"The hot-air balloon captains of the Masai Mara see themselves more as sailors than pilots. Despite the fact that they are flying, they guide the balloonthrough the air, adjustingthe pulleys and controlling blasts of hot airlike sailors harnessing thewind withcanvas. The anticipation of takeoffis exhilarating: Guests arriveto an open field in the darkness and lie down on the grass tobehoisted up into the basket, withthe roar of the flames overhead. The ride itself is tranquil and relaxing, drifting through the sky, admiring the balloon's shadow on the golden ground as the sun rises. Rides can be booked in advance while staying at Angama Mara, one of Kenya’s most luxurious lodges."

"Guests spot gazelles and lions along the banks of the Mara River at this 50-tent resort, which was renovated in 2009. Accommodations have Masai colors on the bedspreads and beaded curtains from South Africa in the bathroom area. Meals at the boma, designed to resemble a Masai manyatta, or village, are served both indoors and out."

Staying at this property was more than we ever could have imagined. It was the most memorable and amazing travel experience we have ever had. The staff was absolutely amazing - from check in to housekeeping to the dining and bar staff to those taking care of the grounds, they were all top notch. The food was delicious. Much of it grown in their own organic garden. The game drives were off the charts. Special shout out to Jeremiah who took us out every day. He is so knowledgeable and experienced. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. The “tents” that overlooked the river had every amenity anyone would need during their stay. I highly recommend this property for your safari to the Maasai Mara!

Everything in the camp is excellent. The staff is very kind and attentive. All the tents are on the river bank with great views of the river and the hippos. The tents are well appointed, all the amenities you need and cleaned twice a day. In the restaurant they move the tables to the terrace for breakfast and lunch, inside for dinner, very attentive. Food and drinks are good. The game drives (2 per day) amazing in a wonderfull setting. The airstrip only 10 minutes driving.

We stayed for two days in this place. The entire facility is very beautiful and well maintained. The room was very clean and spacious. The animal orphanage is right next doors and only a short walk from the club. We were able to do soft archery, the maze and the river walk during our stay. The staff is very polite and helpful. We had to contact a doctor while staying in the facility. The front desk was able to quickly connect us with the local doctor. The doctor arrived in relatively short time and provided outstanding service.

The most memorable experience, beautiful modern tents which gives you the experience of living in a tent but with modern amenities inside. My tent was facing the masai river so the sight of hippos lazing in water was amazing. So close to nature and the hospitality of the staff super exceeded all expectations specially Charles. He was just too good. Fairmont Masai and Redford both experience is excellent and if you want to be treated special then this is the place. |The best part they have the reserve so close that we were fortunate to see the lion pride so close in action. Safe & modern with the world best amenities.

The stuff at Fairmont went out of the way to make our stay comfortable. The tents are luxurious with zero mosquitoes and no issues with electricity or hot water. The hotel organizes varied events to keep the guest entertained like a bbq/tribal dances. Absolutely loved the hospitality and in addition to that our amazing game drive at the Masai Mara. Special thanks to William the duty manager, Eldon the room Stuart and Sam the Game driver and the chef all of whom did an incredible job. The staff from the receptionist at welcome to the security guard at farewell were always polite, considerate and very friendly! Customer service on point!

The Fairmont Mara may be the best premium hotel option in Masai Mara for three reasons. Firstly, it has access to its own conservatory, and it means within 5 mins of the lodge, you will start seeing a variety of wildlife. Game drives last 2-3 hrs and that is usually sufficient time to get a good look in. Secondly, here with its own conservatory, the vehicles are able to go off road to get a closer look at the Big 5 and more! And finally, with its location, you would normally be the first stop on the local flight out of Nairobi Wilson airport. ||The facilities and services at the lodge are supreme. The staff are a very strong point. You get one server for meals, one driver from airstrip pick up, and one contact for booking. ||The rooms/ tents are very comfortable with bedding and bathrooms matching up to Fairmont standards. ||The meal quality is good and the chefs are accommodating. Lots of Indian and western option!||A couple of things could be improved. The wifi is only in the main lodge building and whilst I don’t have an issue with it, the wifi is very intermittent and not conducive to business. The other thing is that our guide, whilst knowledgeable, was a bit under par with enthusiasm. Some more excitement would be nice!||That said, I think when we return, we would definitely stay here.

My family and I recently stayed at the Fairmont Mara Safari club. Everybody was cheerful, helpful and outstanding. Our stay was lovely. Our driver for our six day visit was Dominic. He did a fantastic job informing us and taking us to see all the animals. I would highly recommend your stay at the Fairmont Mara Safari club

What an extraordinary experience! The hotel staff, dining, location and the glamorous tents on the river were what dreams are made of. The game drive was amazing and our driver and guide, wonderful. We also had a man from the Maasai Tribe join us in the jeep to act as a spotter. We saw many, many zebras, giraffes, elephants, water buffalo, gnus, antelope, a secretary bird, hyenas, wort hogs, hippos and a crocodile. There is tremendous respect there for the land and animals. I highly recommend this visit.
