Hotel Azul

This is a wonderful hotel and my wife and I very much look forward to returning. The staff are incredibly warm and accommodating, the service was 5-star and the ambience is incredible. We especially enjoyed the secret courtyard and the roof-top bar. The kitchen is also a highlight, we had several breakfasts there the quality of which rivaled any meal we had in this city known for its gastronomy. Highly recommend! Centrally located, easy walk to all of the best restaurants and sites in the old city.

This hotel is a great choice. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The location is close to all great restaurants, shopping, museums and historical places to visit. Very walkable.

A beautiful retrofit made into an elegant hotel. The staff were all so kind. Breakfast was included and beyond our expectations. The rooftop bar is great.

The location is perfect in the center of downtown Oaxaca. Mayra and the personal of the hotel are always attentive to help in anything we need. The decor and design of the historical house is beautiful in all details.

We only stopped for breakfast, the food was great, the restaurant is in a lovely courtyard, service was amazing in a city known for incredible hospitality. We want to come back to Oaxaca and stay here! Shout-out to Chema who was our fantastic server this morning.

Hotel Azul is a amazing property with immaculate attention to detail. All of the suites are designed by local artists, there are free bikes to utilize throughout your stay, there was always bottled water in our room, and the restaurant's food and drinks were fresh and delicious. ||The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming. Every person on-site from the front-desk attendant, general manager, to housekeeping attendant was great! I've never seen a cleaning staff do such a good job on a property before - I came back to my room early one day, and found them mopping the floors, cleaning the toilets with a sponge (inside and outside), and completely scrubbing the sinks and showers. ||HIGHLY recommend when you're in Oaxaca! Hospitality, location, and vibe are completely unmatched. 10/10

Beautiful hotel. Fabulous location, close to Santo Domingo Church, Zocalo plaza, El Llano park, the Cat cafe and the Jalatlaco neighborhood. Worth noting that the WiFi wasn’t great inside the room, I think due to the thick walls of the rooms. We would sit in the hotel restaurant and work from a table. Which was beautiful. Better than sitting in the room. Staff was helpful and attentive.

This was one of the best hotel experiences I could have ever asked for! For starters it is so pretty. The courtyard is chill, the common area in the front where breakfast is served is lovely and the roof is awesome. ||||Our room was great with AC and Wifi, a comfortable bed and beautiful art -- not to mention water that stays hot even after you shower in it for a bit.||||The staff was AMAZING (Ricardo, Orlando, Elizabeth and the whole team). I had food poisoning on Christmas night and the staff couldn't have helped me more. They were extremely attentive and made sure I was back to being 100% by the next day. ||||If we had any questions they answered them right away and were very knowledgeable. They helped us book tours, taxis, cars, and experiences -- while giving us insight into their favorite things to do as well.||||I could not recommend staying here enough. Please say that Samantha and Miles say hi if you book from this review!! We miss them very much already!!

The Hotel Azul has a lovely courtyard and the rooms are dark and quiet. The breakfast offerings include red (coloradito) mole enchiladas and mole verde enchiladas and hot chocolate (in addition to coffee) for breakfast. https://www.hotelazuloaxaca.com/

This place is very nice nice service but you are told not to take put toilet paper in the toilet because they get clogged up so this is ridiculous in a five-star hotel that you can't throw toilet paper in the toilet I would never stay here again especially during Covid for god sake

Worst experience ever! Hotel service was terrible. They decided to have a construction in the middle of the night and and when we approched the manager they invited us to leave the hotel. Yes, they kicked us out in the middle of the night!!!

Beautiful hotel but noisy and with open toilets The hotel is well decorared and its courtyard and terrace are beautiful. Staff attentive and nice Buffet breakfast is so so except for the quesadillas. Some rooms have no windows or windows that open directly to the walkway so bilds have to be kept shut for privacy. Some rooms only have a curtain between the bed and the toilet. Guess it will bring visitors even closer together.

We recently had our wedding here. This hotel is beautiful, the food is as good as any Oaxacan food in town and the staff is amazing. My family and friends from the US were comfortable here and my Mexican family marveled at the hotel and the food. If you want to spend some quality time in Oaxaca this place is an amazing base to explore the town with. The hotel can also arrange excursions to places outside of town such as Mont Alban. Each suite is designed by a different local artist and we enjoyed checking out all of them. If you want to hold a special event such as a wedding, Friederike is the best planner imaginable. She was on top of ensuring everything was handled from the meal to the flowers to the cake, music, photographer and mariachis. We were able to plan everything from the US without any problems. The wedding and the party were amazing! I have nothing negative to say about Hotel Azul!
