As one of the most important coastal cities and ports in the world, Hong Kong's history cannot be divided from its maritime components, and this museum displays it perfectly, encompassing history from the early modern era to modern day. There are a plethora of exhibits to feast your eyes on, from the various models of Eas Asian junks to old cannons used by the Qing to combat pirates, to navigational tools, Ming and Qing-era pottery, a replica of a bulk carrier's control deck, and even a life-sized model of the Keying, a junk which journeyed across New York, London and Hong Kong in the 1840s. That is just the tip of the iceberg of what you can see and learn about in this small yet dense museum, and is definitely a must-go for those who wish for a deeper insight into Hong Kong's history, as it is easily accessible (literally right next to the Star Ferry port, close to Central Station's exit from IFC) and despite its cost, it 8s definitely worth it.
