party and Mr. Purple nightclub on the top floor ended our night with dancing and skyline views of the city. This hotel is great for party weekends and large groups. You are close to many restaurants and cafes and the hospitality is 5 stars

Yelp
Absolutely would not stay again. To keep it short there is excessive noise from the rooftop bar, rooms are falling apart, and surrounding area is a mess.

Yelp
I stayed on the 9th floor on a Sunday night. The rhythmic thumping of low bass sounds coming from the 15th floor club could be heard until 2:00 AM. Note to ownership, close the disco!

Yelp
Extremely rude and unaccommodating staff. Rooms have just the bare minimum. Honestly not worth it for the price point.

Yelp
Avoid like the plague. Associated Club Purple on the property plays music at full volume several nights a week until up to 4AM. Hotel management throws up their hands and says ISG won't let them do something about it. So I will.

Yelp
No sleep at the Hotel Indigo!!! It's a chic, hip hotel but if your traveling on business it's not for you. I booked two nights and although the beds are comfortable the noise from the surrounding bars both internal and external will keep you awake. Additionally the shower was not working well and when I asked to have it fixed it was never done. And one last note, don't take anything from the mini bar on the day you checkout. The credit is only good for the nights your staying. All in all, unless you enjoy the party scene, including the smell of weed everywhere I'd skip this one!

Yelp
Beautiful hotel centrally located in Lower East side. Close to lots of restaurants and walking distance to all the shops in Soho. Mr. Purple, rooftop bar is located on the 15th floor. Beautiful views of NYC skyline. Service was prompt, friendly and helpful during my stay.

Yelp
This review is based on my stay in Room 729. This was in really bad condition , dusty and torn curtains, broken furniture, and to top it off we found condoms input room , we had requested tow beds and when it was brought during checkin , I was completely dismissed by unfriendly staff. For the price this hotel lacks decent amenities. 2 stars for the rooftop bar. Won't be coming back

Yelp
I would have to say that I Hate this hotel. It continuously makes life more difficult. It's full of hidden fees. The staff is terrible no one is responsible for anything and passes the ball along from one person to another. There is never anyone to answer the phones at the front desk they lines to speak to anyone are endless. The air con doesn't work the windows don't open there is no one to fill the mini bar that they pre-charge you for so you're forced to pay daily for a service they don't provide. No doubt we're not the first to complain about this.

Yelp
Where do I start? A complete nightmarish experience. - Had booked a premium room with view, got "upgraded" to a bigger room that was unfortunately right on top of their very loud rooftop bar. We are new parents looking for rest and did not sign up to hear nightclub music all night long. We had arranged expensive childcare to rest but ended up spending the night calling the concierge to change room and trying to fix the situation. The hotel was full though so we had to book a whole other hotel last minute because we couldn't take the noise. What was supposed to be our one relaxing night ended up being completely stressful. - The staff was unhelpful, making us feel like we were crazy for requesting a quiet room. "It will only go until 2am". Only 2am?? Wow in that case... Total clowns and tonedeaf manager (no pun intended). - When we left, they told us they had arranged a refund (we were only there for a couple of hours), but looking at my bank account I actually realized that they charged us TWICE instead of issuing the refund. So now I have to call back those clowns to fix that situation. If you're looking for a quiet room with caring staff and a seamless experience... Don't walk. RUN.

Yelp
Staff members and service desk were pleasant. However, the issue lies in the rooms itself. Went to bed late at night and found signs of bedbug poop, stains, etc on the headboard. Eventually found a bedbug crawling by my head before I went to sleep. I called the front desk and they were very accommodating but it was inconvenient having to pack all my belongings around 1am after a long day just to move rooms. Despite moving rooms I woke up the next day covered in bed bug bites all over my back, hips, and arms. Went home and had to laundry all my belongings just in case. Would not recommend staying here due to a bed bug infestation. If I moved rooms and still managed to have bed bug bites who knows how many of their rooms are infested.

Yelp
STAY AWAY IF YOU VALUE SLEEP AND SERVICE. Floor 15 has a bar which plays music until late and floor 14 has a club that plays music until early hours. Front desk staff do not care about it. When returning after a meal out Club guests are given priority in the elevator rather than residents. Extortionate "amenity" charge for amenities that do not exist. Rudest staff In Manhattan. unfortunately a zero star is not allowed.

Karl G.

Yelp
stayed several times in NYC, not had a bad experience until now. staff are rude, ignored booking notes for a twin room then tried to charge for a roll away bed because of their cock up. Management said they were doing us a favour. noise from bar and lifts meant a crappy sleep if you can call it that! Hidden amenities tax that wasn't advised on checking in! shocked to see so many other reviews all saying the same thing!

Yelp
Good location to explore lower Manhattan and many good eateries nearby. Checkin & check out was without issue. Not much of a lobby. Typical of NYC rooms, rooms were small but has a comfortable bed and big windows for lots of light. Room was clean and had no issues with that. Didn't have time to use pool or exercise facilities Located -1/2 block south of Katz's delicatessen (went twice!) -just south of the Ukrainian Village -less than 1mile walking distance to Little Italy and Chinatown

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel on a Friday and Saturday night for business February 28-March 2, 20025. I have worked for an alcohol company for 25 years so no stranger to bars and restaurants but this experience goes down as the worst in my career of traveling. I was put on the 12th floor and the club is on the 14th floor (assuming no 13th) and in a room underneath the club. I could handle music until midnight and maybe even 1 am but 4 am is unacceptable. Furthermore, you should be warned if this when you check in if placed that closed to this club. They moved me for night 2 (front desk person I called at 3:34 AM March 1 was friendly). I went to front desk the next morning around 9 and explained they were changing room and the man working desk was beyond rude. Second night I was on the 9th floor. Could still hear music but faint. Was fine until at 2 AM, a man banged on my door incessantly until I finally opened to say you have wrong room. He went next door or across hall (Didn't open door back up) and he proceeds to bang on that door until arguing ensued and then I guess another guest went out said stop or called downstairs, I'm unsure. If I would have my mom with me, she literally would have had a heart attack. So scary. I have audio recordings as both nights were obnoxious. I'm having his hotel removed from our company's concur site and calling our account director for IHG as this is unacceptable for any guest. I have very tough skin but the second night incident on top of no sleep the first night has been truly traumatizing.
