Starting with the best part—our starters were absolutely delicious! They were well-prepared, flavorful, and set high expectations for the rest of the meal. Unfortunately, the mains didn’t quite live up to that standard. They weren’t bad, just a bit underwhelming compared to the fantastic beginning. Thankfully, the meal ended on a high note with a great selection of desserts and drinks. Both were well-crafted and left us satisfied. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making it a pleasant place to dine, and the staff was professional and attentive throughout the evening. While the mains could use some improvement, the excellent starters, desserts, and drinks make Hoppa Bistro worth a visit!

A great spot for a modern take on Hungarian cuisine! The food is beautifully presented and full of flavor, with a nice selection of local wines to pair with it. The service is super friendly, and the whole experience feels both casual and a bit gourmet at the same time. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a twist on traditional flavors!

What an exceptional dinner! Everything was fantastic, and our waiter, David, was the epitome of professionalism. He took such great care of us! As someone with gluten intolerance, I was particularly impressed by how carefully he ensured my experience was flawless, despite my dietary restrictions. I highly recommend this place—great food and outstanding service!

One of the best restaurants in the city. We went on a Friday evening without booking. The dishes were fine dine quality, vibe was super cozy and not pretentious. The beef ribs dish was so tender and packed with flavour. The onion soup was delicious served with warm toasted brioche. Staff were super friendly, professional and gave great personal recommendations on wine pairing. We had 4 dishes and 3 glasses of wine. This may sound very silly but I thought it was such a nice touch when they took our coat at the front and helped us put it on as we left, unlike other restaurants you’d just hang it on the nearest hook. Such detailed service just added to the whole experience. We had a fantastic evening!

Once in a while you wish you could give a sixth star. This is one of those occasions. We had an absolute excellent experience at the Hoppa with fantastic food and the best service. The waiter was very friendly and observant and made this a special evening. We had three courses each trying different dishes sharing taste and tried the suggested wine pairing. It was excellent. I highly recommend this place. They have a few outdoor seating as well and a wide selection of local and international wines as well as drinks.

Incredibly tasty dishes that are beautifully presented but at a reasonable price. The staff are super friendly and helpful, particularly when it comes to pairing wine with the dishes. They also have a good selection of cocktails and we particularly liked the chameleon cocktail. Definitely worth a visit but book ahead as it was busy when we were there on a Monday evening.

Total wow! We found it by accident and what joy it was! Absolutely the best steak tartare of my life (and yes I do keep track!) The delight is in the service and the details and it was followed by several beautiful courses and a perfect local wine... I will include Budapest whenever I can in my travel plans just to have the chance to go back!

Phenomenal experience!! Truly finom. Our server David took great care of us carefully coursing out our meal. We might’ve ordered too much food but had no regrets from the tummy ache later. The classic cottage cheese dessert dumplings were to die for. The onion soup was what I wish every onion soup for the rest of my life would taste like. Cannot recommend this place enough. You won’t be disappointed eating here!!
