Hotel Grand Ferdinand Wien

Excellent hotel. Very comfortable mattress, lovely duvets. We booked a Superior room, and there was plenty of space, a wardrobe and storage. Stylish design. Lovely big shower, and the toiletries smell great. The shower is within the room, which maybe isn't for everyone if it's friends sharing a room rather than a couple. It is a modern hotel, but it's designed sensitively. Lovely room on the top floor for breakfast, which is really generous. Friendly and helpful reception staff. We felt the hotel was really good value for the level of quality. We plan to return next year.||Two very small things that could have been improved: they ran out of teabags for the rooms! As a Brit I do love tea, I was wishing I'd brought some with me. And I would loved to have wholemeal bread for the toast machine (there was only white), and peanut butter! But that is being very picky. Pretty much everything else you could want for breakfast was there, and the waiting staff were lovely

We had an absolutely wonderful stay! Check-in was a breeze and the reception staff were very friendly. The rooms are spacious enough and had modern decor and lots of storage. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. I love that the rooms are air-conditioned and we had wonderful street views. Lots of power outlets and storage as well. Would happily stay here again on my next trip to Vienna.

I had one of the wider, interior facing rooms. It was light enough with the expansive courtyard, and it was quiet, so that was nice. Yeah, the shower is right next to the bed, but it's not a big deal. You've got to cut a break to these old hotels. I'm sure that long ago the restroom facilities were at least partially shared. That said, a few points are ripe for improvement. I think that a hotel of this calibre (and price range) should have a hot water pot and at least instant coffee service in the room. They sent me up a hot water pot when I asked, but no tea or coffee service is in place. Also, the a/c for the room is almost certainly controlled centrally. You cannot set a temperature. You can only move a dial between cold and hot. Finally, the rooftop pool is tiny and unheated. I guess it's better than nothing, and there are nice views, but there aren't all that many places to lounge, so don't get your hopes up. Staff was generally good, and the room was kept clean. The location is outstanding. A solid 4-star experience.

The rooms were nice and comfy . It just that they should put a film on shower doors, as they were facing the entry door. Now I fail to understand why was I charged 43000inr 700 euro more for initial 2 nights( 2nd to 4th oct)and on return on 6th were charged 15000inr . That s a staggering difference where as 6th Oct was a weekend. Thought that was very unfair. I had booked through agoda and I have mentioned to them as well. And all amenities are on repeated request like kettle, tea, coffee capsules etc.

Location is great - a short walk away from the old town center. Lots of restaurants around. Rooms (we had 2) were well appointed and comfortable. All of the accoutrements of the room were appreciated. Staff were super helpful, booking outings and reserving tables for us proactively. Would stay there again.

I was impressed by the check in on arrival and the hotel room did not disappoint, it was very quirky and comfortable.||The breakfast was served on the top floor and you could eat inside or outside on the lovely terrace overlooking a great view. The breakfast was of a high standard as was the service. It was also a great place to enjoy a chilled out drink during the day and evening.||The hotel is in a great location with easy access to all the main attractions, shops and restaurants and ease of local transport.||There are some great restaurants all within a few minutes walk. which are of a very high standard with quality service.||The front desk staff are very friendly and knowledgeable.||I would highly recommend this hotel and Vienna!

I stayed in a dormitory rather than a hotel. It's very clean and has a luxurious feel, so I'm satisfied. It's located in the city, and even people staying in the dormitory can access the top terrace. Also, the price is reasonable, so I think it's good for students as well.

We couldn't fault the hotel for the standard of the rooms, the super comfortable beds with lovely duvets and the great shower. Staff were really helpful, position really central. One small niggle though was that there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. For someone who needs a caffeine fix first thing in the morning this was a definite negative point. Also be aware that the pool is extremely small and gets very crowded towards the late afternoon. Overall though, a great hotel.
