"Hacienda Los Laureles From outside the compound-like walls of Hacienda Los Laureles, it's hard to imagine what a beautiful, peaceful experience awaits inside. When the doors open, guests step onto a large, lush lawn that’s kept green by a sophisticated graywater recycling system. The oversized rooms of the hacienda are dotted around the lawn's periphery, and visitors are greeted with special touches, including decorations that use the property's natural assets, like colorful bougainvillea flowers. Even when the hotel is at high occupancy, Hacienda Los Laureles feels private and relaxed."
No basic service provided despite the premium prices for the room. Went to the restaurant to order drinks but they refused to take order. They provided coupon for the free drinks which we couldn't redeem stating they are short staffed. But if we were willing to pay for the drinks they were accepting orders. Coupon was a scam. Upon bringing this issue to the manager on duty, she stated she couldn't help us and was rude. Last time staying in this property.

We love this hotel and found it to be a sweet oasis. It was our first time celebrating Dia de Muertos in Oaxaca. It was ideal to be just a quick cab ride to downtown/centro. The hotel staff was incredibly gracious. They brought complimentary welcome cocktails to our room which was greatly appreciated after our long flight. Samantha was a highlight for us. She was generous with her time, making sure we had everything we needed answering questions and providing guidance. The restaurant staff was an absolute pleasure and Lordas, the masseuse provided a great experience. We can't wait to go back next year!

Multiple issues faced with this property during our NYE 2026 stay for 3 nights for which we paid 1470 USD-
- we were falsely told that pool is heated’, only to find later that it is solar powered which is lagging and was extremely cold (also confirmed by other guests)
- their front desk lady (cant remember her name) was extremely rude and unprofessional as she did not accommodate what the hotel had offered us and rather bluntly ignored our genuine minor request (such as ordering drinks ). Their other front desk person Octavio was nice and professional but never actually bothered to improve our stay.
- Octavio acknowledged that this is a 5 star property and some basic amenities are expected such as 24/7 front desk service or basic vending or coffee in the room. But all these facilities were lacking and we there arose a medical emergency one night where no hotel authorities were available in the late evening /night to aid. One of the guests had diabetes and due to their lack of restaurant and basic service such as tea/coffee in room with sugar, the person had to be taken to the hospital and neighbours had to be disturbed.
- Octavio stated that he shall address such genuine reasons to his higher boses but our stay was horrendous.
- this is also in comparison with other haciendas we stayed during our trip where everything was bellisimo.
Please avoid this ‘fake hacienda’ and go to Fiesta Americana as they provide much more professional service.

We are a family of 4 adults and spent 3 nights at this hotel. The property is beautifully located a bit outside of the city centre of Oaxaca. It has a wonderful garden and a small pool. We enjoyed tasteful breakfast outside. WiFi in our room was weak and could be improved.

What a great place to hold a weeklong conference! The facility is beautiful, the food and service are excellent, and the staff is very friendly. The hotel is close to downtown—you can either call a cab (about $5) or take the bus right in front of the entrance. Be sure to enjoy the beautiful garden!

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous - an incredible garden and lovely pool but the rooms are a bit tired looking and not as plush as in the photos - there was no coffee or tea in the room, the restaurant was fine in the morning but not great for dinner and in general there weren’t many staff around. Having said that, taxis into town were quick and it was amazing having it as an oasis to come back to after being in the center.

We came here for our honeymoon, the staff were excellent and attentive. The taxi was a short taxi ride (roughly 100 pesos / £5 / $6). Which was really worth it for such a beautiful hotel and gardens, including the pool area.
The hotel kindly upgraded us for our honeymoon and left us a bottle of bubbly and petals on the bed ready for our arrival.
We also got a very relaxing massage each during our stay, which cost around £40 each.
5* would definitely recommend.

The hotel is about 20 min outside the city Center. The rooms are clean but not very attractive. The breakfast in the garden restaurant was great. Staff is very nice. Personally, next time we are back in Oaxaca we will stay more centrally located.
