Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York, an IHG Hotel

The hotel concept is very nice and the location is excellent. The style is a bit industrial, but relatively refined and well done, but you have to pay attention to a couple of details.|First of all, the cleaning of the rooms is rather rough. The windows have double glazing, but the glass is nailed and does not open and apparently it has not been insulated well and in the cavity you can see dirt and dead insects. The shower window was a bit disgusting.|And you have to be aware that in the bar at the rooftop they have parties continuously with very loud music. I felt like I was taking part in the party even from my room on the seventh floor and the music goes on all night.|Terrible breakfast, but opposite there is a small bar where they serve excellent coffee and good pastries at a much lower price.

We enjoyed the location, the room size, the staff was great, and the bed was very comfortable, but getting to sleep before 1 a.m. was difficult. We got put on the 16th floor not knowing the bar/club was on the 15th floor. We were there from a Friday through Tuesday. The first night was a private party and it went well beyond 1 am. They were loud and I understand it's a party season this time of year. It rocked our room well into the late night. We called the front desk but what are they supposed to do? I think they shut the DJ down around 2 am. The other nights seemed to wind down around 1 am. I think they send people down a floor to the 14th floor for more late-night fun after that. Given it was December, there was no one outside on the deck but this would have been even worse. I did close the bathroom door to help a bit, but only a little. If you like to get to bed before 1 am or even 2 am, this is not the floor for you. Perhaps I got this floor because we got the room through Costco Travel for just under $700 a night! Slightly less than going direct. NYC is expensive in December for sure!

Beautiful Hotel, but the Breakfast is a Disaster The hotel itself is lovely, and most of the staff are friendly and welcoming. However, the breakfast experience was truly disappointing. Instead of a proper breakfast service, you’re given a $15 voucher to use at the rooftop bar, which operates as the breakfast area in the morning. The setup feels more like a coffee shop than a 4-star hotel restaurant. You have to queue for a single barista and awkwardly calculate how to get the best value for your voucher. The food options are shockingly limited—by far the most underwhelming selection I’ve encountered at a hotel of this category. (Check the photo for reference: that’s the breakfast.) To make matters worse, there are no refills for anything. Once you’re done, that’s it. For a hotel of this standard, the breakfast falls embarrassingly short, but the staff was once again cool about this and agreed to cancel the breakfast from our initial booking.

I just finished a 5 day, 4 night trip this afternoon and I can say that I would not be staying at this hotel again. First off, I want to start with the positives and say that the staff was incredibly nice and the hotel is absolutely gorgeous and located in a great spot. However, in the hotel description, it was not clear that there was a night club upstairs. I was under the impression that this was a nice restaurant/bar for families. With that being said, the noise was far louder than the average NYC noise. Each night my kids were up 3-4 times complaining of the noise. Also, hotels usually have a small place in the lobby where you can buy drinks/snacks. This hotel had nothing. My husband went to get water and they told him that he could fill water bottles in the weight room area. When it comes to cleanliness, the hotel was good. BUT, I have a 1 year old who needed showers each night and there was noticeable mold in the shower. Bottom line, don't stay if you have kids. You will regret it.

This was my second time in New York, and I had an awesome stay at Hotel Indigo Lower East Side. The hotel had a modern, stylish vibe and was perfectly located for exploring the Lower East Side. The room was comfy, and the atmosphere throughout the hotel was amazing. The only issue I had was that the rooftop bar played loud music well into the night. But because of that, I really want to give a huge shoutout to Donald and the team—Alisha, Ohla, Taarah, Kenny, and Nadie—who went above and beyond to quickly move me to a quieter room, which was even better than the first one. Other than that, my stay was fantastic. The hotel is conveniently located near great shops and restaurants, making it easy to explore the LES. I’ll definitely stay here again when I return to New York!

We travel to NYC as a family quite frequently. Compared to our stays throughout the city (generally midtown and occasionally downtown), the front office team at this hotel is absolutely phenomenal. Everyone we interacted with (mornings on 12/23, 12/24 & 12/26, and evening 12/25) was beyond pleasant, helpful, and just absolutely welcoming. They were all truly brand ambassadors. The hotel itself was clean, generally quiet, and in a perfect location for enjoying SoHo, Little Italy & Chinatown (and really everywhere else, too!). We had a delightful Christmas getaway here, and absolutely will be back.

After seeing the reviews, I emailed and kindly requested a quieter room. The Hotel staff were more than happy to comply, room 725, 724 and 719 was where my party was allocated and we had no issues with noise from the club/bar. The location is great, close to several subway stations which was perfect for exploring the city. I valued the rainfall shower, though the grouting could be redone as there were some signs of mould. The bed was very comfortable, as were the pillows making it a good nights sleep. We also enjoyed the selection of american tv channels available. The front desk staff were nice and very polite, assisted with any query we had. They also kept our baggage for us the day we checked out, and arranged taxi’s to the airport. Overall if you request a quieter room, you won’t be disappointed with your stay.

I asked when it would stop and they said in what you can almost imagine an eye roll to go along with it that the club will be blasting music until 4am. Then he asked if I was packed so they can change my room. This is 1130pm and I was just about to shower. Why would I be packed? I also have a lot of luggage with me from a month of travelling nonstop. Some staff try to be helpful and change your rooms but you can hear the music in most rooms and then they end up downgrading you to a smaller room. There are vents on certain floors where the music travels down to and the vents are open to the floors below, so there is really no escape. When you question it, they make excuses and try to blame the fact that it is the lower east side and it's supposed to be noisy when that has nothing to do with them not soundproofing the hotel in the first place! This is an IHG hotel. There is supposed to be a certain standard maintained. They also blame the fact that it says that the hotel has a bar and a club in it and that it's already warned in the booking. They do not warn again nor do they take the time to think that your booking overlaps with a weekend so they should put you in a quieter room. Having a bar or club in the hotel room also should not be an excuse for the noise. I travel at least once or twice a month for work over weekdays and weekends and have stayed in numerous hotels with bars and clubs in the hotel and the noise does not travel to the rooms no matter how loud the club is! As I see other comments to this hotel, I understand other people's frustration with the same thing I am going through now. Service in this city is truly lacking.
