Hotel Grand Ferdinand Wien

The rooms are very small without closets, and the cleanliness of the rooms is quite mediocre. They only make the beds but do not clean the room or the bathroom. Additionally, they do not wash the coffee cups or glasses. However, the restaurant and the waiters are excellent. The breakfast is perfect. The location is excellent, as is the hotel’s atmosphere.

Before visiting the hotel, we were skeptical due to the reviews we had read about the place. However, our overall impressions were quite positive. The rooms are spacious, with an interesting interior design, and they are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. It’s true that a faint smell from the restaurants can be noticed in the corridors, but in our room on the fifth floor, there was no such smell, nor could we hear any noise from outside. Perhaps the hotel truly deserves its four-star rating, but our stay was wonderful nonetheless.

I'm surprised this isn't better rated. Our stay (5 adults, 3 rooms, 2 nights with breakfast) was excellent and very good value (booked through Expedia but I don't think we had a special rate). Would recommend this hotel to friends. Breakfast was extremely good, we had dinner on the 8th floor one night and it was great, and we frequented the bar on 8 a couple of times with good service and great drinks. Location is good too. Thumbs up all round

Firstly the hotel is described by booking sites as a 5* hotel, it is not, the first impression of the hotel is very underwhelming, the reception is squeezed into a small lobby, with no seating, I contacted the hotel prior to my visit and informed them I would be travelling with my adult son and daughter, and requested one room with twin beds as I would be sharing the room with my adult son, I was told that I would need to upgrade to a superior room and that an extra bed would be available,at a additional cost of €130 per night (€390 total), the superior room was only slightly larger than my daughters standard room, the extra bed was a fold up bed placed at the end of the double bed, the shower is actually in the room, so no privacy.| The breakfast was ok, the hot food station was right next to a large table, which made it a bit awkward for the guests sitting on that table and for guests wanting to use the hot food. The rooftop pool was not warm enough to use in the winter, so not sure why it was open unless you were very brave. I’ve seen responses from the hotel to other reviews stating that they do not advertise as a 5*, but all booking sites do, so be aware, the hotel is ok as a base, but that’s all. If I visit Vienna again and pay for a top hotel I’ll look elsewhere.

Excellent hotel. Great location. Very comfortable bed & wonderful rooftop terrace bar although breakfast very expensive for what it was. Receptionist Rohan was extremely helpful going out of his way to help. Would definitely stay again.

Firstly the location is fabulous, the concierge staff are so happy and helpful, the bedrooms are lovely & beds comfy, the breakfast was beautiful (could have stayed up there all day watching the view) |The rooftop restaurant (limon) we went in every evening for a night cap, simply perfect! |When we return to Vienna We will certainly be staying here. |There was a lovely gentleman that was visiting England who made our stay extra special with his friendly smile & helpful advice! Unfortunately we never asked his name.|5*

Perfect location. Few minutes walking distances from the main shopping areas. Myself and my boyfriend stayed 3 nights in December. The hotel was gorgeous. Staff were very welcoming. The hotel is really clean. Beautifully decorated. The room was very spacious. We were in room 322. The beds are really comfortable. You have full control of the heating. The shower is in the room but that didn't bother us to much but wouldn't be ideal if you were sharing with family or friends. We had a bedroom to the front of the building, the main road was very quiet at night. Didn't disturb either of our sleep. The bar on the roof top is really nice. Lovely balcony on it which would be amazing in the summer. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on the food. If I am to ever visit Vienna again, I would absolutely stay here again.
