We checked in late on a Friday and at first were scared of the time being so late, and the line was 6 people deep--other check ins, market transaction, etc.
The lady at the front moved through quickly enough, but I was wondering if any other person would assist in expediting the waiting. I think the hotel was also at max capacity without any option of an upgrade. We received waters (Hilton honors perk) and moved to the room.
The room had 2 queen size beds, privacy curtain separating the sofa bed and kitchenette facilities. We had a full size fridge, coffee machine, dishes, microwave, and dishwasher.
The bathroom had full size shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, lotion mounted on the walls. Nice clean and spacious room.
We found out that one of our keys didn't work and requested replacements. Unfortunately this happened 2 more times and we checked to see that they didn't accidentally get demagnetized by our phones. In any case, the front desk was able to assist.
Just note that this spot is pretty busy and breakfast seemed like a free for all, at least on Saturday and Sunday, from 7-10am. Be prepared to wait in line, since breakfast is served cafeteria style. I feel like they could've added another person (if possible) since it could've been a more expedited/efficient experience. While in line, there were no bowls, scarcely any utensils, and bread options were picked clean. The refrigerated case on the side housed yogurt options, but with the sole employee behind the counter left to help everyone with their many needs, it was just a lengthy experience. The coffee, fountain drinks, and toaster were self serve, as was the oatmeal and toppings--as long as there were bowls.
The items being served behind the counter were the other hot foods (always a choice of 3 items--carb, egg type for protein, and other meat protein and waffles) served by an employee. This area was manned by a single employee, which was hectic at times. The same employee replenished bowls, utensils, and condiments.
At times it was hard to come by seating inside--lobby, other sitting area, breakfast area, but luckily an outdoor area was also made available. Another option was to eat in the room.
Parking was a $25/day charge. Pass given to put in car. The catch is good luck in finding a spot. If it's busy, good luck finding a spot. On this weekend, parking was problematic and actually quite a few cars were double parked.
Parking is a premium at all these spots, so this price isn't too steep. They also do provide EV charging in the area.
No shuttle service available, but still close to Bart and public transport. They also are pet friendly, which is not always the case with these spots.
The gym is located on the first floor, and has a multi function cable machine in the corner, plenty of mirrors, free weights, bench, dumbbells, Peloton bike with subscription, 2 treadmills, 1 elliptical machine, medicine balls, and exercise ball. They also had wipes to clean the areas and towel service, as well as a water cooler. There was quite a bit of space in the area and tv access. Adjacent to here was the guest laundry facilities.
The hotel has potential, just the lack of staff for breakfast (and evident frustration on the part of the lone employee left to attend to the breakfast crowd) was some of what made this a less than stellar experience. I would've left a rating of 3.5 stars if possible since the spot is still pretty good. I now would like to see how this place is when it isn't as busy, since it may be a better experience.
