"More casual affairs include sliding into a barstool at Hog Island Oyster Co. in Oxbow Public Market for a platter of west coast bivalves served with their wildly addictive Hogwash mignonette." - Jillian Dara

"Napa is a short drive from some of the country's best oyster beds, so it's worth taking a break from all of the farm-to-table vegetables to check out the offerings from the nearby ocean. If you have time, head over to Point Reyes National Seashore and stop at their oyster farm for a taste of the bounty fresh out of the ocean."

This was my first time trying cioppino, but I could tell right away that this wasn’t a good one. It tasted like watered-down tomato sauce. The shrimp po'boy was good, though it was a bit hard to eat. I chose this place because, unlike other restaurants, they offered a smaller and more reasonably priced cioppino. But, it ended up being a very disappointing dinner.

We sat on the patio due to there being no room inside. The patio was very nice even in January, but coats were required. I had a spicy Bloody-Mary which was delicious. My friend and I split Hama Hama oysters, they were huge and very good. I would have loved a small cocktail sauce accompaniment but they came with a chimichurri that I did not try. Each of us also ordered the grilled cheese which was fantastic. Great stop to end a day full of wine tasting. There was a "wellness fee" on the tab which was bizarre and we weren't sure if that should be in addition to the tip or if it was meant to be a portion of the tip.

Sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon. Great selections of fresh oysters shucking in front of us. We ordered a mix plate of oysters and some smaller ones were my favorite, slightly sweet and not much aftertaste. Relatively fast service. Fried oysters were quite a good snack as well. Clam chowder was creamy and had ample amount of clams with shell attached. Great spot for a quick eat if visiting the oxbow market area.

Delicious, fresh seafood! I love the outdoor seating and being able to walk around in the Oxbow market. I ordered the poke, clam chowder and fresh oysters, such good quality. Also the heirloom tomato salad was amazing!

This thriving business should be embarrassed with the White Clam Chowder but I suspect they will fix this asap. Overpriced and under delivers. Less than half the bowl filled. And crazy over salted sending your Sodium level through the roof. It’s not a chowder. It’s just steamed clams in a bowl. The Chefs are not tasting what they are serving. Raw Oysters is their saving grace; stellar as usual. And yes, I will eat there again.

This oyster bar was the highlight of my Napa Valley trip. The seafood stew was absolutely mind-blowing; I still remember its amazing flavor. And the oysters were so fresh and delicious. Will definitely come back every time I visit the area.

Oysters. I love oysters and Hog Island Oyster Co delivers. Consistantly great food. Friendly, helpful staff. The oyster pot pie's are back and in season. Tried the poke tacos. Fish, very fresh. Refreshing.

We stopped here for a quick bite before our late dinner reservation. We ordered the trio of grilled oysters and the beer, battered oysters. The service was nothing special. They were friendly, but not chatty at all. We sat at the oyster bar, which was a fun experience. There was some shell in the oysters that we had to spit out but the flavors were good. We had a nice time sitting, but we felt a little bit rushed at the end to make a note this place was not busy when we were there. I probably wouldn’t wait around for this restaurant but if they had seating open, I think it’s a fun stop.
