Hops Downtown Grill

Amazing food! Their side vegetables are really good, not the usual steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Food came out quickly and was delicious! Service was outstanding! It's a small venue but still very nice and cozy. My only complaint is the bathroom. It needs a deep cleaning. Definitely not a deal breaker though. I will continue to dine here!

Came here for dinner after a loooooong hike. There was about 15-20 min wait time for our party of 2 but the host was very nice ! Super friendly and made the experience awesome. I got the garlic chicken with pilaf, it's definitely very slightly on the pricier side for the food but the rice was cooked great, the chicken was garlicky as expected and overall I liked the meal ! Adding an extra star because of the host :) !

Very good food and service! We really enjoyed our dinner here. It's been one of the best meals we've had in Kalispell.

We had a great dinner!! We quickly learned that Michelle’s recommendations are the best. The Elk Bolognese Lasagna was delicious and very satisfying. The Griddled Meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes was comfort food plus. The bacon tomato jam on the meatloaf made it absolutely addictive. The restaurant is small and feels very friendly.

Conveniently located downtown, Hops is a good choice especially on weekends when options are limited. Inside is a bit small but the staff assisted us in seating a party of 7. I had the elk lasagna and it was quite good. The apricot cider on tap was excellent and the kids enjoyed their Huckleberry sodas. My wife liked her tomato basil soup and pretzel. Others in our party ordered the garlic chicken and they enjoyed it. Staff was very polite and professional. They also have a veteran discount if you qualify. Highly recommended.

We had the same “new” waitress the last two visits. Last month, we sat at the bar and she told us she was new. This recent visit at a table, she stated being new again prior to taking our drink order. Every beer/wine order she seemed confused, which shows she has not taken the time to get to know the menu. When we placed our food orders, our friend ordered the New York steak to be cooked medium rare. Our waitress said he could NOT order it medium rare or choose the cook. My husband asked her about the lasagna and if there’s an option do light cheese on top, instead of their full amount. She went back into the kitchen to ask and came back stating “there is cheese in the lasagna”. Obviously, we know there is cheese in the lasagna. On top of that she tried to take away our 2 appetizers before we finished eating them. My husband and I eat here occasionally and thought this would be a nice place to take our friends who were visiting for the weekend. Unfortunately, we will be giving Hops a very long break and hope we won’t have the same waitress if we return. Her saying continuing to say she’s “new” is an excuse for poor service and laziness.

My friend and I were looking for a place to eat and the first option was fully booked and had an hour long wait up the street. I’m so glad we found Hops downtown grill. I had the huckleberry burger and he had the bacon and Brie burger. It was one of the best burgers. Highly recommend anyone wanting a nice down in experience. The waitress was very nice as well. I look forward to coming back here.

I definitely enjoyed eating here, and I will eat here again. We were seated right away, but at 5:30 on a Friday night, we got lucky. It was dark, noisy, and very close. Our server was friendly and took our drink orders right away. Very professional. She provided a level of service you would expect at fine dining. We started with the calamari, and it was O.K. Planks generally aren't my preference, and it was a little overcooked. I had the burn burger. I really enjoyed the burger but didn't really think it was hot at all. The balance of flavor between the roasted peppers and the farm fresh local beef was perfect. The chipotle coleslaw had a nice kick to it and complimented the burger well. Darlin had the chop steak with the garlic mashed potatoes. The mushroom demiglaze was maybe a little stingy but very good. The garlic mashed potatoes had just the right amount of garlic. To be honest, I could go back again just for salted caramel cheesecake!! It was soooo good 😋 It was a little expensive but worth the price. 2 entrees 2 beers 1 appetizers 1 dessert Generous tip $100 I'll be back 😎👍 Update: The second visit was another fantastic meal. Do yourself a favor and when the huckleberry Buffalo duck wings get to your table DO NOT under any circumstance allow the ranch dressing to touch them. They were amazing just the way the chef made them and probably (at least in my opinion) unimprovable.
